Many people have talked about the "endings" or lack thereof to Mass Effect 3. I am not here to do that. I agree that the "endings" sucked, but that's not the point of this.
Rather the point of this is to address how Cerberus should've been handled in Mass Effect 3, as an evil organization. There was some discussion of this before the game came out, but the "endings" kind of blew that away. Understandably. Nevertheless, I think the issue should be addressed.
Some people felt that Cerberus doing what they did in Mass Effect 3 makes sense, up to and including the Illusive Man putting Reaper tech into himself, thus indoctrinating himself. They point to the Mass Effect comic Evolution, where he was exposed to (what might have been) a Reaper artifact, and thus, indoctrinated since then. Leaving aside the fact that many fans never read this comic an

A young turian leans against the wall, eyes constantly performing a tactical sweep. His black and blue armor gives off a small sheen from the overhead lights. A green targeting visor rests on the right side of his face. He turns his head to one side, "Cassie, you almost ready?"
A voice comes from within a large mass of wires and cables. "Will you stop nagging, Gabe? This isn't as easy as it looks. I'm having trouble finding the right connection. If I pick the wrong one, I could shut off the artificial gravity….or worse, life support."
Gabriel Vakarian sighs to himself, "Hillary? What's Aya's status?"
A calm, calculating, female voice sounds in his earpiece. "Our fearless leader is about to meet with Aria. Oh…..we have a slight complication."
"Aunt Kaycee's here."
"Oh, spirits…..we are going to be in so much trouble. Cassie? Better hurry up. Aunt Kayce

Kaidan wasn't usually a jealous creature. He'd never been particularly greedy when it came to his lovers; them having friends of the opposite gender had never really bothered him.
But this was different, this was Shepard.
Commander. God-damn. Shepard.
The one thing Kaidan had always prided himself on was his level-headedness, his ability to access the situation calmly and professionally. But it was near impossible to keep himself restrained around Emmet.
The man had this most infuriating habit of making Kaidan lose his cool when near him.
One such instance was just now. Liara; sweet, kind, helpful Liara and her stupid, touchy-feely blue hands on Emmet. His Emmet.
They had been discussing Mordin, the Salarian who gave his life for curing the Genophage that he'd worked on, a few paces away from K

It had been long and tapered (starting a few inches away from the corner of his mouth, trailing puckered skin dangerously close to his eye and disappearing into his hairline over his brow) and was something only Emmett Shepard could have and still look painfully sexy doing so.
Kaidan had loved that scar.
To him it demanded his attention and was a few times caught staring at it.
On one or two such occasions, Emmett shot him a cheeky grin ("finished admiring how ugly my face is, LT?") to which Kaidan would splutter and apologies with a burning neck and hot ears.
It was something that most would find hideous, but he wore it with pride, his 'battle trophies' as he used to call them. He had many, on places he'd shown Kaidan (arms, legs, the one on his hip from getting into a scuffle with a drunkard at a bar. a few with hilarious stories attached and a few with nightmares that followed with a pained, vacant look from Shepard) and

Kaidan could get used to the rude wake-ups, the morning drills, running in the middle of pouring weather, knee-deep in water. He could get used to the sorry excuse they called food, the latrine duties and the constant yelling from his superior officers.
Hell, he could get used to underwear constantly riding up his ass because of the friction from his pants.
He wasn't sure if he could get used to the buzz-cut though. His scalp was constantly itching and when he looked at himself in the mirror, all he could see were eyebrows. Huge, dark eyebrows. He wondered if he could ask to have those shaven off as well.
Other than that, life at boot camp wasn't bad. He'd been here a month already and he found that he was actually enjoying his time here. Sure, it was hard work, but it wasn't anything he couldn't handle.
He was already used to wearing a uniform from his time at BAaT, used to surprise inspections and being worked until his body was crying out in pain.

Spectre Borealis reporting in. We've been getting disturbing reports of new Reaper forces taking the battlefields across the galaxy. Here's what we've learned thus far about them. I'll update this report as news comes in.
Species: Reaperized Hanar
Type: Underwater Combat
Description: The Hanar husks have been altered on a cellular level, leaving each tentacle ending in a serrated stinger or blade. In addition to the physical changes, an unknown means of propulsion has been implanted in their form, allowing them to fly through the water with relative ease. The Hanar's body glows various shades of blue or green depending on its purpose, for which there are two that we've seen. One, the blue husks seem to be the melee forces, getting up close and personal with our soldiers, tearing their hydro-suits with only a few strikes. Once they try to surf

Kaycee drapes her arm over her daughter's shoulders. She can scarcely believe how quickly she's grown up. Just seems like yesterday that Ayrene was barely up to her knees, now a tall, slender, beautiful woman stands beside her. She gives her an affectionate squeeze, "So what do you think sweetie? Ayrene's eyes take in the flashing lights, the pounding music, the dancing patrons, and she smiles. "You really are the coolest dad ever. Mom would completely freak if she knew you brought me here."
Kaycee imagines the fury that would come down on her if her wife knew where they were. She shudders at the thought, "Don't remind me Aya. Now, shall we have some fun?"

She carefully hops off her bed, wrapping her blanket around her shoulders from the cold, and picks up her teddy bear, Athena. Syren shuffles over to the curtains and peeks around them, standing on tiptoe to see over the window sill. A small gasp escapes from her, followed by a quiet giggle. White, as far as the eye can see, the entire countryside covered in a thick blanket of snow. Realizing that it's Christmas morning, Syren quietly shuffles out of her bedroom, moving one door down on the right, "Aya? You awake?"

I turned to the newest member of my crew, Kasumi Goto, a thief so legendary that few know of her. We needed her on our side, according to Cerberus at least. Before she could give me her undivided loyalty, she had a favor to ask of me. How could I refuse? I was anxious to see her skills put to the test, so I had agreed to help her.
