i went to my Independent Research: Drawing class, which i signed up for late. so i didn't know quite what to expect, having not been to class yet. the only thing my professor told me to bring to class was a drawing i'd worked on or completed lately...
do you realize how vague that is? my mind went into overdrive. should i bring a large one that was more conceptual? should i grab a still-life? a comic? i was losing it. but then my dad, who is good friend with my professor, having been a grad student under his teaching, tells me to show my professor what i LIKE to do.
thus, i take the Hunger Games drawing i've been coloring, and a completed Blaire design.
i was so embarrassed when i showed him my cartoons, that i started rambling about how i'd like to go into animation, and he stops me. he asks me what materials i need to do that. i kinda freeze, cause i wasn't anticipating that at all. but then i spit out that i hadn't thought about anything spec

This is why I don't add people on Facebook.
Incidentally, it's creeps like this who also made me lose interest in drawing Clopin in the first place. Needless to say I finally figured out how to block people on that site.

Where's the Bears...? + SpiritSpirit DayWhere's the Bears...? + Spirit3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Minnie is wearing a purple bow today. You'd all be blind not to notice that purple banner on the top of your screen. It's Spirit Day. This is a day close to my heart. As a teen, I dropped out of high school due to bullying. Due to bullying, I ended up ill in the hospital from stress. I was beaten up and spit on. I sat at lunch alone for years. Why? Because I dressed differently? I didn't want to be in the cliques? Because I was friends with the other kids everyone picked on and refused to do the same? To this day I don't 100% know.
And the sad thing? I had to see my daughter go through the same things, years later--at the hands of both kids and teachers. Thankfully I had options to remove her from that.
I believe that NO ONE should be bullied. Certainly not for sexual orientation, the way they dress, their beliefs, whatever. Let's stand up and stop this. 20 years ago, I certainly wish someone was there to st

Socks: A BildungsromanI would have told you I had finally resumed work on Neopian Anomaly #20 (and it felt great), but after getting a glimpse of my classes this semester...yeah--no. I'm afraid I'm going to have to put that off for a little while longer. Sorry, guys. D:Socks: A Bildungsroman4 years ago in Personal More Like This
But that's a very dreary note for a new journal, so I'm going to tell you a story if you're up to listen. ^_^ Good luck with classes, all!
Everyone wears cute socks in elementary school. Penguins, polka dots, kittens. I loved my cute socks. I even had a pair of "anti-gravity socks" printed with aliens and spaceships that I claimed gave me the ability to jump higher. I was extremely upset when one sock eventually went missing.
In my middle school, though, cutesy socks were not all the rage, to put it mildly. People made fun of my flower-print pants in middle school, too, and by the time high school came around, I was trying to wear plain-print socks as much as possible. I grew to resent it when my parents bought me cute so

