AND I RANT! CHINESE TRADITIONS PT 2Where was I? Oh yeah thats right there's MORE chinese traditions/practices that annoys the living hell out of me. You can read part 1 here http://ry-spirit.deviantart.com/journal/AND-I-RANT-CHINESE-TRADITIONS-303710943 . Alright here goes.
SAY HELLO TO YOUR THIRD UNCLE'S WIFE'S MOTHER'S BROTHER'S SON'S STEP SISTER'S CAT'S COUSIN'S FATHER'S OWNER'S DAUGHTER'S SECOND BROTHER: Thats me in the middle (Not really) reading a book with a lot of relatives looking at me with their creepy faces. The thing is that all of those uncles has different unique titles, like 2nd uncle, 3rd uncle, 4th uncle. Then it can get more complicated like 2nd uncle's son, 3rd uncle's daughter. Then it can get even more complicated when you have to remember the title for relatives like your uncle's son's wife's mother's brother! And trust me even a complicated link like that has a unique title in chinese, and I am supposed to remember the title... Oh by the way as a duty from the youngest person in the family
AND I RANT! CHINESE TRADITIONSSo that was me when I was little (Not really), those were some dark times when other kids would call me names like 'Teletubbies' or 'Pony Butt' or the classic 'Mr Dust Brush'..... that picture is a representation of what I wanna talk about, chinese haircuts! No not really, more like CHINESE TRADITIONS! There are a few things that bugs me, but I was able to avoid them when I moved to Australia. But once in a while when we have relatives over from Hong Kong, those god awful traditions would come visit me in the foreign country and smack me across the face like a hooker who owns their pimp money. And I was expected to know all these tradition even when I wasn't born in the 1930s? Problem is that my relatives take these tradition quite seriously, one small mistake and I could've cursed my family for 100 years. My friend Chio told me that a western friend of hers got married to a Japanese wife, they were having dinner with the wife's mother, he made the mistake of kissing his wife on the chAND I RANT! Difference between selling Art and selling MeatGreetings Ryceballs. Today I am gonna be talking about the differences between selling art and selling meat.Difference between selling Art and selling Meat2 years ago in Personal More Like This
It is absolutely fascinating how different the two can be! :iconyoudontsayplz: ... Well first of all, an artist likes their work to be appreciated and let the audience see for themselves whether they want to buy their artwork or not. While a butcher (ESPECIALLY ASIAN ONES LIKE THE ONE IN THE ARTWORK) only cares about selling the meat and making the profit, they have no sentimental feelings towards what they are selling, because if they do then there won't be any meat to sell right? One of the main rule of a butcher is to have no emotional attachment towards the animals, because they know sooner or later the animal needs to be chopped up. Well what about artists? Well they put their blood, sweat and tears into their artwork to make it as pretty as possible, all in hopes that the audiences would enjoy their art as much as the artist enjoy making them. NOW here's the thing thoug
Questioned by the Hong Kong PoliceSo where was I? Oh yes I was gonna talk about my experiences with the Hong Kong police, so here goes. OK this is the problem, whenever I visit Hong Kong I always have the fear of being questioned by the police, well not exactly fear because I've got nothing to hide, but whenever I am alone walking on the street and a policeman on patrol sees me, they would ALWAYS 100% stop and ask for my ID. For those ain't familiar with how things work in Hong Kong is that if they see a teenager (Especially male) on the street not in their school uniform during school time or with dyed hair or pretty much just 'gangster' or suspicious looking, they have the right to stop you in the middle of nowhere and question you. Now I match every bit of suspicion possible, what they are trying to check is if there's any sort of crime around the area so they can narrow down the suspects, or to check whether you are legal to be in Hong Kong, or whether you've got drugs on you. Anyway when I was in Hong Kong a monthQuestioned by the Hong Kong Police4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Strange and interesting things in PokemonGreetings earthlings and so on. It is I Ry-Spirit once again discussing interesting things on the internet that can sometimes be funny, outrageous, racist, sexist, sad or just simply thought provoking. Lets talk Pokemon because I feel we haven't talked enough about em. Throughout the years there are many things in Pokemon that people find strange, like why Brock's donuts are so different to Homer Simpson's donuts, why a male Mr. Mime isnt called Mrs. Mime, why did professor think there are 150 Pokemon etc. But somethings are even stranger, we go deeper and take a look at some of the strange things in the Pokemon Universe. I have collected materials from my Pokemon researchers and also done a few homework myself to give you this quite interesting entry. I strongly urge you to tell me more interesting facts to add to the journal if you have anyStrange and interesting things in Pokemon4 years ago in Personal More Like This

