If it's a PDF or something visual and has a PNG/JPG preview, it behaves the same as normal thumbnails, so it doesn't bear mentioning here.

is the standard one. Anything that is either written in Sta.sh Writer or with the 'Enter Text' option in the Submit dialog will have this. Some include a preview image within the thumbnail itself, but I won't be discussing that here.

User Friendly Journal Skin Coding
I've been making journal skins on DeviantART since 2010, I'd dabbled in CSS before, but never for other people. I know what my codes are and how to use them to their full potential and often, just code on the fly when I want something to do something. But making free and commission skins here showed me that I needed to make them as easy to use as they are pretty. And really, who wants to type in a lot of extra HTML when they go to write a journal? It is easy enough to access the artist's comments.
But even then, copy & paste, memorize that.... It can be a lot to deal with if you do not know CSS and HTML. Which is the reason most people get someone else's skin design in the firs

WHAT IS COLOR? The property possessed by an object of producing different sensations on the eye as a result of the way it reflects or emits light.
This is a Color Wheel that shows all the colors and how they are aligned with one another.
Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, brown etc.

10 Top Tips To Become A Better Artistby10 Top Tips To Become A Better Artist11 months ago in Personal More Like This
Tip 1: Learn the Importance of the Sketch
Sketching is one of those things that every artist MUST do and do often. Sketches don't have to be perfect, nor do you have to show them to anyone. They can be as rough or as scratchy as you like but the thing to keep in mind is it's readability. The purpose of a sketch is to quickly illustrate or develop an idea you have, to capture or study some form of reference so that it can be worked on at a latter date. Because of this, the sketch only needs to convey the right information to you and you alone (unless you are drawing an idea out for a client then the message needs to be crystal clear).
Tip 2: Draw, Draw and Draw Some More!
This is a similar tip to the first but what I mean by this is draw anything that comes to mind or visually interests you. Sketch on the bus, train, in bed and even on the toilet. Seriously! The

Today we will learn how to make smoooth animation! In this tutorial we will cover a basic movement, but sometimes difficult to look natural, jumping.
I am using a pixel black ball as the subject, but really, you can apply this tutorial to anything you want to jump! Like animals and humans (of coarse they would bend their legs instead of squish.;D)! If your animation starts to "trail", or you simply don't know how to animate, you can check out some other tutorials I have made that are linked at the bottom.
Let us begin!
Lets start with the subject. I am using a 13x13 pixel black ball, but you can use anything, even if it isn't pixeled.
Now for the squish! This is the set move to gather energy for the jump. You wouldn't jump straight legged, would you? For my ball, I made it shorter, and expanded it out some on both ends. If your subj

It's rather ridiculous how many loner Saecair there are. From now on all newly created Saecair MUST BE IN A PACK. Thia does not mean you need tp create a whole pack! You can just hint upon the fact that they're in a pack. Maybe they wander.from their pack sometimes to explore that's okay but there are far tpo many loner Saecair :c If you want a loner saecair you better have a good story for it. I don't mean to sound mean but these guys are pack animals or will at least go with another group. Even if they're with anothee creature they're not loners. Females are -rarely- loners unless somehow banished or their pack basically died out. (Thia does not give you permission to always use that as an excuse :I )
So please no more loners unless you ask. It's not that hard to just mention a pack that they may be in you guys.

Seriously I want you all to give this a try. You'll learn something awesome and end up with a kick-ass finished drawing.
What you need:
Charcoal pencil (2B or 4B)X-acto knife (for the kiddies, be very CAREFUL when using this to sharpen your charcoal pencil)Willow/Vine charcoal (alternatively you can use this instead of the charcoal pencil and X-acto knife combo but you won't get the precision you need for the finer details)Sand paperKneed eraserPrecision eraser (something like the Mono Zero Eraser on this site - alternatively you can cut a regular eraser and make it pointy)Printer and paper (go to the Sonic Channel site and download ANY of the official Sonic artwork that is prepared specifically for rendering)Tissue paperYour index finger or thumbEnthusiasm!

