A pale moon rising,
The bat she leaves the belfry
The vampire's on the wing.
Her bright eyes are red lightning
She rides the sky like thunder,
The yearning is upon her
She seeks to slake her hunger.
Her preternatural hearing
Captures sounds from far below,
A young thief alone is walking,
Her urge begins to grow.
Landing, she takes human form
Concealed behind a tree,
Classidia's the beauty all in black
With skin like ivory.
Her fluidity of movement,
Brings her within his sight,
An enchantress of such promise,
A Dark Angel of the night.
He moves towards her willingly,
With only passion in his eyes;
But the depths of hers shows hunger,
And she soon will take her prize.
Classidia chokes back her thirst
As she knows she must delay,
For only when the time is right
Can she dare to strike her prey.
Bewitching and beguiling,
With beauty like a rose bud,
She draws him in so carefully,
For fear would spoil his blood.
Provocatively, she throws back her cape,
In the ultimate tempt
a questionOk I got a question... if we have to give rich people and big business more tax cuts, because they are "job creators"... so my question is, you've had these tax cuts for at least 8 years now, some for 11 years, and where the are the jobs????a question1 year ago in Editorial More Like This
George Bush gave you tax cuts in 2001, and more in 2003... you have had them all this time, but instead of creating any jobs, you've lost jobs!!!!! So give me this crap about tax cuts creating jobs... what are they going to do if we don't give them tax cuts, not create even more jobs????? And why should we let the rich and corporate jackals hold us hostage?
Tax cuts at the expense of the middle class does NOT create jobs... what creates jobs is increased demand for products and services... if a business needs more workers to keep up with demand, they will hire those workers, tax cuts or no. Handing money to businesses that have no increased demand for their products destroys jobs, because instead of trying to find a way to improve and make a produ

Paralysed By Perfection
When you visualise the outcome
all you can see is failure.
You can't imagine anything good
It seems like a lot of work to start,
an enormous hurdle.
You might not like what you do,
it might be an embarrassment to yourself.
If you don't show it anyone then who will know
so does it matter?
It feels weird to start, forbidden and uncomfortable.
What if ideas don't come? What if it can't be expressed as I like?
I try to remember Bob Ross and his 'happy accidents'.
Does anything excellent come from the first attempt anyway?
Probably sometimes when you're in that flow
but if you've been locked down and blocked
from even starting for years it is kind of unlikely.
Even writing this seems wrong.
I'm not writing it well enough or expressing myself correctly.
What am I really scared of?
After all I can rearrange this and I can change it afterwards.
I can spend as long as I like on it.
I can NEVER show it a damn soul.
Is it that if I make something I don't li

Ever since the 2012 election, there has been an ongoing discussion about how the republican party can regain it's influence. Many ideas have been put forward, basically from two camps. The moderate republicans say they need to find a way to appeal to the general population more, basically becoming more "center-right" and then there is the bat-crap crazy, ultra-conservative wing (sometimes called the TEA Party) which firmly believes becoming even more intransigent, more unintelligent, and basically, far more bat-crap crazy, is the way to win elections... I think anyone with a bit of sense can see that we need not deal with that concept at all.
So we are left with the idea of the republican party must become more "center-right" and then they will win. And along those lines, we see a number of ideas... most of which boil down to a simple idea: repackaging the republican party. But what exactly does that mean?
Depending on who you listen to, it means

Another night had dragged on by
And again he'd hardly slept.
He felt he should remember something,
That he almost had forgotten,
But when he tried, the thought turned to dust,
Like a parchment that is rotten.
He knew the name Classidia,
And saw the image of a girl,
Bur also blood and violence
And darkness in a whirl.
Yet there was no fear of the name
Or the thoughts he had in part,
And somehow he must find the truth
To fill the void within his heart.
Three nights ago he was attacked
Of this there is no doubt,
But the details were elusive,
Had he only been knocked out?
Was it just a blow, to the head
The doubts inside him cried,
But the name, Classidia, called to him
And would not be denied.
"I'll retrace the steps, that I know,
of my Ill-fated walk that night;
Then perhaps out of the darkness,
At last I'll gain some light."
Moving now towards his door
He felt a coldness in the air,
And reached to take his heavy cloak,
My Thoughts About The Election We have just seen, in the United States of America, the first mixed race African-American and Caucasian President re-elected for his second term. First and foremost, what I would call the most important thing the Republican Party should learn from this is that you cannot infringe on the rights of citizens. If you try to take away the rights of women, of immigrants, of people with alternative lifestyles, you will continue to lose. This is the Twenty First century guys... things have changed, and you REALLY need to get with the times.
Second, it is very very evident that the American people no longer believe the old conservative line (or should I say lie?) about tax breaks for the wealthy creating jobs. You need to look no further than recent history, each time we have chosen a Republican and enacted these sorts of tax cuts, we have lost jobs

Whilst dreaming of the sun,
A million stars may light the night,
But for her there's only one.
Many years have drifted past
Since last she saw a sunrise,
The Dark Angel with a heart of gold,
And The Vampire Queen still cries.
Times flies if you are having fun,
You don't notice that it's passing;
But when one becomes immortal,
Then it's truly everlasting.
One can face eternity
If there's someone there to share it,
But her anger just feeds madness,
And no longer can she bear it.
The evil Nemset took her life
In more than just one way;
She was brought across, her lover died,
On that Godforsaken day.
Alive, not living; dead, undead
A solitary night-time dancer;
To truly be, or not to be,
For her this is an answer.
"I'll forsake my vow to take revenge,
Nemset may go his way;
To end my lonely torment,
I'll face the break of day."

