Happy to come back home from our vacation in Monterey, CA. Our family spent three amazing days there, and I especially enjoyed it since I got to shoot seascape for three days! Here is one of my first shots which I took on Thursday, which was actually the only sunny day during our trip. Please enjoy!

One of the only good sunsets from the Yosemite trip at what I can only assume is Mirror Lake, which is merely a flooded field. The trail was closed further down the way due to a massive 2009 rockfall and the light was fading quickly. I went ahead and posted up here, shooting what I could with my limited surroundings. Since my composition isn't very strong, I felt like the color version was lacking anything interesting for you to look at. Deciding to process in monochrome, I aim to highlight the tonal values, textures and patterns, more so than the scenery itself.

1/13 Update: Reprocessed for less contrast

My first and only morning atop Glacier Point looking down on Yosemite Valley. From seeing so many sunset shots at this location, the idea of a sunrise intrigued me. It definitely didn't dissapoint!

This is a beautiful lake in the area. The water smoothed just as we stopped by. Minutes later you could not see a reflection on the water's surface. So I was super lucky. I hope you all enjoy!
