The pilot's voice scratches over the speaker system in the back of the carrier. You look up, swallowing your nervousness, and pace around the belly of the plane again, your parachute bag hanging on your back like a turtle's shell.
"Nervous, greenhorn?" Steve jokes at you. He isn't smiling, which means he's trying to stay serious about the mission, but he still cracks a joke or two to lighten the tension.
"Only as much as I can be," you answer as truthfully as you can. You look to the others, who are all in thick felt and leather clothing, their entire bodies wrapped in thick layers of specially designed snow wear. Their eyes, like bugs, are covered in black goggles, to shield the blinding reflection of Antarctica's icy landscape. You, yourself, are wrapped in the same clothing, but like the others, your clothes are colored to designate your identity: An indigo and light blue, with the fur in streaks of white and gray. RetributionLoki gazed at himself in the golden plate. 20 years had passed since he had tasted the throne, and since it had been ripped from his lips. Only 19 years had passed since he had almost become the king of the Earth, and given a throne in prison. Now he had to abdicate that throne and was still, and forever would be, a prince of Asgard. When had he fallen so low?
"Loki!" A friend, one of the peasant gods that he had once ruled over, skidded around the corner. He was out-of-breath, and couldn't seem to articulate his thoughts. "He'she's"
Loki placed his hands on his friend's shoulders. "Take your time. Take a breath. Whatever it is you need say can wait for you to catch your breath."
"No. It cannot," he wheezed. He paused to take a large breath. "Your sonit was done today. And, they decided. It would be tonight."

Now and then I think of when I was in Asgard
Living like a prince and being the less cool one
But then I started genocide
Fell off the bridge and you thought I had died
But now I have come back to conquer Earth
I've become addicted to a certain kind of power
Now that I'm the leader of an army
Plus I've got the Tesseract
And a cool staff to stab you in the back
Civilization as you know it will soon be over
But you didn't have to fuck it up
I was gonna be the leader of the entire world
You didn't let me have my throne
Now the Avengers won't leave me alone
You didn't have to be an ass
Leave me alone and go eat some shawarma
I guess you really want me, though
To go back to the planet that I used to know
Now and then I think of the time when you were my brother
All the laughs and all the battles that we shared
I hate seeing you this way
All shaken, stirred and crazy
You never could let it go
That you are a frost giant from another planet that we used to know
The Gods and the Geek. Chapter 4.You had passed out. No joke, you literally fell to the floor, fainted. Why did you faint, you might ask? Well, it should've been obvious. The Gods and the Geek. Chapter 4.3 years ago in Humor More Like This
You just met Thor Odinson, the Norse god of storms. He's known more for thunder than he is for storms, but nonetheless, he's the Norse god of storms.
You had been drinking your coffee, and you were walking to the round table to ask Fury something, when you saw him.
Everyone looked at you when you started hyperventilating, and than Thor's eyes met yours, and you fainted.
They were all more than shocked to see you faint, and they stared at you, continually, until you woke up.
When you did, you held your head and blinked, mumbling curses to yourself in Danish.
When you stood, you blushed, and rubbed the back of your neck, apologizing for interrupting.
Thor and the rest of the gang began talking again, while you snuck up behind Thor, pulling your glasses on, and began to examine him.
He was rather surprised when you started poking him with a pen, and tou

Tick Tick Tick Tick
A constant tick echoed loudly, but sounded far away. The sound of white noise buzzed loudly in your ears, slowly becoming unbearable. The two sounds mixed together incompletely as you looked up at the glowing moon. The crescent moon curled high above, the stars twinkled brightly. After the noises continued rhythmically you reached over and turned the dial, silencing the old radio at your side on the rusty platform you sat on. You sighed, gazing longingly at the unending night sky, now the metallic ticks echoed lowly through your ears. An ominous wind now quietly swam through your head as if it were empty, each breeze tugging at your hair and anything it could grab hold of.
Something in the sky twinkled brightly. It shone. A warm gold glow emitting from it, the sight making you gasp. After gazing at the gold orb in awe you leapt from you spot, landing on a rough, rock-like surface with a soft thud.
You ran towards the orb, stopping when
Masquerade-Chapter 6You awoke the next morning in your dark room in Stark Tower. You had rather enjoyed the bedclothes with which you had been provided: a long, short-sleeved black shirt long enough to reach your thighs, and black leggings. When you strolled lazily out of your room, you found Natasha and Clint sitting on the couch, kissing each other quite passionately. You cleared your throat.Masquerade-Chapter 63 years ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This
"Good morning," you said, smirking.
The two nearly spilled their drinks as they snapped attention to you. You chuckled quietly at their embarrassment. You had known a few assassins; you knew they weren't usually very attached to others.
"Morning," Clint said. "How did you sleep?"
"Most excellently, thank you. Where would one find coffee?"
"Just go behind that wall. The kitchen is on the other side. The coffee maker is on the counter, and mugs are in the cupboard above it," Natasha said.
"Thank you, my friends.