I have made mentioned of him in the past on occasion for his kindness, humble nature and intellect. Jason is very much a multi-talented person whom I've caught up with him twice in person in America and though he is more of a 'behind-the-scenes' kind guy. I can't help but do what I can to share my praise for his help all these years. And in case you're wondering what he does, well let's just say that he works for these guys.
Nevertheless remember the post I made about the Free Pocket Colour Wheel? Well Jason's found an even better and more convenient way to utilise this invaluble tool online and it's called Colour Scheme Designer 3.

Museum Review: Senckenberg in Frankfurt, GermanyCAVE! Picture spam.Museum Review: Senckenberg in Frankfurt, Germany1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Lately, i spent my time in Frankfurt due to the Bookfair and thus, I also took the chance to check out Germany's second largest museum of natural history: The Naturkunde Museum Senckenberg.
Even though my feet let me feel like being a walker from Stephen King's "The Long Walk" (I was running around non stop for the whole day) boy, did I had a great time there. The museum is a blast and a literal titbit for everyone who is interested in natural history, zoology and palaeontology.
People and kids especially love it for its dinosaurs (and I admit that these were really impressive I think my personal highlights were the great collections of stuffed mammals and stuffed birds (which also is the largest worldwide, speaking of the birds).

Hello guys! This is iDJPanda on the topic of "Commissions"! Bear with me though. I've never given a commission in my life but I know how people portray their commissions to get them! I hope this article may be of some help to you guys.
Setting up commissions can be hard and making it appealing to customers even harder but there are a few things you can do to any passerby make a double take to see what you are producing! (This is going over how to write a commission journal but can also tie into the widget as well! )
One of the most important steps in this process is providing examples
If you're like me, you LOVE examples. And you ask, "Why are examples so important?"
Providing example works of what you are commissioning leaves the commissioner an idea of what kind of style and quality of artwork they will receiving. It's basically the sampler of the main dish. You don't want to provide "na

The Internet Archive is a massive digital library that stores all sorts of material in the public domain, from music and movies to images, webpages and nearly three million books. All of this is open-source and available to the general public free of charge. The books documented below cover all sorts of subjects from different eras, from anatomy to portraiture, fashion to architecture, from the works of Leonardo Da Vinci to the letters of Vincent van Gogh.
And this is only scratching the surface! If you head over to the Archive and search for whatever subjects catches your interest most you can find much, much more. Just select "Texts" in the search box at the top of the page.

Introduction about making handmade booksINTRODUCTION ABOUT BASIC TOOLS TO MAKE HANDMADE BOOKSIntroduction about making handmade books7 months ago in Art Features More Like This
Today I'd like to share with you some basic tips if you're interested in making handmade books. I've learned how to do that a few terms ago, at the university. As an art restoring adept I've been through the old, traditional ways of making books and added some modern touches to simplify that. I'm going non-professional so far, without expensive equipment, so if you'd like to give books a try you don't have to invest that much
The first and obvious thing that's needed for our book is paper. At that stage you have to decide what kind of book you'd like to make - you need lined or squared paper for notebooks, journals, cookbooks and basically everything that's meant to write in. Sketchbooks and scrapbooks require nice smooth plain paper and photo albums work best with thick and durable paper. Of course those are basics, you can use decorated paper or one suitable for

Because there is no way to submit audio files to deviantArt, songwriting and composing are art forms that are somewhat left out on dA. However, since there is a category for songs and lyrics, the art of creating songs has not been completely overlooked. In this article, I will cover the basics of songwriting, such as the elements of a song, hooks, and song structure, as well as share my own writing process. I’ve also included a feature of my favourite musical pieces on dA.
Elements of a Song
According to most books about songwriting, a song is made up of three things: the melody, the harmony, and the rhythm. If we are talking about popular genres, such as rock, pop, or country, I also like to include the lyrics as part of the elements.
If we consider a pop song (or a song in another non-instrumental genre), the melody would be what the person is singing. When you are humming along, you are singing the melody. The harmony,

That article was an effort to explain the category and it’s history, and how to get started, how to improve and how to enjoy it to it’s fullest. This article aims to cover common questions around stamps, and provide links to resources, for creating stamps. Not only does this article aim to target beginners or those that do not know about stamps, but it also aims to
