Return of the Serpent QueenA heavy black suitcase slammed the young lady's bed with a thud!. At the still-young age of twenty, Kuro had just returned from her trip to Egypt. No matter how much her family had tried to talk her out of it, the trip was a joint effort between her and her friend Sarah, and nothing could have changed her mind. Besides, even though half of her souvenirs had to be mailed specially (customs certainly wouldn't allow such fine things through!), seeing the Sphinx, the Great Pyramids at Giza, and a real open-air market had made the trip well worth the money.Return of the Serpent Queen5 years ago in Fantasy More Like This
Despite the pleasure, however, only two words that could summarize Kuro's mental state at the moment: Jet lagged. She ruffled her dark blond hair a little; the sun in Egypt had made it a few shades lighter, but it still wasn't quite the Valley Girl bleach blond. Though she had a sizable chest and nice legs, she fit the stereotype of 'female, not feminine' most of the time. It had been slightly irksome to the natives, who were used to gir

Mike snorted as he looked away from the snow outside his house and went back to his novel.
"Typical." He muttered. "Where's the warm weather we were promised? I hate living here."
His irritability could also have been a result of his less-that-stellar job hunting performance so far. Despite many resumes and applications dropped off, the phone remained persistant in its silence. Living in a small town with under 10,000 people didn't help, either. Just as he began to mope again, Mike's younger sister knocked on his door. "What?" He growled. She wandered in, griinning.
"Still looking for a job?' She mildly teased. "Well, no shit." He shot back, irritated. She smiled. "Well, guess what? The lab at the Hospital needs some volunteers for some experiment. The news claimed it was some big breakthrough

Mecca was on her way back home from college. It was a cool day outside, the leaves changing color and/or falling off the trees, signifying the presence of the fall season and the fast approach of winter.
That night was Halloween, and although she often didn't give it a second glance, she'd just received a new roommate that semester; a cute roommate, whom she sorta liked, as he did her. This small attraction was probably what drew her to the little Halloween shop, which she strangely didn't recall being there yesterday...
Due to her not being a huge fan of the yearly festivities, on the account of the noise and the cost of goods past “egg-er” and “T.P.-er” protection candy, Mecca didn't have a costume, and, due to their near-equally-busy college/work schedules, John didn't have one either. This ye

No one said freedom was free.
Charcoaled bible, ash choked lies
Bull shit words everyone stands by
A Book that will hide the tears you cry
The foolish comfort we live after we die.
A sacred immortality
Hand in hand with freedom we don't see
Inverted symbols equal intolerable fees
A blind-hearted believer is not what I be
Fire burns forever after,
Hymns reduce the joyous laughter
I've got spirit but I don't understand
Structured religion kills the faith that I am.

If we were so devoid of trust,
If we were to decay,
If we closed our eyes in fear,
If we were mortal still,
If instead of far were near,
If we lacked such a skill,
If we were anything but Gods,
If we were human beings,
Perhaps I'd comprehend their thoughts
And desire to steal our meaning.
Their love of science and fear of unknown
Have stripped each God of his rightful throne.

Just like me

You can hide your head deep in the sand

You can whine like a bitch and call people names,
you only show you're not as accepting as your claims.
You can spout your bullshit to your mindless sheep,
we all know that spineless words are cheap.
Being unable to back up those things you speak
and refusing to discuss your ideas just proves you're weak.
You can try to pretend that you're something you're not.
You can live in a lie despite what you're being taught.
But you can't force your idiocy onto those who see

Notice: For those who are wondering, Hilda is the English name for the girl hero from Pokémon Black and White. Hilda is named White in Japan and god knows what else elsewhere. The boy hero of the same games is called Hilbert in the US, called Black in Japan, and god knows what else elsewhere. If anyone is wondering where these name ideas came from, I have confirmed that they both are names from a classic Nickelodeon show called "Hey Arnald". Both Hilda and Hilbert are names of characters from that show. Well, I say that Hilda is a character name from the show, but Hilda is actually a play-on word for a different "Hey Arnald" character named Helga, which is 2 letters off from Hilda. Hilbert, however, is the exact name of a character from the show though I forget which one but I do know for sure Hilbert is an exact character name from the show. If you are from somewhere other then the US, simply replace Hilda with whatever the girl hero for Black and White is cal

Okay, so I will now write about religion. The religion I am most familiar with (and the one everyone shoves down my throat) is Christianity. I am NOT against Christianity, actually. I am completely okay with talking and being friends with people who are Christians. However, it seems that once you tell them you are an atheist, some of them think you are a horrible Satan-worshipper and they try to 'fix' you. I realize that not all Christians are like that. I have some Christian friends that are fine with people not believing in a deity. These are things that Christians have said (the ones that push religion down your throat). I am writing this from an atheist's point of view.
1.) You don't believe in God? You're going to Hell.
First off, telling someone who is an atheist that they are going to Hell is rea

"Thank you," Chrissie responded, keeping her voice cool; not cold, but retracting a little of her friendship. "I have a reservation for two tonight?"
He nodded, looking down at his computer. "Yes, ma'am Ms. Chrissie, right? With a Jake?"
She smiled wider, nodding; "That's right. Table for two, close to the bar; has the hot serving arrived already?"

Just a little boy, faith in God has been destroyed
He took the one-way street going to the church

A smell of myrrh and cheap bless you’s
Don’t you tell, God’s watching you,
It goes on and on and on and on
Priests are, waiting, up and down the path to “God”
Their shadows stalking after rites

You don't know me yet but let me tell you something about me: I'm just an embryo.
I have no conscience and no thought process. I'm just living off YOUR body for now.
I am basically a growing vegetable. I don't have a name. I don't know my name because I don't even know what a name is.
I'm barely a human being at this point. I don't even look like one. As a matter of fact I'm not even the size of a quarter.
I have the the potential to live.
But I have no concept of that so it's really your choice seeing as I'm in YOUR body.
Oh wait, you aborted me.
Cool I don't have a thought process or feelings anyways.
You made your CHOICE. I have no regrets as I was never aware and again I can't feel. Which means I don't even exist to write this parody of a failed guilt trip.
Each abortion made is another woman's choice. A right executed and one less ass to wipe.

Begin againIt has been twenty-five years since Hilda, Cheren, and Bianca went on their adventures, and much has changed, they've all given up on their training careers to chase new hopes and dreams instead. For example: Bianca decided to become a botanist, which was her desire anyway if she couldn't become a model. Cheren became a librarian after being unable to land any other job in any other medium, but however he isn't complaining. Hilda joined to Marines and went through 5 years of training and service, but never really did anything after that because she couldn't get a job, so instead she married a man after losing a bet, but found him somewhat enjoyable to be around so she stayed; and had two kids with him. However as the years went on, Hilda's husband became a little bit more competitive in his workplace's food chain, and just became (for lack of a better word) evil, I know it sounds simplistic and cliché, but he constantly conspired to stab his co-workers in the back after working wiBegin again3 years ago in General Fiction More Like This

In 1956, "In God We Trust" was adopted as the United States official motto. This motto has been on our coins since 1864 and on our paper currency since 1957. In 1954, the words "Under God" where added to the Pledge of Allegiance. The question of whether or not these phrases are constitutional has been argued on all levels, from the dinner tables of average Americans, all the way up to the Supreme Court. I personally believe that these phrases are unconstitutional, but the arguments for it have been so overused that I feel repeating them would be beating a dead horse.