Suggestions? My darlings! I am sure you are not all internet hermits like me...so may I ask a favour? can you recommend any good books for me to read? I have only read a handful in my life....sadly.Suggestions?4 years ago in Personal More Like This
I love supernatural/none supernatural horror, or medieval historical/ medieval fantasy or demony-middle earth type books. Also quite keen on zombie apocalypse/ pandemic survival style too. If you know any that fit into these categories I would be grateful if you could share?
If you know a really really good book that doesn't fit into any of these? I would still be interested in having a look at it.
I am sad..I read a book on my Japan trip and I can't remember the name :iconcryforeverplz:. Its about a boy who could shape shift and use magic, I think his name was Tern and there was a story in the book about him rescuing a girl enslaved by a wizard who was obsessed with quicksilver? if you know the name of this book I will love you forever and ever. The book pretty much covers his life from birth to death.
'KORRA GETS 3 MORE SEASONS YA'LL!'Shaboodles and greetings from my sister island of Tobago where I currently reside on a brief vacation with my mom and sister. I may not be at this year's San Diego's Comic Con (or any comic con for that matter----I live in Caribbean for pete's sake XD) but still, I least I get to enjoy a nice weekend away before I return to work on my film.'KORRA GETS 3 MORE SEASONS YA'LL!'3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Anyways, how has everyone been?
And just as the title of this journal clearly states, have you heard the news!
Korra---the show that touched our hearts and changed our social lives a few weeks back---is making it's grand return to Nickelodeon next year March 2013 (according to my sources on Tumblr). But she isn't also, this time Korra isn't getting just 1 more season. Oh no, she's not getting 1...not 2 but 3.
THAT's RIGHT! KORRA IS GETTING THREE GRAND SPANKING NEW SEASONS GUARANTEED TO BRING SOME AWESOMENESSS!
So what do you guys and gals think about that?
Are you just farting rainbows and pooping jelly beans in excitement?
Are yuh kid
It's over when I say it's over.Hello! I'm back. You may have already come to that conclusion when I posted page 13 of Moff and Flame on friday and subsequently stabbed a majority of you in the feels and bathed in your tears and sobs of "NUUUUUUUUUUU!!" and "WHHY!!?" and (my favourite) "YOU F**K!".It's over when I say it's over.3 years ago in Personal More Like This
For that I hollowly apologise, because, like the nature of the comic, the pain was unavoidable, but there is still more to come. I'm still in the process of torturing myself, my characters and most of you. There were a few comments where people assumed this was the last page in the story and I just want to assure you it's not, don't worry, I'll let you know with a big THE END at the end of it. Sorry in advance, but thank you all for for your comments and your emotions and numerous icons of crying. They make this worthwhile.
I had a lovely time in the Pyrenees last week! I've been so busy since I've been back though, but the good type of busy. Hopefully if all goes well I'll have another page to you by this evening.
Seriously. you guyz...I mean, appreciate that you guys like my comic and all, but please, im begging you, DON'T go spreading and posting them on different websites freely or without my permission. Please ASK first, and even if you do ask, its hardly likely that i'll approve of it. I'd actually prefer to keep my comics restricted to dA and my facebook page gallery. And if i do approve, please at least leave my watermark/dA page link in there and give me credit for the work. Though i'm doing this for free and have my comic open to the public, just posting them on anther website and not giving credit for it is just stealing (especially those pages which dont have a watermark). Even if you did post it somewhere but didn't consider it stealing since you didn't claim it as your own. Just, really. it ticks me off. You guys understand, right?Seriously. you guyz...3 years ago in Personal More Like This

China trip post (photo heavy)Mm I don't know how to go about this in an organized manner, so this will just be a stream of photos with my intermittent narration.China trip post (photo heavy)3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Our trip was Shanghai > Hangzhou > Nanjing > Suzhou > Wuxi > back to Shanghai. Then we went to Hong Kong on our own.
Oh yeah, first, since I have no photos of these (for good reason): THE SQUAT TOILETS. They suck. They stink. You can always tell if there's a bathroom nearby by the smell in the air! Half the time the flush doesn't even work. All the used toilet paper is tossed in a bin, so the smell just lingers and lingers. For some reason, sometimes they sell food right outside the bathrooms. LIKE WHY?! I don't know how anybody can think about eating with that smell there.
I drank as little as possible. Between my sis and I, we also brought 5-6 rolls of toilet paper, so it was more than enough. (We left the extra rolls at Grandma's in HK afterwards haha.)
Anyhoo, onto pictures...
From our place to China was a 12 hour flight, 4 hour break at airport, then

Not to grow up to be him, because he's already Steven Moffat and doing an awesome job of it.

CNN News on Cory Monteith deathCory Monteith, who played heart throb Finn Hudson in the Fox hit "Glee," was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room Saturday, police said. He was 31.CNN News on Cory Monteith death2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Vancouver police said the cause of death was not immediately apparent, but they ruled out foul play. Medical examiners will conduct an autopsy Monday.
Monteith's body was discovered by staff members at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel after he missed his checkout time, acting Chief Constable Doug LePard told reporters.
He had checked into his room July 6.
The actor apparently had several people over to his room at one point Friday night, but LePard said Monteith was seen on hotel surveillance video returning to his room in the early morning hours by himself.
One of his castmates on "Glee," Mark Salling, tweeted a simple "no" after police held their news conference.
Dot-Marie Jones, who plays the football coach at the fictional William McKinley High tweeted: "I have no words! My heart is broken. Cory was not only a hell of a friend, he was one