Why people think art should be cheapI mean some people even think that digital art should be cheaper than traditional, because there is no original. Why people think art should be cheap4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Its funny when people ask tons of things in a drawing, like 30 characters fighting a 12 dragons, and they think they can get it cheaper than a pencil drawing, because in the computer there must be a secret brush that makes all of this in 2 hours.
Sadly, painted style in digital takes more time than traditional. Artists says its easier, because you have more control. But sadly textures are cooler in traditional, and easier.
I remember 4 or 5 years ago when started thinking bout digital, i said damn if i learn digital, i will skip drawings and paint directly, this will make my life easier, it will take me less time to finish a product, like i can even finish 3 drawings in just a day, yeahhh i should try that.
5 years later, i was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo wroonnngggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg.
So i used to think the same about speed, but not about price.

American Internet Censorship Bill Part 2Yesterday I posted a journal about my thoughts on the American Internet Censorship Bill that was being voted on by the House of Representatives. Within minutes of me posting I found out that the bill was defeated by a majority vote (though a very close one). So for now our precious internet is free once again, but it also raises an entirely different discussion...American Internet Censorship Bill Part 24 years ago in Personal More Like This
A lot of the comments I saw on the various websites I went to dealt with upholding the true definition of "freedom" on the internet. It was quite apparent that a lot of people who were upset at the idea of internet censorship were more or less concerned that they might have to be held responsible for their bad behavior online.
See, we all participate in illegal activity online. If you've ever downloaded a movie, or used a torrent, or uploaded images that weren't your own, or played an emulated NES game, or even uploaded video clips from a TV show to YouTube... you're technically participating in illegal activity.

more romantic shit in fiction that pisses me offThere's always been this one cliche in fiction that's been incessantly nagging at me. I take it most of you are already incredibly familiar with high school and campus settings in fiction equipped with the jock, nerd, unobtainable beautiful cheerleader stereotypes and whatnot that's been prevalent in a shit ton of films since forever. So you're probably familiar with the old story of the nerdy/awkward/uncool guy that gets picked on constantly or doesn't fit in who's like obsessed with the hot cheerleader who's going out with the big, mean nasty ol' jock.more romantic shit in fiction that pisses me off4 years ago in Personal More Like This
But something I've noticed is how in a number of these stories the popular handsome jock guy is like the school's BIGGEST douchebag and everyone that doesn't worship him is either deathly scared of him or they at least -know- he's this massive reaming assfuck that shouldn't be messed with or else he'll ruin their lives or some shit so they stay the fuck out of his way.
And the jock's hot beautiful girlfriend will always seem like she's

When I write Kirana e-mail what she need to take for this shoot, it was something like "You need 1 pound of floor and 10 small balloons. No. 20 are better." So, how it was done? We put water in 2 balloons and Kirana stand still, Ten and Fei pop balloons with needles after mine "1,2,3!!!" and in that second I took photos. Easy and hard at the same time.
I will give few advices. We tried to use stick with needle, but it was too lame. It made only a small hole and water pop out like...well...it wasnt cool at all. So much better do it with hands using some strength. Also its really hard for mode

Some months back we put together another Daily Deviations projecteducate week which was quite successful. In light of some of the amazing feedback we recieved during that week, we decided to put together another DD week to highlight some things we were unable to cover last time. During this week we will again focus on some common themes which surround Daily Deviations in our community, and try to shed some light on them. We hope that we will address your concerns, but feel free to ask questions at any time!
For anyone who missed our last DD week, we encourage you to look over those articles as well.

