Storm of the NightStorm of the Night5 years ago in Songs & Lyrics More Like This
In a little tabern of the howling night
Where man and shadows are born
They feast, they talk, they cheer and growl
And drink like there was no sorrow
In service of war they fight to death
Receiving all glory and gold
Except for one fellow, his stories unkown
And all he has is his dreams
To find a land, after spilling blood
Conquering his deepest desires
The dames enchanted, The pleasure taken
And a statue in his great honour
The travellers found the biggest advice
Never fight the cold and the rain
Sometimes the eyes only see the sights
And the storm is the greatest of pain
Ending the travel of life
We seek distant magic places
To claim their ways as our own
But the worst of all
is to wake from the dark
And find you're still in dry land
You get the mightest crew you find
Leading them all to heaven
You're cursed to drown
Your hope will be lost
while your boat fades in the waves

As the landscapes in her eyes
The sky erases her hair
And her features fade into the atmosphere
I follow her gaze
While the world rushes by
The sun sinks
Into a new horizon
The space left behind
Her expression never changes
For it matches my mask
But she remains
A stranger to me
In every glance she is
On the other side
Of the train

The sighing hills
And foreign paradise
That is your home
So I told you
I'll help you get used
To the cold
It's not so bad
Once the clouds
Become your cloak
And the rain
Green, green can be hidden in
Moss covers imperfections
The wind is just another song
Yet to be sung
You'll get used to the cold
It's not all that bad
With words to warm
Red RushWhat is this, blood?Red Rush11 months ago in Free Verse More Like This
It’s slowly dripping
I don’t remember getting cut
But here I am, bleeding
It feels nice though
Another example of me being human
It feels nice knowing I can bleed
I’m not just an emotionless robot
More and more blood
It’s starting to rush now
What is this feeling?
Is this my adrenaline kicking in
Or am I having anxiety?
Whoa, everything is getting lighter
I can hardly support myself
Where did the adrenaline go?
“Well, I guess I’m too human.”
And just like that, he fell to a small pool
Of his own blood, dead

For the banter of a brother
The trust of a friend
And the closeness of a lover
We are but distant and fading stars, lost in the consternation of the ever-senentious sky in the thousands
on the best years of your lifeyou’ll stay up all night studying for tests in classes you don’t even care about and after dragging your nearly dead body to school you’ll fail them anyways and cry because you’re sure your parents are going to kill you. but when you get home they’re in the kitchen screaming at each other and words like divorce are being thrown around and if you try to fucking take my child away from me i swear to god. you’ll sneak up to your bedroom and stare at the ceiling and find yourself too sad to cry anymore.on the best years of your life5 months ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This

There was a knock on the door. Three rapid knocks, then silence.
Olivia put her phone on the window sill and walked over to the door. She opened, and there stood no one but Professor Smith.
“Hi…?” said Olivia, unable to keep the questioning tone from her voice.
“Hello”, said Professor Smith. His English accent rang strong through Olivia’s head after the conversation she’d just had in Swedish. ‘Allo, it sounded like, and she found it adorable.
Professor Smith gave a small smile and adjusted his glasses. Olivia concluded he must have come straight from doing paperwork since he had them on.
“Most students go home for Christmas”, he said. “Even if they study abroad.”
Olivia knew he knew about her father at least to an extent. She had told him. Not the best father figure, she had said, and she had thought that would have been telling enough with the way she said it.
“I like it here”, she repli
Mock (Writing Prompt)Mocking me-Mock (Writing Prompt)2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Everybody is mocking me.
Their eyes are laughing at me,
I want to disappear.
I try to speak,
But they just talk over me.
I try to stand up,
But they push me right back down.
What do I do?
I feel lost,
Even though I know exactly where I am...
My head is spinning,
And they're laughing,
Laughing at my tears,
Laughing at my screams.
Why is everybody mocking me?
It doesn't make sense.
It doesn't make sense!
IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE!
I wake up.
I hope it was only just a dream.
The Devil's Sons(MEETING THE DEVIL)The Devil's Sons2 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
There was once a youth who grew bored of his life in the fields, so he set forth to seek out the Devil and learn his ways. After days and nights of travelling, he came across the mountain so cold that even snow would not settle. Here he called "Oh Devil, will you not let me in so I may learn your ways?" and a small door hinged with bones opened into the summit.
The youth, tired from his journey, entered the door and stepped into a cave black as night. So fatigued was he, that he quite forgot his mission and thought to himself 'I shall rest awhile so as to be fresh when I wake'. For several hours the youth slept deeply. When he awoke, he found seven men of varying ages standing over him. Thinking they wished to harm him, he sprang to his feet and drew his sword.
"Put away your weapon, we have come to take you to our father, the Devil" said they. So the youth sheathed his sword and followed the seven brothers a mile into the mountain. After a while they came to anothe