"Sleepless night?" Loki asked.
"Somewhat," you replied curtly.
You took a drink of your coffee. Loki seemed different than usual today. He seemed detached from himself.
"I hear the Avengers have been welcomed as guests in Asgard," Loki said.
"Yes, they are here," you said.
"I suppose Thor will bring them in here later, to show off his good work."
Loki scoffed and shook his head.
"You really have no idea of anything that anyone but yourself feels, do you?" you asked.
"I beg your pardon?"
"Thor cannot bear the fact that you have landed yourself in this situation. The King and Queen blame themselves for what has happened. Thor does not wish for anyone to see you like this. Not even me, I believe."
"You really believe Thor to be

"Good morning, darling," he whispered, rubbing your shoulder.
You turned over to face him. His slick hair was slightly messy from the previous night. His eyes looked happily into yours.
"Good morning, baby," you replied.
You cuddled in closer to him, pressing your chest to his. His lips met with yours. He felt as though his lips belonged with yours. This was an absolutely perfect morning.
"Breakfast?" you asked after pulling away.
"That would be delightful," Loki replied, giving you a quick peck on the forehead.
You lazily pulled the covers off of yourself and stood up. You started to walk toward the closet.
"Wait!" Loki said, sitting up.

"All my life, I've felt inferior," he said softly. "I grew up in Thor's shadow, and following in Odin's footsteps was difficult. And now, I'm in a deeper pit than the one in which I started. And everything is my fault. I've lost my chance at the throne, my family, my powers "
You stared blankly at him. You searched him for any sort of lie. But, he was in deep mourning for the life he used to have, or the life he wanted.
"Now you know how it feels," you said, barely loud enough to hear.
"I hate myself. And everything else."
"I know. To be candid, I hate you as well. I always have."

You walked into Loki's room, fully rested for the first time in a month. Your time working to pay Odin back was up, and construction was complete. You stood next to Loki, amazed at what the workers had accomplished. What was once Loki's bedroom had been turned into a living room, with a large sectional sofa and an even bigger fireplace. There were a few bookshelves pressed against the walls on either side of the large window. You walked past the living room into a short hallway, holding Loki's hand.
On the other side of the hall was a huge, fully-stocked kitchen. Past the counters was a small dining table with a candelabrum, sitting pretty in front of a smaller fireplace than the one in the last room. Leading out of the kitchen were a few more short hallways. You followed the one to the left, past the stove. It led to a set of French doors that opened to a gorgeous terrace

Asgard was falling, and he was still trapped in the dungeons, completely forgotten. He found that hilarious, but all that left his sewn lips was a digusting and choked imitation of a laughter.
The universe was on fire, and all he could do was to smile a broken, bloody smile.
He started to pull the chains that were trapping him. A cracking noise was made as every bone in his hand broke, letting him slip out of the shackle binding him. He laughed again, and laughed ever more as he felt how the stiches broke, tearing and scaring his lips. He rose, his legs shaking as he did so like they wanted to buckle beneath him.
His hysterical laughter filled the room, because Ragnarrök was here and it was so perfect and hilarious.
And somehow, it was his fault. He had be

"Good morning," he smiled.
"Morning," you replied. "What are you doing?"
"Well, each room has a TV and DVD player in it, but you can only access it by a panel located somewhere around here "
"Yeah. I figured you should stay in bed today and I didn't want you to be bored."
With that, Clint pushed a panel on your wall, which flipped around to reveal a few buttons and a remote control attached to it. He picked up the remote and turned on the rest of the wall. A larger panel flipped around to reveal a flat screen TV. Your mouth hung open for a little while.
"Cool," you said.

You heard talking as you passed the tree trunk room.
"...sudden you trust him? I don't know, Tony..."
"I know. I'm not saying put all your trust in him, I mean as soon as he pulls something funny we're crackin' down, but Thor and her trust him so let's at least give him a chance."
"I really don't know..."
"Alright, forget them. You trust me, don't you?"
You continued down the hall, finding it came to a dead end. "What the...? Damn labyrinth..."
You patted the walls down, checking carefully for any of those hidden openings, and then you heard Loki's voice back down the way you had come. "Loki?" You looked up, and saw him disappear at the tree trunk room, so you went back that way and walked right in.

