Saturday MorningFriday night has blended into Saturday morning.
Dawn is approaching and the voices have become boring.
I'm not sure how long this will last
Until all the parties erode away the past.
Then you gently glide behind me,
wrapping your hands around my waist.
I love the way you hug me, this way.
I vaguely wonder what we will do in haste.
I know this feeling is superficial,
But who really cares?
I turn around, looping my fingers through your hair.
Your kiss is shockingly oh so natural.
You would think that time after time
This rush would have grown old.
Yet the flavor of whorish lime
In my current state is what I need to fight the cold.
Not a cold of physical disease
But the cold of a stone hard heart.
I fall on my back with the simple ease,
Bringing her down with me, unwilling to part.
The morning surely comes though.
When I wake, as always, the money is gone,
the whiskey gone, and I take a heavy blow.
I realize I have been left all alone.
Mirror EncountersI wash my face in the sink,Mirror Encounters5 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Leaving my mind racing to think.
When I turn off the tap and look into the mirror,
I can only feel disgust and pure horror.
How could a god make something this ugly?
This tainted, this awful?
How can I go on every day,
Knowing this is what people see?
They say what matters is the inside;
Even I can see the audacity in that.
No one really cares about my heart's guide,
Just if look pretty to the eye.
I begin to cry and weep,
Nothing to hold back the pain from the deep.
I wish to fade to the black, into the ground.
But god, to spite me, will not let my soul drown.
Missing Pieces.I am a missing piece. Something that someone needs.Missing Pieces.3 years ago in Visual & Found Poetry More Like This
But at the same time, I feel so incomplete.
I’ve wandered way too far, wondered for far too long
Am I a missing piece? Or a piece that won’t belong?
Is it possible I’m damaged and not missing at all?
That I’m just as dysfunctional as everybody else?
Pretending to be perfect never softened a single fall.
But neither did admitting that you’re broken and flawed.
A broken missing piece. Is that all I’m meant to be?
There is no master plan that includes the likes of me.
Being all alone, it’s a hurt that will not cease.
A hundred thousand years from now
I’ll still be

And not to me
Her hair flowing in the wind
Her smile raising her cheekbones
He doesn't deserve her
He doesn't love her
But I do
I love her
She speaks to me as a friend
Because she does'nt know
And she doesn't know we could be more
Oh, the things I would do with her
The things I would say
They remain unsaid
I wish I could tell her
My promises I will not break
Yet she runs to him
And not me
He envelops her in his arms
And whispers poetry not of his own
He doesn't love her
But I do
He calls her "babe"
That is not a word you say to the one you love
Nor is "sexy"
She is NOT sexy
She is a beautiful creature sent from the gods
But she doesn't know
And she stays with him
He who doesn't love her
And I have to watch her fall

"never fall in love with something
that can leave you behind."
now I understand, now I know
that humans were
given legs for a reason,
that moving on
is a state of mind on migration.
if I told you I loved you,
would you cut out my tongue?
I can still hear your voice when you said
you could never love anyone else,
and now all I can think is
Perfection, Part IPerfection, Part I4 years ago in Visual & Found Poetry More Like This
The word so nearly incomplete
What a remarkable feat
To see the one you love
Ice cold with white feet
A mirror to reflect the tears
Of a love you once found so dear
Remember the time
When the flower met the dust
But the time faded
Ever-so-slowly with the stars
Mystery lies clear beneath the bones
To shed of the love you replaced with fear
But when all grace came, you made yourself fame
And a million light years away
You met her, walking to your grave
A curious being
A curious feeling
Had she not been the presence
You were wishing for?
Taken from the fairy
A tale whispered so murderously
"I'll be back," her voice was so soft
So sure, "Just before the darkness hits"
So assured was her mother
As the darkness was not for another hour
And her daughter was strong
A wolf-like fighter
Why should she worry
About an unknown stranger?
Walking through the trees
A smile graces her features
Glad to be free
From the cavern she calls home
But the silence of the wind
Spontaneous SnuggleHe smiled as he sneaked up on the couch, his prey slumbering on the other side. He peeked over the top to see his target - his girlfriend slumbering softly, her golden hair flowing around her softly as she slept. He smiled and crept down to the armrest closer to her bare feet and peeked around the corner in time to see her quickly shut her eyes with a small smile and pretend to keep sleeping. He laughed softly and teasingly trailed a fingertip along the bottom of her foot, making her twitch. He trailed a few more times, making her wriggle her feet to avoid as her smile slowly grew, then backed off for a moment then tickled her feet fiercely, making her laugh and curl into a ball which he promptly pounced on and they rolled onto the floor on the blankets that had slid off her, both of them laughing and giggling until they came to a stop on their sides, smiling softly into each other's eyes.Spontaneous Snuggle6 years ago in General More Like This
He smiled and kissed her nose tip teasingly. "I loves you." he said teasingly.
She giggled softly
When I Need YouI may be big I may be strong,When I Need You4 years ago in Urban & Spoken Word More Like This
But listen girly you have it all wrong.
I know you play a damsel and I a prince,
But listen and it will soon make sense.
The armor I carry is heavy and cut,
But underneath are many a cut.
You warm and safe the way I keep it so.
Sitting with the kind of beauty that makes you glow.
So would you open your arms to me now and then,
And heal my body heart and clear away my sin.
Would you once a year smile for me,
So that I might go on till the next time I might see.
Let me lay by you this night as I bleed,
Hold me close and help me as I might need.
And when I open my eyes will you be there?
Will I see you again when next I need care?
Close To MeTake a hand and pull you close to me,Close To Me4 years ago in Urban & Spoken Word More Like This
Eyes filled with tears so thick you can't see.
I'm here for you and I'm not about to leave,
So wipe those tears with your sleeve.
Just lay here and snuggle close to me,
Happy is what I'll make you be.
I'll tell the truth to you,
Smart and beautiful are you.
Once the tears have dried from your face,
We shall make haste,
We can talk and laugh together,
And lay here forever.
Hold you down and tickle you,
Laugh and giggle as I do too.
But when you are better I can leave,
Just yell when you might need me.
I'll be back to help you,
I'm always here for you.