What does your username mean?A lot of the time I read people's username and wonder what they mean, sometimes it tells of their age, their gender and interests. If you get someone called MsNaruto1994 then you can probably tell its a 18 years old Naruto fan girl. However if you get someone's username like Kill982Fuk138, then you just gota wonder and becareful with your conversation with them because they may be psychologically unstable. And I think thats what I wanna understand, what is the history behind everyone's username? Why is Chancake a cake? Why is k-hots so hot? Why is Dragonith a dragon? Why is batwa a bat? Why does Lunaoverthecow have Lucin in her name but I have never ever seen Lucin? When is EXP282 gonna get more EXP? Why is Cry-to-the-wind crying... to the wind? Why is PancakeLament so yummy? Why is fightingleaf fighting a piece of leaf? Why is hummingbird96 a bird? Why is sshoes a storn and not a storm? Why is M-13Beta still in Beta mode? Thanks once again But before we get too happy I would like to once again bring everyone's mood down to a depressing level. I wasn't sure if I should write this in the first place because it really is a sad day and whether the general public should know about this is really questionable, I mean it is supposed to be a family matter and I don't usually put my personal life publicly online unless its funny (Trust me the Ry you see online may not exactly be the Ry in real life, I could be a 50 years old bald man in his Pikachu undies you never know.) But then again I thought if I don't write this online then I won't be very honest with myself, its not like I should hide my feelings just because I don't want the public to feel sad for me. And I do know that I try to be entertaining and funny in most of my journal entries because huNot a very happy birthday4 years ago in Personal More Like This
That art thief SOB in the Artist AlleyOk here it is, the long awaited journal about that art thief guy at Animania a few weeks back, I promised I will write about it and here it is. This whole thing occurred in an anime convention that has been going downhill since a few years back, every year it gets worse and worse, to the point that I am now calling it Emptimania. I don't know if they are just ignorant that there are bootleg stores there, or whether they dont give a duck because hey they get money from people getting a table. Art Theft and Stuff..I'm writing this because I've had a sudden surge of people telling me on my profile and a lot through private Notes that they're finding my work all over the interwebz (and thank you very much! For example, a few people have directed me to small roleplaying Sites that are obviously made by a handful of people. They used my artwork just on profiles to represent the characters ( mainly FF7 based). I feel this kind of use is ok with me. They aren't claiming it, they don't remove my watermarks, they aren't making money off it. They just have a small online RP community and are having fun. I like people to enjoy my work like that and if it contributes, that's kind of nice . ( yes! Art can

If you don't know what SOPA does, dA has actually provided a great journal explaining the bill and the consequences http://hq.deviantart.com/journal/Join-a-SOPA-and-PIPA-debate-280023798?utm_source=deviantart&utm_medium=header&utm_campaignebateSOPA_011712 and this website has a lot of information on how to protest against it http://americancensorship.org/ The fight is not over yet!
No, my journal and icon wasn't really censored. It's to show what would happen if the bill became law.
This one is a bit annoying. Quite a few people were saying "People, stop jumping on bandwagons to be cool!" Or "Why is everyone talking about it now instead of when it first came out? You only care because it's a trend now? I new about it way back in 2011." Um, excuse me, but please don't live in
Studio GhibliA Tokyo based animation studio that needs no introduction! Studio Ghibli is best known for their traditionally animated anime films. It was originally founded by the legendary pair, Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata, back in 1985. Ghibli is named after an Italian war plane that was used for scouting, this reflected Miyazaki's love for not only airplanes but also Italy. The name itself means "hot wind blowing through the Sahara Desert".Studio Ghibli3 years ago in Art Features More Like This
Takahata and Miyazaki
It was formed after the great success of Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, which both Takahata and Miyazaki worked on. Their first feature film hit was Laputa, or some of you may know it as Castle in the Sky. Most of the films that Studio Ghibli produces is by Miyazaki, followed by Takahata, although they have worked with other film producers and directors as well.

Reverse Nice Guy SyndromeI'm just going to dub it "Reverse Nice Guy Syndrome" for now because I don't know if there's a proper title for it, but I've noticed that there's a peculiar little bug that hits various people (although certainly not limited to "guys") that causes them to genuinely believe other people (or certain individuals) "owe" them attraction. In short, it's basically like "Nice Guy" syndrome in that it involves a feeling of self-entitlement, but in this case it can sometimes be a somewhat backwards attempt at empowerment in that the "syndrome" causes people to believe that if another person does not feel attracted to them, physically or otherwise, it is automatically the other person's fault entirely, and they are labelled as "shallow" (or an asshole, jerk, bitch, haughty, etc.) simply because they do not have an attraction to or possess a desire to sleep with the "deserving" individual. Like the "Nice Guy," the person always feels like they are the victim in the situation, and in many cases isReverse Nice Guy Syndrome3 years ago in Personal More Like This
