Ghosts of your past;
on your mind, in your way.
So swing your sword;
They're of your kind: the walking clays.
Forget your hopes:
fight to exist, and live to kill.
There's no way out:
you just persist. More blood to spill.
it reigns your life, it makes you dream.
This fight :
is what you are, a neverending bloody stream.
it's reigned by godhand's evil grin
Awake - and let your sword spin.
So you awake:
a bloodthick night, the nightmare's end.
You start to shake:
another fight, a bleeding brand.
You want to rest:
the dawn is near, you fall asleep.
You start to dream:
your head is clear, you're falling deep.
it reigns your life, it makes you dream.
is what you are, a neverending bloody stream.
it's reigned by godhand's evil grin
Awake - and let your sword spin.

No one knows why the wars started. Or when. Or why. Just that they are.
I have been to every part of this universe. My feet have made the ice fields of Ilazki sing. I have felt the burn of the sun on Chromandae. I have spilled blood in the arena of Gegenes and washed my hands in the seas of Icaunus. I have haggled with traders in the bazaar on Adur and felt the thrum of the steam engine trains on Atarrabi. I have even stood on the steps of the Academy of Lugos and heard the hum of the electrified defenses mingle with the quiet chorus of night city sounds.
But, before this, all I remember is waking—
The last remnants of something beautiful had faded away, and then I was abandoned. I was betrayed.
My knees against icy ground, I tried to rub away the red stains on my hands but they were too thick; they
Twilight Ch. 1I admit it. I'm going into this project extremely biased. I hate Twilight. And while there are fantastic sporks of this rancid series (look up Das Mervin on LiveJournal), I wanted to do a spork based mainly on the domestic abuse issues that this series is infamous for. As a criminology major and a women's studies minor, the subject is close to me.Twilight Ch. 13 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
So here we go!
The little plot synopsis is pissing me off. It mentions how "realistic" Bella and Edward's relationship is. This is actually dead-on. Vampires aside, this book is scarily accurate on how abusive relationships work from the woman's viewpoint.
Hmm, dedicated to her big sister Emily. Funny, she shares the name with a character who is also in an abusive relationship. Please, please, please let this be a case of unfortunate implications.
Already the preface is setting up how vulnerable and weak our lovely protagonist is. Gender stereotypes at its finest, folks. Aww, dying for your love, nevermind how they would feel becuase you were

Is that it?
Is that, why we smile?
Just before we start a fight?
Just to spread lies of one's might?

Star Wars - The Weak Will Perish
The tremor that passed through Darth Sear's vessel told him that he had landed on the planets surface. He was excited. Despite the fierce battle being fought over head, he had felt the Jedi break off from the republic fleet and make his way down here. What was so important, that the republic would allow such a powerful asset to abandon them mid battle? The Sith lord wanted to find out. Mostly, he wanted to test himself against the so called might of the Jedi. He had only ever encountered the Jedi once before. A Padawan. His master had slain him with ease. Now it would be his turn. The exit ramp slowly began its descent, revealing the grey sandy surface of the planet. Darth Sear walked out into a sand storm. This was of little consequence to the Sith, considering his cybernetic eyes. He scanned his surroundings, the darkening sky lit up with the fire of battle, his dark robes violently fluttering in the wind. He f

"I'm proud of you kid," said Anderson.
"Just remember you were a human before you were a Spectre, you represent all of humanity with your actions," said Udina.
"I won't let you down," said Shepard confidently.
Anderson stepping down and giving Shepard the Normandy? It didn't feel right to her. Pushing papers wasn't his thing but he wanted to give her every chance to succeed in this mission. She knew how much this meant to him and she wasn't going to let

Ponyville Ghostbusters Chapter 2
It was a typical day the the Ponyville Ghostbusters Headquarters. Everypony was busy and hard at work. Tex and Riotfire were working on the Ecto-B vehicle. Tex, a tall black stallion with a perfectly styled brown mane, had been with the Ponyville Ghostbusters for the past 10 years. It was his life and he would not have it any other way.
"I can't believe B blew a gasket." he said in a gruff voice.
"I know you love it Tex, but B is an old car and it's going to have problems from time to time." replied Riotfire.
Riotfire was the mechanic here at the station, and was also Tex's oldest friend. Grease was usually found staining his lovely brown coat and blue mane, but none was ever found on his wings. Others always asked him why he left it for so long, but the simple answer was that it made him feel clean.
Tex wiped sweat from his brow and found his eyes wandering to locate Cloud Crash. He found her along with Abby over by the proton packs. Abby was a slende

