CitizenFour: A Question of Heroic Journalism or Irresponsible Treason and its Enigmatic Messenger

In a lot of cases, documentaries are simply too dry, depressing, or too uncomfortably true to enjoy the kinds of audiences that narrative filmed entertainments enjoy.

The 10 CommandmentsHello esteemed colleagues! This blog is particularly targeted to those of you who are considering pursuing a career in an art/creative field and those of you who are in art school as well. If you're not doing either of those things, the concepts here are good general advice for anything you're striving for, so definitely hang around and read on!The 10 Commandments2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
These '10 Commandments' were formulated by curator/artist/designer/entrepreneur/amazinginlyawesomehumanbeing Sergio Gomez. I had the opportunity of going to a lecture of his a few months back and it was very inspiring. So without any further ado, here they are!
10. You shall be PATIENT and CONSISTENT
One of the biggest lies you can tell yourself is that you will be an overnight success. Like any skill set, developing your artwork will take time. This is the same when looking for ways to advance your career, it won't fall into your lap. You must be earnest in looking for opportunities to show and sell your work, you

Everyone has their little routines for arranging and breaking up their days.
The most interesting ones are those that give you a break from fixating on imminent deadlines, when problems are coming at you ten times every hour and you need to recalibrate a little just to breathe. There must be a moment to reorganize and process information. Counter–intuitively, “takin
2014 Werewolf moviesWolfcop2014 Werewolf movies6 months ago in Personal More Like This
As the year draws to a close, let's take a look at the werewolf movies released in 2014.
Seven werewolf movies have been released in 2014, a surprising number for a creature that's usually ignored in favor of serial killers, zombies, vampires, found footage ghosties and other creeps that are a bit easier on the special effects budget. The plots don't seem to go anywhere new, following the usual tropes such as hapless schmucks getting picked off one by one and regular joes contracting lycanthropy and suddenly having to cope with bloodlust and body hair. With the exception of When Animals Dream the werewolves themselves when actual characters are white, hetero, relatively youthful and reasonably well-off males. No new ground is being broken, but that's pretty much par for the course with werewolf flicks. Admittedly, it takes lowered expectations (and sometimes a lobotomy) to enjoy the genre. For every genuine classic like Ginger Snaps

Let's ruin it.
Despite being a story of people who usually make it, The Walking Dead comics aren't that positively oriented. What's positive about a world full of mindless brain-eating zombies with very few living healthy humans left? (Don't answer, I know that for some of you it's a paradise). Come and take a closer look at these comics from a diffrent way than usual.
The basics. The Walking Dead is a black and white monthly comic book series, written by Robert Kirkman and brought to its visual life by Tony Moore. These two guys are the creators of the serie, however, Tony Moore was replaced from issue #7 by Charlie Adlard (which didn't stop him from making the covers through issue #24). And, of course, there's also Cliff Rathburn, who's

The “alternative universe” has long been a sci–fi trope, usually simply a good–guy bad–guy heroes and villains reversal. Like the Star Trek episode (“Mirror, Mirror”) in which a transporter glitch lands Kirk on an evil pirate “parallel universe” Enterprise where Spock is a goateed murderer with mutiny on his agenda. But real scientists have complicated things considerably, with “string theory” positing at least eleven (and possibly an infinite number) of “alternative/parallel universes.”
Once upon a time, we pondered our relative insignificance as sin

As some of you people know, I am a fan of Kill La Kill and have been riffing on the "uniforms" of the rebel group Nudist Beach with crossover characters.
As you can see from the recruiting poster, there is a basic uniform design but you can customize it - as I have - for the various characters I have drawn.
Even the 4 Devas have their very own version of a Nudist Beach uniform so there really aren't any limits except that you can't technically be wearing clothes - you can only wear accessories such as hats, belts, straps, s
Salvador Allende 1908-1973DISCLAIMER: last year when I decided to commemorate this, I received quite some flame because I wasn't commemorating the two towers, and instead something else. I'm not american, so although I feel sorrow for the death and loss that marked that day for the USA, I don't feel the urge to commemorate it. There are many September 11. I choose to commemorate the death of whom I see as a personal hero. Please be a civilized person and respect that.Salvador Allende 1908-19732 years ago in Personal More Like This
Exactly fourty years ago today Salvador Allende died in mysterious circumstances after the military coup sponsored by the United States of America had put an end to democracy and freedom in Chile, thus starting a dark age of dictatorship, repression, and the well known phenomenon of the desaparecidos, the people who were made disappear by the dictatorship. An approximate estimation suggests that some 40'000 people were made disappear by the military dictatorial government, and over 600'000 were imprisoned and tortured.

Perfect commission processI commissioned a lot of artists (more than 50) and some of them didn't follow a commission process and only sent the final image after asking for an upfront payment.Perfect commission process1 year ago in Personal More Like This
I won't commission this kind of artists in the future, because I have no guaranty that the artist will deliver a drawing corresponding to client wishes and I had bad experiences in some cases.
Below, I'll use client for the commissioner and artist for the commissioned artist.
For me, the perfect commission process steps should be :
client sends a note or an email to an artist with all details and references about commission
artist should reply quickly (1 or 2 days after received the message, if he's available), accept or refuse commission, and give a price for the commission
client should reply if the price is fine for him (but he shouldn't bargain)
artist should give an estimated delay before starting to work, if he has a waiting list, put the commission in it
once artist is ready

Henry David Thoreau
By :icontechgnotic: techgnotic
I I always thought of Thoreau’s comment as simply a word game — clever but ultimately false at its core. A Valentines Day without a Valentine means being alone and alone means being unhappy. It’s taken many years to finally understand the truth in Thoreau’s words. We are never so alone as when in the company of loving family and friends, our Valentine companion held tight in our arms – but knowing we are lost, unfulfilled in our dreams and visions, and untrusting in our own inner counsel. Now I hope to one day seek companions

“ The misfirings of my beloved/despised mind that conspire to convince me to destroy all have rendered me housebound and led to a solitary life. A creature of past, proof, memory and imaginary friends, I am aware enough to know the things I see and hear are not real, but that does not mean I do not still see and hear them.”

It seems there is a most frightening psychological conundrum when considering the concept of demonic possession even the most remote possibility of reality upon our earthly plane is the notion that just believing it may be true could very likely be the spark needed for the Demon to discover, seek out, and ultimately inhabit its next vessel of evil: You.
