A close look at the stunning McWay Falls in Big Sur at sunset as an incoming wave meets the backwash.

This is a place I've wanted to visit ever since I first saw an image of it and when I realised by chance a recent trip to California put me only a few hours away I couldn't resist popping down for a peek.

The Cloud Gods may not have been smiling down on me that day but it was an amazing place to soak up and I walked away with a handful of shots I'm reasonably happy with. Can't say fairer than that! More 'traditional' shots still to come.

P.S. - Apologies for absence lately, life has been a bit of a blur these past couple of months but I'm gradually getting caught up and back into the swing :)

A picturesque sunset above the famous limestone arch Manneporte near Étretat. In the pictures foreground: gorse shrubs in full bloom at the beginning of April - very typical for this region.

After spending 3 weeks shooting in northern france I released the results on my website. I'll upload them here on DA during the next days.

If you want to see them now you can check my website: [link]

I had about 14 hours straight of nature photography today attempting to capture Utah's spectacular Fall Colors, from sunrise to this amazing sunset, it was a memorable day.

Dramatic sunset light over a ripe field of wheat as a summer storm approaches in rural Warwickshire, England.

Probably the best light display I caught last year - one of those times you sense it can surely only be moments before it starts to royally piss it down! Makes me wonder if it's wise to be running around on a hilltop with a big metal tripod, but the adrenaline and rush to capture the light always overrides any urge to think rationally (thankfully!). Fun times... and the soaking was pretty refreshing too :D

A few minutes later from the bottom of the hill:

Perfectly tugged away and sheltered from the ever apparent winds during sunset, sits this little tarn in the Estany D'Amitges area of the park, enjoying the sweeping view and huge drops with a few selected people, marmots and chamois. In the distance, the peaks of Els Encantats and Subenoix (correct me if I'm wrong) loom over the Sant Maurici valley.

Ostler Peak in Utah's High Uintas mountain range catches the last rays of a sunset. The smoke from the fires spread across the state give the unobstructed sunset light a fiery orange haze, adding to the drama of an already dramatic landscape. You can see the nearly full moon making an early appearance in the top left of the image.