Any C-Sec personnel found asleep while on duty will be reprimanded.
Garrus tapped a talon anxiously against the desk as he ran through the surveillance vid for a fifth time. His eyes scanned over the digital crowd, searching for his suspect, a Blue Suns weapon dealer who had been alluding C-Sec for the better part of a month now. The case had only been turned over to Garrus a few days prior, when a rumor surfaced that the merc might be dealing heavier weapons--namely a shipment of M-920 Cains.
Should that rumor be true, some lucky, rich sons-of-bitches would wield weaponry capable of decimating entire blocks at a time. Garrus didn't even want to think about the damage they could cause within the Citadel, in crowded areas.
The footage bled into Garrus' eyes. Each figure seemed to blend into the next until he could make out little more than a blob of movement. With a groan, he paused the vid, reclining back and rubbing the fatigue from his e

They plague me, they haunt me, they scorn me, they laugh at me. And, somewhere within my frail, shaking mentality, I know that you are the cause of this. I know that you are the master puppeteer within my dreams. I know that you are the creator and the curse at the same time, the god and the demon, the light and the dark.
I dream of dying again and again, the guillotine rising and falling again and again in an unending dance of destruction and death. I dream of a woman with red lips, a man with a mask, of dying with a pen clutched between my fingers. I dream of eyes, of cruel laughter, of a final fate. In my dreams, I can finally see, while in reality I am nothing more than blind.
Why won't my heart stop?
I sit crouched at the table long into the night, afraid of closing my eyes lest they come back to me again and again, yet somewhere in my mind I am addicted. Somewhere in my mind I long to see them again. I sit as though chained to my desk, m

Blast overpressure, whilst the principle cause of severe injury, appears to have been interrupted and lessened by nearby structures. As such, potential injury was reduced and a likely fatality outcome avoided. Although my body &c.

I love you.
Sure, I do... when I stop being addicted to reading.
I hate you.
... That sounds much better.
But when I'm not with you, my curiosity is sparked, and you envelope my mind. Yet when I'm with you, I think you are the most pompous human being I have ever laid eyes on.
So, then, why when you told me you were in love with me, my heart inflated and I was crying tears of joy and pure, unadulterated happiness?
I love you. I hate you. I love you. I hate you. Those were the only words I could think of. I love you. I hate you. I love you. I hate you.
And finally I make a decision. I looked him directly in the eyes and said: Kiss me you idiot.
He kisses me with a passion I never knew he had, and our souls, hearts and fates entwine with that one moment of passion.

Sergeant Major Avery Junior Johnson was undoubtedly the most badass soldier to live aside from the Master Chief Spartan 117.
Avery Johnson's behavior seems to be eccentric, often delivering outlandish speeches to boost the morale of those serving under him. However, as shown in Contact Harvest, when it came down to it, he was a no-nonsense NCO, who, although caring deeply for his troops, pushed them hard during training. He first came into our world back in 2001 with the release of HALO: Combat Evolved, where he delivered his most well known speeches.
"Men, we led those dumb bugs out to the middle of nowhere to keep 'em from getting their filthy claws on Earth. But, we stumbled onto something they're so hot for, that they're scrambling over each other to get it. Now I don't care if it's God's own anti-son-of-a-bitch machine or a giant hula-hoop; We're not gonna let them have it! What we will let them have is a belly full of lead and a pool of their own blood to drown i

The shotgun's bark thundered across the tunnel, the muzzle flash suddenly banishing the darkness for a split second. It was a split second but in that one brief moment the enemy was seen: several ragged men in dusty overalls with picks, mattocks and pistols. They added their own chaotic noise and flashes to the chaos. The enemy had the numbers, the defenders could only hope that they could hold out as long as possible until reinforcements arrived.
Mining was always a very delicate undertaking. Even more so when you were digging underneath enemy positions. Things could get even hairier if the enemy knew that you were down there, then they would send their own diggers in against you. Mining and counter-mining, collapsing tunnels, raiding enemy tunnels. It was all part of the daily underground grind that took as many lives as on the surface.
A demi-squad of Death Korps combat engineers was busy putting the final touches on a special operation objective when the enemy broke through with a

If you had wings, would you fly? Would you spread your quivering feathers and take flight to worlds unknown? Would your heart beat as fast as your wings against the wind? Would you fly alone or with brethren? What path would you take across the skies and why?
If you had paws, would you run? Would the pads of your feet and the sharpness of your claws beat against the earth below? Would you nurture your young in the warmth of your den, leaving only at night to engage in the eternal hunt of the prey? Would your pack of friends guard your back like they guard their own life, or would you slink alone in the darkness, content to scavenge a living off of the backs of others?
And if the sea was known as your home, would you stay in the shallows; in the safety of the sight of the sun? Or would you dare to probe the dark and unfathomable depths that lay just beyond the shoreline. Would you use your strong body, and lithe fins to propel you forward into that unknown abyss?
