This celebrity doll repaint was inspired by an outtake from the film Gone With The Wind that never made it to the final film.

I used a 16-inch Scarlett O'hara doll here produced by Robert Tonner Doll company. I completely removed factory facial painting and hand painted it to more faithfully replicate Vivien Leigh as Scarlett from that particular scene.

The doll's hair has been completely restyled.

Repaint is a new form of pop art, wherein the doll's face is treated like a three dimensional canvas, with the added challenge of painting within a very small area . Since dolls are basically miniature pieces, brush strokes and shading have to be very controlled and precise.

A tribute to one of the most iconic Hollywood screen characters, as portrayed by the incomparable Ms. Vivien Leigh. This version depicts Scarlett's pensive expression and melancholy as she bids goodbye to Ashley on his way back to rejoin the army against the Yankees. It turns out this version also fits perfectly in the green dress where she gets frustrated over not having been able to secure the money to pay taxes on Tara.

Full facial repaint and shading as well as extensive hair style make over to replicate the features of the character and the subtle nuances of lifelike expressions.

I use Tonner Doll Company's factory produced Stefan and Damon Salvatore doll. The inset photos at the bottom show the dols in their original factory state.

As with all my creations, I completely strip the original factory paint on each of the dolls, and completely repaint the facial features in, paying attention to accuracy of likeness and lifelike expressions. The dolls also underwent extensive hair rework to match the proportions of the faces .

Being a huge fan of the Lord of the Rings trilogy film, I anticipated with much excitement Tonner Company's release of their LOTR line of dolls based from the films.

This sculpt in my opinion is absolutely spot on, but sadly the factory paint failed to bring out Cate Blanchett's strong features. Scale and proportion were major issues, particularly the eyes and lips.

Since her makeup was very minimal, it was a little tricky as well.

My most recent 11 1/2 inch Cher doll repaint. The base doll used was a version produced by Mattel.

Complete removal of original paint then given a full facial repaint as well as a rework of the hair to replicate a live version of Cher's "If I Could Turn Back Time". Note that hairline was also handpainted to add a more realistic appearance.

The inset photo on the bottom right shows the doll as it looked originally before repainting.

I've been asked so many times when I will be creating a Jacob Black doll. Well here he is finally - Jacob Black as portrayed by Taylor Lautner from the Twilight sequel,"New Moon".

The doll used is a 17 1/2 inch Jacob doll by Robert Tonner. Precision and meticulous repainting went into the creation of this celebrity doll with the utmost attention to accuracy and detail.

The inset photo on the bottom right shows the mass produced version of the Edward Cullen as it was originally released.

Jack Sparrow is clearly one of my all-time favorite movie characters, perfectly portrayed by the brilliant Johnny Depp.
Although, I've done a few Jack Sparrow dolls previously, no two are ever alike. This one in particular is unique for its scale. This is the first Jack Sparrow I have created on a 1/6 scale (12 inch). Also, this repaint is based from the latest installment of POTC , "On Stranger Tides".

I use a Mattel JackSparrow doll for this recreation. The inset photo at the bottom middle shows the doll in its original factory state.

As with all my creations, I completely strip the original factory paint on each of the dolls, and completely repaint the facial features in, paying attention to accuracy of likeness and lifelike expressions. The doll also underwent extensive hair restyling - each dredlock has been carefully created to match the character's. In addition, I hand painted Jack's sparrow tattoo and his branded "P" mark.

A different take on Keira Knightley's characteof Elizabeth Swann. This renditions shows how Ms. Swan may have looked like before she got rained down on during they day of her wedding. As with all of my hand painted work, no two are ever exactly alike in detail and nuances of expression.

I used a 16-inch Elizabeth Swann doll here produced by Robert Tonner Doll company - a finely made facial sculpt but the facial paint was something I found quite unsatisfactory and which I felt did not really reflect the character portrayed by Keira nor captured her likeness.

So, the first order of business was to completely remove factory facial painting. I then hand painted it to bring the likeness of Ms. Knightley to life and to capture the essence of her character.

Next was I transformed her hair style by giving her a very elaborate and meticulously styled 18th century hair style in keeping with the movie's time period.

Work in Progress on Hot Toys 11 inch Emily Browning as Babydoll in "Sucker Punch". Facial features still need softening and further shading/contouring/coloring as well as tweaking in some areas. Hair needs to be trimmed to scale further and restyled.