for all of you.
for those who are but are not.
for those who believe love is just a chemical reaction.
for those who are nothing but static on the mainstream radio.
for those who will never know forever.
for those who live in the highs and lows of the roller-coaster ocean breeze.
for those who hurt themselves because they're afraid of hurting anyone else.
for those whose cries have been drowned by the summer rain.
for those who have been mistaken for God.
for those who battle a thousand soldiers of themselves just to find who they really are.
for those who are nothing but natural disasters.
for those who sink somewhere between electric blue oceans and shimmering rainbows of euphoria.
for those whose insanity makes poetry - and those whose poetry drives them insane.
for those who are weighed down by gravity.
for those who have found equilibria in a heart that is caught in a chain reaction of passionate apathy.
Pain and SorrowI want to sprout wingsPain and Sorrow3 years ago in Visual & Found Poetry More Like This
and fly away
there's too much pain and sorrow
for me to want to stay.
I don't want my past
please someone take it off my hands
begging and hoping wont accomplish anything
no one understands.
With each day that comes and passes
my scars spread ever more
spiraling and growing
till my soul's cage and can no longer soar.
There's a searing pain in my chest
never will it cool
the wounds how they burn
and remind me I'm a fool.
Is this what it feels like
to be shot in the chest?
White-hot, excruciating, deadly
maybe death would be best.
I can't escape this hell
and no one will rescue me
I'll just wear my fake smile
so no soul will have to see.
This torment rages on
it's what I have to go through
my punishment, my consequence
for falling in love with you.
Love on Every Inch of YouI love you.Love on Every Inch of You5 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
With the glasses your classmates teased you about when you were little.
With the acne you can't seem to get rid of no matter how much you shower,
how little chocolate you eat,
or how old you get.
With whatever feature you find so utterly repulsive
that you cannot believe another human being would ever see you naked and rejoice.
I love that you are alive.
I love that each breath I take contains a little bit of you,
and of me,
and of every person who has ever lived.
I love pressing my hand to my heartbeat and knowing you feel the exact same thing.
I know you don't believe me.
You can't even consider the possibility.
And deep in your heart you doubt anyone
not just a perfect stranger,
but people who know you down to your last neuron
can really love you.
Do you know what else I know?
I know that it isn't true.
You are precious.
You are beautiful.
You are handsome.
You are every face I have ever wanted to kiss, to touch, to laugh with.
Too FarWhen I try to write about you,Too Far4 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
it all seems so trite,
until I stop thinking and let
my fingers do the talking.
Saucy as that sounds,
it's the truth.
I can tell you more,
with a simple touch,
than I ever could by,
letting the words fall out.
And when you kiss me,
it's like a supernova.
When the rainbows come,
I'll tell them to check
back a little later baby,
cause I'm busy.
And you look at me,
that certain way...
Suddenly, I'm lost in your eyes,
drowning in a sea of green,
breathless and happy,
feeling more than alright.
I come back to earth and
you're grinning at me.
And I love what I see,
your eyes twinkling,
I know all is well,
because you love me.