"It isn't the end, we shall meet again," he promised, petting the back of your hair.
"Alright, big boy, let go so the rest of us can say g'bye," Tony said, a hand on your shoulder. You stood up and shook your head, holding open your arms for Tony but he waved you off to Steve. "I'm driving you there. We can say goodbye later, whatever."
Steve stood and gave you a nod, smiling fondly. Looked like it would be handshakes or salutes with him, but then you caught him chewing his lower lip, a spark of sadness in his eyes and you almost stumbled into a hug. He hesitated but lowered his arms around you and hugged back--a little stiffly, but it was still a hug.
When he let go, Virginia stood and smiled and you immediately headed for the elevator, followed by Tony.

"Watch your own language," you snapped. "Is there a reason you're shirtless?"
"Well...when you broke in and then out of the Tower, it was kind of a really inopportune time and your father was left very upset...he'd been having a pretty hard night already and that was just mean."
"Wasn't exactly the best timing for me either," you mumbled. "But how'd you get down here? How'd you find us? Why are you here?"
"Well I followed you," he said, "after Jarvis informed me of your posse leaving with your prisoner boyfriend--"
"Lover--" Tony's mouth shut and he cringed. "God. God. Ew, god. Why?"
"I don't ask 'why' about you and Steve."

You hadn't realized how spread out you had become since you got here; remembering you left some shoes somewhere and a shirt in the bathroom and whatnot. "Yeah, like what?" you laughed, shaking him off and taking two exaggerated steps forward from the roots. "Do you have a specific destination or something?"
Loki smiled softly. "Well...yes. As strange as this place is, and as twisted, there is a beautiful, nearly untouched garden--oh, it's only the most beautiful thing in the universe. Besides you. Now let's go,

His hand cooled your sore hip, bringing much-needed relief from the pain. You nodded, a tear rolling down your cheek as you placed a hand over his. "They all lied to me, Loki."

"Why did you lie to me?" you asked, throat tightening. "I thought you actually cared about me. I thought I meant more to you than just a just a side-kick."
He didn't say anything, still looking away. The cold hand on your hip caused you to shiver.
"I did not mean to hurt you," he said sadly.

Wanda Maximoff sat on a tall chair, feeling extremely annoyed. Being the royal advisor was no walk in the park, especially for someone who did not possess anything even close to a Kindness gene or that much compassion really. Those moments were fleeting and rare, and usually happened when it was not imperative to the situation.
Being an advisor to Magneto hadnt been so bad. He didnt ask much of her, and probably only had asked her opinion once or twice. At least she hadnt been forced to do very much.
But these two days that she had been advising Pietro had been hell. He may as well have told her to do all the emperor duties herself. Magneto had taken over Bayville and was slowly expanding the empire. He had left the Magneto Mansion to expand and given his emperor duties of course, to Pietro. Thank the Lord it was only tempo

"We left five minutes ago!" Lynda snapped. "Of course not!"
You grinned mischievously. "I'm hungry, momma," you whined. Thor chuckled.
Lynda whipped her head around and glared at you. "Don't."
You quieted, listening to the low hum of the car as Lynda drove along. So quiet. And you were so anxious. You were going to find Loki, and you weren't sure how that would play out. Was Thor right, or was he just being way too optimistic? It was in his nature, after all. Yes, Loki had let you live, but what if it was just a warning to stay the hell away?
What if he tried to kill you this time?
What if he succeeded?
Well. There wasn't much you could do about that in the present, in a moving vehicle, so you promptly pushed that thought to the back of your mind and contented yourself with pestering Lynda. "I have to go to the bathroom."

You wanted to tell him that you were definitely not jealous, and that you certainly did not have a crush on him, and that you were pretty sure Virginia was trying to kill you, but you didn't trust yourself to open your mouth because now he was working on your upper back and you knew the first noise you would make would be a moan. On a warm Friday in May a long silver train stopped at its destination to New York. The interior was equally silver with a few flares of blue on the sides with red, comfortable chairs in rows of 4. Of the few people left in the seats the mutant, turned vampire Jubilee, sat next to her mutant phasing friend Kitty Pryde. In the black haired woman's arms was a small baby boy rapped up in a blanket, sleeping with a pacifier in his mouth. His holder was the sparkly fingered girl herself, Jubilee, sitting next to her friend Kitty Pryde.
