So... this is how my mind works:

This is one of the winning concepts of my little contest:

A weary, anthro (Cyborg?) 3 tailed kitsune, watchman/woman wearing armour, smoking a cigarette and watching the rain from a… Something.
While vague shadows of people run past.
In the sky is a glow in the shape of a huge bird with a long tail, it seems threatening.
There are flowers (buddleia?? [link]) sprouting out from the walls that are crumbling.
There is a strange peace around the kitsune while tension around…
The place is dank and grimy.
Kinda an area of calm in a choppy, tense sea

Too much to put in a pic, maybe... but I liked the mood.. I kept my favourite elements, and somehow it referred my to my Don Quixote [link] and I thought about other famous knights...

So, this is Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, known as El Cid Campeador (translated as the Battling Lord, or the Conqueror Lord, or something like that) a Spanish hero of the Middle Ages... it is said that he was so great a warrior, that when he died of a war wound, they put him over his noble steed, and sent him towards an army that had his castle in siege... and the army ran away when they recognized him totally terrified, not knowing he was dead. So, he won battles even after he died.

So... maybe it wasn't what you had in mind, Cyborg, but I hope you like it...

And, while you are at it, go visit my beloved girlfriend, who has just arrived to deviantart

Kids, what grandma told you was true. The stork brings babies. And she's from Paris.

Am I sick, or what?

I love retro SF... I love technology that looks ancient (now that's a contradiction)... this, is what I think an astronaut would have looked like, some three centuries ago...

Thanks to for the idea, hope you like it, man.

Well, this is something I wouldn't have thought of myself. I haven't done many fantasy illustrations, I kinda like the exercise. The textures were a lot of fun to do. Back to work.

I saw a picture of a frog... or of a turtle, or both, who knows?

I bet the driver would need a breathing mask there...

This is one of those ideas I just can't let go, a bug chariot. And that's Ganesh, the Indian god of Great Adventures. I'll do something with this idea, sometime.

Wouldn't it be great, riding a four-legged Harley Davidson in another planet? Or is it just me?

It's been a while since I've done color work (well, about two weeks... but that's a lot when the San Diego Con is three months away)... and this one has been traced for almost a month...

Anyway, when that happens I gotta start again by the book: warm light, cold shadow, everything thought out, so I get back in track.

Another chapter in my ongoing quest for the perfect robot...

Oh, and the background sort of is a Guanajuato street... it doesn't do the place justice.

Another of the winning ideas for the little contest, this one by that talked about a phoenix based on water or earth instead of fire.

Well... actually the image of the phoenix as a bird of fire has little to do with the original legend, the phoenix was a pretty boring bird, except for its ability to burn to ashes when it got old and be reborn from the ashes... I played a bit with the idea of doing this as a bird made of water, but decided to go with an impossible fish/bird hybrid. Hope you like it, man.

Thanks for the 40k views, folks!

This was done for a concept art book that suddenly went to the limbo...

I wanted this to say: STEP ASIDE, OR ELSE...
