Spirit AnimalsSheila walked slowly nervous and lost under the oppressive dark of the trees that night. An owl hooted in the distance, and closer things moved just out of sight. She could barely see ahead under the dim moonlight. She stumbled forward cursing the lack of a lantern or magical lights as the low branches grabbed at her ratty clothes. The plain girl sighed and kept walking hoping to make it to her village before she collapsed from exhaustion. If only she could… Out of the corner of her eye she caught strange light. A blue illumination lit its surroundings like fire. She crept towards it and saw an ethereal wolf! It was monstrous in size and body blazed in blue flame. It lay alone resting on its side. The girl stared at it for a moment awestruck by its mysterious beauty.
Suddenly, the wolf’s head rose and its head and ears slowly searched for what observed it. It clearly had nothing to fear. Sheila froze like

Okay, so I will now write about religion. The religion I am most familiar with (and the one everyone shoves down my throat) is Christianity. I am NOT against Christianity, actually. I am completely okay with talking and being friends with people who are Christians. However, it seems that once you tell them you are an atheist, some of them think you are a horrible Satan-worshipper and they try to 'fix' you. I realize that not all Christians are like that. I have some Christian friends that are fine with people not believing in a deity. These are things that Christians have said (the ones that push religion down your throat). I am writing this from an atheist's point of view.
1.) You don't believe in God? You're going to Hell.

9 Stupid Arguments Against Gay RightsThese days gay rights are a huge issue for many people. There are many people that are for and against it. I am for gay rights. I see a lot of people against gay rights, because, although I am non-religious, I haven't always been that way and still keep in contact with a lot of Christians via social media. My immediate family is also Christian, and mostly against gay rights, even though they avoid bringing up the issue with me. I have never heard a rational argument against gay rights. She had black eyes and they were filled with annoyance over the fact that night had come quicker than she had expected thus leaving her stuck as it was a cloudy night with no moon or starlight to aid her.
“Just what I needed, out here in the middle of nowhere.” Kin Tsuchi muttered to herself, the long haired girl bringing a hand up to run through her hair. She had been going on a task and had expected to make it back home by tonight but of course things had not gone the way she expected and here she was stuck in this thick forest. “Oh well, no point in complaining.” Kin said as she lo
Return of the serpent queenA heavy black suitcase slammed the young lady's bed with a thud!. At the still-young age of twenty, Kuro had just returned from her trip to Egypt. No matter how much her family had tried to talk her out of it, the trip was a joint effort between her and her friend Sarah, and nothing could have changed her mind.Return of the serpent queen6 years ago in Fantasy More Like This
Besides, even though half of her souvenirs had to be mailed specially (customs certainly wouldn't allow such fine things through!), seeing the Sphinx, the Great Pyramids at Giza, and a real open-air market had made the trip well worth the money.
Despite the pleasure, however, only two words that could summarize Kuro's mental state at the moment: Jet lagged. She ruffled her dark blond hair a little; the sun in Egypt had made it a few shades lighter, but it still wasn't quite the Valley Girl bleach blond. Though she had a sizable chest and nice legs, she fit the stereotype of 'female, not feminine' most of the time.
It had been slightly irksome to the natives, who were used t

The town of Canterwall and its attached lands were some of the most bountiful in the country. The land's fertility was both a blessing and a curse. Its bounty brought riches and a good life in exchange for hard, honest work. The curse was the land's location, being the westernmost province of Ustalav. To the west, the badlands of the Belkzen spewed forth bandits and orcs who pillaged and looted. It was for this reason that every citizen was also a local militiamen and held weapons at home. To the south lay the cursed lands of Vyrlich, where the evil taint of the Whispering Tyrant co

Do I deserve love?

And say look at that freak
I'm like a caged animal
Tormented with pain
And when I do something good
The people hate me for it
They hate me no matter what I do

My scars will never heal
Like they did before
I am alone and for all eternity

I was made with the people's evil
They created me because they wanted to be God
But they view me as a mistake
No matter what I do
I am the monster everyone fears
But people do not fear the vampires and wolfmen
They are the beautiful people the people claim
Even though they have "minor" set backs
The vampires spit in my face
The wolfmen kick me into the dirt
The people laugh at the tormented moster

There' no love for me anymore
Why didn't I see that before

To not kill is to survive. You're not really living, are you? No, no you're not. Fools. Idiots. Insolent cowards. How can they even claim to be vampires? They can't! Because they're not. They're puny little creatures with no nerve and with puny little fangs that couldn't pierce a pillow.