A Questionby Charles Kunkle Jr (fraterchaos)A Question8 months ago in Editorial More Like This
Recently, we've all been hearing a lot about the Keystone XL Pipeline and "Tar Sands Oil". There has been much said and written concerning this, both pro and con. And with the recent pipeline spills, the subject seems to be heating up. But there is a question that, so far, I have not heard anyone asking, and most certainly have not heard anyone even trying to answer.
Now, granted, it's possible someone has asked this question, and it's even possible it's been answered, and I simply missed it, but I'd still like to know the answer, if there's anyone who can actually explain it...
Basically, it boils down to this: Why build this pipeline in the first place? The standard story is that we need to pipe this "tar sands oil" to someplace in the USA where it can be refined, but I have to ask, why? Why can't it be refined closer to where it exists?
Don't tell me that it's economica

In the wake of the tragedy in Newtown Conn. this past week, there's been a lot of stuff bandied about, and I have made no secret of my opinions about the subject. Personally, I fully favor a semi-automatic assault weapons ban, and a ban on high capacity magazines. I have met with a good deal of opposition on this, by people who make numerous claims and excuses and arguments that to me, simply don't wash.
One of the things we've been hearing a lot of, is the "arm the teachers" argument. In some ways, this almost sounds like it makes sense... if those teachers had had guns, they could have shot the shooter... and of course the people who suggest this always include the idea that the teachers must also be trained to use guns safely... as if that somehow excuses all the arguments against this idea. But allow me to explain why I find this argument less than persuasive.
I went to a very large high school. I believe we had over 2000 stu

On Friday, in Jacksonville, Florida, Michael Dunn, a 45 year old man shot to death a 17 year old black teen over loud music. It seems that Jordan Davis was a passenger in a car with some friends, in a parking lot of a convenience store, and the teens were listening to loud music on the car stereo. When Mr. Dunn ordered them to turn down the music, they ignored his demands.
Apparently, this gave Mr Dunn all the excuse he needed, to begin firing randomly into the car. He fired at least 8 times, yet only hit Davis (or anyone else) twice. And after the shooting he fled the scene. Bystanders got his license plate number and he was arrested, charged with Second Degree Murder.
Now that Mr. Dunn has hired a lawyer, he now has a story. He claims he "thought he saw a shotgun" in the car, and feared for his life, and for that reason, he was acting in self defense under the controversial Stand Your Ground Law in Florida.

Sliding off a plastic face,
To fall at no ones feet.
Crystal pools of liquid life,

Can the result of so much torment,

Will the tears of endless suffering
Bring life to a desolate plain?
If so, there is no shortage,
For the tears fall like rain.

But what of Love?
Is it just all malice?
Yeah; Stuff the Rabbit!

The suns rays shone like normal on that day.
Maybe, he thought, today they would continue to play!
He longed for his wearer to wake but as he knew,
His owner liked to play jokes on him too.
He knew his owner so well, the tricks he liked to show.
Makes others so mad that even Cho Gath refused to grow.
Was he the one who tricked Malzahar to enter the Void?
Though out of everyone, Shaco still seems to be the most annoyed.
King Tryndamere and Queen Ashe fired him as their jester,
They just couldn't let Shaco's nature continue to fester.
He made them laugh as the object of ridicule and pain.
How his pride was hurt, a state that is hard to attain.
What makes taunting others so much fun?
Is it seeing their pain? Oh it makes my threads shake!
I don't think even Shaco realizes the damage he has done.
The innocence and happiness he seems to take.
As I waited for Shaco to come down I continue to think of the past.
How, even under constant hate, he continues to last.

"As a child I used to jump off the roof of my house, it was all part of a fiendishly clever scheme to force my body to evolve wings and fly free around the world."
This sentence is incorrect. The comma alone isn't strong enough to hold a sentence together; I guess it hasn't spent enough time at the gym. A comma is only a breath or pause, not a transition. To put it simply, I have just violated the comma by using it in ways it should never be used and it may now require months of intensive therapy.
"As a child I used to jump off the roof of my house. It was all part of a fiendishly clever scheme to force my body to evolve wings and fly free around the world."
This is correct.

Lucky for us we knew that he went to a long long time ago, we could tell cause the box is covered in dust and all the letters on the side is faded away...like all things that’s from a long long time ago. We decided that we should probably paint new letters on the sides before we go. It won’t go very far with letters that’s already faded. Oh...and maybe we could also make one or two other adjustments while we are busy...
We've built our own time machines before but none of them worked very well. They couldn't go back in time, they could on

The air was thick with the sterile and antiseptic bouquet common to any laboratory. I could just distinguish the top down odors layered one upon the next, all used to cover up the foundation scents of urine, sweat and death; traits common to environments where the most ingenious of all animals on this planet perform experiments on its' distant cousins.
Startling us, with a jump every few moments, were the sounds of the rhesus monkeys, rabbits, birds and other animals caged and stationed all throughout this wing of the research facility. Walking down the old dark halls gave me the creeps a little. We passed one locked room after another, from one blackened shadow to another and my self-manufactured distress began to mount. I suddenly found myself torn from my agitation by a pitiful anguished cry that rang throughout the hall, drowning out the other noises which had been prickling at us. A shiver ran through me and I felt Rachel grab my
