Serum [Testing] chapter one.Something stirred in the darkness of the den.
Blaze heard it through half-pricked ears; something heavy, but sounding as if whatever it was was trying to be quiet. The dragon curled her lip at the thought of anyone sleeping through that racket. She slowly opened one eye, and as discreetly as she could, swept her gaze around the small den. There was a flicker of movement against the dark tree roots, and she held her breath. Something had just broken the soft stream of moonlight flooding through the entrance. Whatever it was, it was trying to be sneaky
The attack sent the intruder reeling back against the wall, gasping in surprise. Blaze snarled, checked and lunged again.
Prepared this time, the creature shied to the side, eyes flashing- not with anger, but mild amusement. She could easily evade this dragon's attacks; after all she'd grown up with them.
Blaze pulled out of the lunge and turned to renew her assault, spitting fury.
"Calm down Blaze, it's on
EFSP Ch: 1Dib stifled a yawn, trying not to let his eyes droop shut as he stacked a small pile of video discs back into the horror section.EFSP Ch: 12 years ago in Drama More Like This
It had been a long day. Straight after the annual hi skool sports carnival, he'd had to go straight to work, and tonight he hadn't even had time to have a break. He'd been working non-stop since four o'clock and just as he had thought things couldn't get any worse, he'd had to deal with a customer who had broken a video disc and refused to pay for it.
Bored, Dib tried to occupy his mind so that he wouldn't fall asleep against the shelf. He still had another hour of work left, and his boss wouldn't allow him to leave early. He had close tonight, and that meant locking up the store.
Dib was currently alone in the store. The busy hour had just passed and now he was stacking video discs again. He looked at the them as he stacked them, but paid no real mind to what they were, although one did capture his attention.
"Intestines of War," he muttered. "I remember th

The filthy city air stung my eyes and dried my mouth. That afternoon was freezing. A few measly, brittle leaves whizzed by my head in the icy breeze. 'AU-tumm' the hyoomans called this. But I didn't have a thought to spare for their stupid names. I was running, as hard as I could. The dark shadow of another highrise passed, and the sharp glare of Earth's sun slapped me in the face, forcing me to slit my eyes. I spat in disgust, fighting to stay on a straight course. The wind was picking up now, and I felt it whip around my hair and start to tug at the brim. Gasping, I clapped one hand over my head to stop the wig flying away. Even this miserable planet's weather was against me!
I gripped the wig tighter, determined not to lose it now, not with the Dib behind me. I growled. That Dib!
As the wind dropped for a moment, I could hear his running footsteps as he pounded after me; heard him draw a ragged breath to shout my name.
His voice pierced the frigid air between us, and I gritte
The Irken and the Pendulum Ch 12Something was lurking in the dark recesses of Zim's subconscious. In a gradual transition, the peaceful emptiness disappeared, leaving a surreal kind of darkness, like the surface of a deep black ocean. Inside it skulked random thoughts that buzzed and flashed before Zim's mind. He tried vainly to grasp some, but it was like catching flies or slippery eels they simply skirted his outstretched 'claws'.The Irken and the Pendulum Ch 121 year ago in General Fiction More Like This
His mind squirmed and flailed in helpless confusion, trying to latch onto some kind of reality; and hold. The first thought that came back was a sense of déjà vu. The Irken had felt this sense of random, floating surrealism before, but where, when? In what dimension?
Slowly and reluctantly, other thoughts and memories floated home. He could remember fire. Crumbling, eroding walls. Gold
Dib had almost dozed off when he sensed something stir. He sat up with a whipcord movement, immediately yelping as the action mildly jarred his back,

The words rang in Dib's ears as he walked home. Those three words hurt him more than anyone expected. Especially the one who had said them.
It hurt more than when people called him 'insane' or 'crazy'. More than when his family ignored him.
He walked up to his front door, opening it, and looking around. No one was there, leaving him alone once more. A tiny thought rang behind the words, forcing him to go to his room, slowly.
He didn't want to do what he was about to do, but he knew it was the only thing to end the hurt.
He walking into his room and stepped up to the closet, opening it slowly. He tossed away several devices from his paranormal magazines, throwing them across the room. He stopped when he came to a camo green metal box.
Dib pulled it out, walking over to his bed, and placed the box there. He opened it, revealing a gun along with bullets.
Zim walked slowly after Dib, hoping he wouldn't be seen. The human had walked away from him in the middle of t

"I have to. Get inside before the rain melts your skin off."
Dib tried to pry his arm free, but Zim clung to him with a death grip, almost cutting off the circulation to his hands.
"I don't care about the rain. I care about you."
"See, this is why we can't stay together! Your so stubborn and you never listen to a single word I have to say. You don't respect me."
"I respect you, Dib-love! I love you! Please don't leave me!"
"Do you? Then respect me now and let go. Let go of me now, Zim."
"If I let you go, I'll never get you back! Stay with me, Dib. We can be happy together. The world means nothing to me. I don't want to destroy it. If you leave, I'll have a reason to blow it to pieces! I love you! Can't you understa