I don’t know how near it is
Is it here now?
Is it lurking in my shadow just waiting, waiting for a moment to strike?
Waiting for the perfect moment to take me away from all I’ve ever known
I hate to be cliché, but I really want to know
Who would miss me if I were to suddenly disappear?
No, don’t get me wrong, I’m not asking for the attention
I don’t want people to say “Oh honey how could you say that, of course we’d miss you”
No, don’t feed me any of that shit
I don’t crave the answers like some starving animal digging through the garbage for scraps
I’m honestly curious as to who would miss me and why, it’s not that hard to grasp
The end of my existence
I don’t know how far away it is
I don’t know how much time I truly have left
Even the healthiest of people die off of heart attacks, you know
It’s not something you can prevent
I accept the fact that one day I will di

types of girls:
ones who could pull off red lipstick
and ones who could not.
no one ever bothered to correct me
because they thought i was right in my own way-
a four year old girl talking about there being
bad girls and good girls,
but that is not what i meant.
now my knees, spine, elbows crack
with each step i take, bones withering
in the cold winter air, lips cracked and bleeding-
not prettily, either
and i’m trying to learn portuguese
so maybe i can have something going for me
other than bad habits and a tongue
too restless to properly fit in my mouth.
are many things i cringe about but
not very many that i regret.
those mostly involve alcohol tainted
breath clinging to the insides of my teeth
for days, or
the sounds of voices i reluctantly remember
telling me i shouldn’t leave.
i used to think that there were only two
types of girls:
ones with cigarette smoke hanging around their lips,
sorrow burned beneath their eyelids,

Edward rolled off of Bella and lay on his back, staring up into the sky with an expression of disgust. Bella looked over at him, troubled by his expression.
"What's wrong Edward?" she asked. He glanced at her, nothing but contempt in his eyes. Bella shuddered, he'd never looked at her that way before.
"What's wrong?" he mocked. "What's wrong? I search for more than a century and all I can find is a girl with a personality I like?! Hell no! I can do better."
Bella sat in shock, staring at his flawless features. She opened her mouth to speak, but couldn't make words happen.

LunaticI haven't always been like this. I was pretty normal as a teenager. Moody, rude and inseparable from my Nokia phone and Claire's Accessories bangles. Much to my parents' glee (and my personal chagrin) I didn't do at all badly at school. Three Bs in A-Level English, Psychology and Maths. I did one year of a Sociology degree before deciding I was fed up with exams and packing it in. Six months later, my problems started.Lunatic6 months ago in Short Stories More Like This
I was just shy of twenty, living in a studio flat four minutes from Woolwich Arsenal, with a maxed-out credit card, a library of takeaway menus and a Russian hamster called Mojo Jojo. I was working in the canteen at Belmarsh Prison, dishing up slop to a delightful assortment of Category A offenders. The Puberty Fairy had given me cleavage you could hide a pencil case in, so I was expecting the leery comments from the inmates. What I wasn't expecting was the day one of them bit me.
"That must have given you a real shock. Why don't we talk about it?"
I shrug. The man acros

Lying in the cool grass
Of days gone by
And I could get lost
In your blue skies of spider silk
I wake in the half-sweet exhaust
Of some smoker's trail,
The last vestiges of one
Who was so tangibly here...
Sitting with you
under an eternally starry sky
These memories bathed
In perpetual light...
I'm seeing your eyes in everyone else,
And these long-lost memories begin...
It's not them I want; it's you that I crave,
And your waves come crashing again.
Your imprints are everywhere
In everything i see,
Dreaming of a time
When again we would be
Into the familiar abyss,
And the moments that never happened
Are the ones that I miss.