Today was not a good one for Xull'rae. Priestly duties were a chore when complying to be a Lolthite. She was not a priestess of stature, but she was one, and the youngest in the entire temple. She knew she had talent and so did all the others; it was why she could and did survive daily. Weak she was now, but strong she would one day become.
This though did not lighten her mood for long. The teasing and abuse today were too heavy.
True, she impaled the bitch that dared to say she was uglier and stumpier than a Duergar. It certainly made the others quiet when she cracked the woman's backbone before sticking the dagger right through her mouth, making it go through the back of her neck.
Yes there were witnesses, but none dared speak against Xull'rae after the killing. Besides she had nothing to greatly fear, the wench back slapped her first and tried to strangle her after Xull'rae had confronted her on the poison in her wine. It was self defense rea

I'd kill them all, but gods in heaven, there are too many to count. I find it sad that the numbers of cowards have gone up over the years. Honestly, vampires that glitter? And they find themselves to be monsters? Heaven help me, as a vampire first, and a man second, what sane person would "glitter"?
Precisely what I thought. They're not thinking rationally. If I was any woman in the world, why would I be attracted to a man that has a shimmering chest? I wouldn't! As a man, I wouldn't be attracted to a glittering woman!
And they call themselves vampires insulting. Disgusting. Utterly wounding, really! I might be sick.
Why do I hate them? Did I not just explain that to you? Humans. You're too slow to bother with. When I was human, I assure you, I was not as slow as you. I w

Faralas awoke, naked, sweating, and alone. The tepee was like a sauna. The phantom feeling of Odessa held in his arms echoed, but she was gone.
This thought became secondary to the realization of what had woken him. The din of battle rang outside the tent. Faralas pulled on his pants. An arrow tore through the teepee. He ignored the rest of his clothes, and grabbed his sword. He gave a hangover-worthy groan under his breath, "Chauntea, please, what now? Chastise me, I should have known better than to entangle myself in the webs of ladies such as these, but guide me hence!"
Rather than opening the flap, Faralas lifted its bottom edge. A squad of eagle knights stood a few dozen feet away, backs to him, shooting arrows at a larger horde of jaguar knights charging from beyond. Faralas realized the eagle knights were guarding him. He wondered if Odessa had been telling the truth the first time; the civilization really was tearing itself apart, perhaps over allegiances to the thre

Mecca was on her way back home from college. It was a cool day outside, the leaves changing color and/or falling off the trees, signifying the presence of the fall season and the fast approach of winter.
That night was Halloween, and although she often didn't give it a second glance, she'd just received a new roommate that semester; a cute roommate, whom she sorta liked, as he did her. This small attraction was probably what drew her to the little Halloween shop, which she strangely didn't recall being there yesterday...
Due to her not being a huge fan of the yearly festivities, on the account of the noise and the cost of goods past “egg-er” and “T.P.-er” protection candy, Mecca didn't have a costume, and, due to their near-equally-busy college/work schedules, John didn't have one either. This ye

I lay back on the cool sand and shivered as water washed over my legs. The ocean felt warm compared to the sand as it had been a cold summer so far. But that didn't matter. It felt like nothing mattered anymore.
See, a few days ago, my parents had broken to me that we were moving. Like many families with a moderately low income, they could no longer afford to live in the nice part of the suburbs and opportunity for work had struck up elsewhere. So naturally, like any good parents wanting to provide for their kids, they leaped on the positions which paid better but required moving farther inland. They would be starting work in two days.
Tonight was my last day here and it really made me sad. Being summer, most of my friends were out of town so I would not even get to say goodbye before leaving forever; or, as my parents put it, "leaving temporarily". Both my sister

Lorelei sighed as she marked off another day on her calendar. Tomorrow was the couple's day, Valentine's Day, another day where she would be alone again. She looked to her mirror and looked at herself, seeing her long fizzy brown hair curl around her face, her thick black rimmed glasses covering her freckled cheeks and her hazel-gray eyes. She was cute in her own sort of way but was probably a little to "academic" for the shallow crowd that occupied today's high schools, and she couldn't help but feel a little ostracized for being who she was. She focused on her studies because it was all she could do since her social life was little to non-existent. She wasn't one for make-up and all the fuss it takes just to be presentable for someone to notice and she hoped that eventually the right one will show up and like her for who she is.
Anyway she thought Valentine's Day was another scam by the retailers to get some misguided guy to pony up some extra money jus
