[Tutorial] Transferring Character Morphs G1 to G2(Updated for new features in DS 4.6.2.)[Tutorial] Transferring Character Morphs G1 to G21 year ago in Personal More Like This
I've been hearing a fair amount of complaints about Genesis 2 Female lately, and I understand; I said many of the same things when it first came out. I should've known better, because I also did this when Genesis came out, but sometimes we live and learn slower than we'd like.
One of the most common, and most easily answered, is "I already have a bunch of characters for G1 that I can't recreate on G2." For this purpose, G2 refers to Genesis 2, not the old Poser G2 figures.
Well, as a matter of fact, you can. With practice you can do it in seconds per FBM (don't let the length of the tutorial fool you). The first version of this workflow came from Kattey on the DAZ forum, for which I acknowledge credit.
Here is that (lengthy) thread: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/viewthread/24093/
Here's what I've been doing myself.
First of all, however: there are two ways to recreate a character. There is the easy wa

THAT'S RIGHT YOU ARE A SHOE.
THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT NOT BEING A SHOE BECAUSE IN MY MIND YOU ARE ONE AND THAT IS MOST UNFORTUNATE.
AS LONG AS I HAVE YOU CONCEPTUALIZED AS A SHOE IN MY IMAGINATION YOU SHALL REMAIN AS SUCH.
THIS MAKES ME WONDER WHETHER ALL PEOPLES AND OBJECTS CAN BE CONCEPTUALIZED AS SHOES AND THUS BECOME SUCH, GRANTING ME ABSOLUTE POWER OVER THEM. DOES SNIPPY HAVE A CLEVER ARGUMENT? NO HE DOESN'T, HE'S A SHOE. SHOES CAN'T HAVE CLEVER ARGUMENTS.
I FEEL LIKE THE WEIGHT OF THE WORLD HAS BEEN LIFTED OFF MY SHOULDERS NOW THAT EVERYTHING IS UNDER MY CONTROL, NOW THAT YOU ARE ALL SHOES. I NO LONGER HAVE TO ANSWER TO MY REGRETS AND PAST MISTAKES BECAUSE THEY ARE SIMPLY SHOES.
I WAS EVEN ABLE TO PAINT PHOTOSHOP IN PURPLE COLOR (TO PLEASE CAPTAIN) AND SHE DIDN'T EVEN PUT UP A PROPER FIGHT BECAUSE I IMAGINED HER AS A SHOE.

Photomanip Features :: August 2013Hello! As a way to give more exposure to fellow photomanipulators, every month I will be putting together a small feature of great manips under 100, and of some inspiring works over that number.Photomanip Features :: August 20132 years ago in Art Features More Like This
If you would like to recommend a work of yours or someone else's that is under 100, please do so in this journal or send me a note. Keep in mind that it has to be a photomanipulation submitted in 2013 or 2012, not earlier, and that it can't have more than that number of faves at the moment of your suggestion (I can't guarantee you that it will be included in the feature, though).
Enjoy! Please don't forget to visit the original works, fave if you like it or drop a friendly comment!

How to be Beautiful :)In a nutshell:How to be Beautiful :)1 year ago in Personal More Like This
-Smile. Even if you don’t love yourself, others will start to. Just takes a smile
-Laugh! Make jokes even if they’re awful. Everyone loves good jokes, but bad jokes are okay even if people laugh at how awful they are or stare at you like you have two heads
-Stay positive! If life gives you lemons, churn um up and serve some lemonade in the midst of a war. And if the lemons are just OVERFLOWING, then.. rejoice! You are the first person to know what it’s like to swim in a pool of lemons!
-And be yourself.. who cares if no one likes you. When you do find someone with similar interests, you have found yourself a true friend. It’s impossible not to feel sad when other reject you, I know, but it is so worth it when you have just one person who you can laugh with.
And if you still want to read the whole thing and risk severe brain damage , please continue!
(I wrote this little tidbit after writing the whole thing, as I realized i
PE DDs: When It's Not Always PositiveWhen DDs Go AwryPE DDs: When It's Not Always Positive3 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This
Daily Deviations, or “DDs,” are frequently held in very high esteem on deviantART. After all, what artist does not want his or her work displayed for more than 20 million viewers to see and admire? The benefits of receiving a DD feature include increased exposure for your work and a day in the spotlight for you as an artist. Many people therefore view DDs as badges of honor, awards that make them proud and validate the time they spend in our community.
Be careful what you wish for!
Don’t get us wrong-- DDs are wonderful for the purposes listed above. But, they can also bring a lot of drama upon the artist, especially if they are controversial.
Let’s talk about some of the sources of this drama.
Some people feel that people who post art-- and especially those whose art is worthy of a Daily Deviation-- should have thick enough skin to accept criticism as well as praise. They argue that criticism is part
Comments and Commenting We all know that getting the exposure you want for your work is a tough endeavour here on dA. Despite the wonders of the site, the simple fact of the matter is that comments are hard to come by these days.Comments and Commenting1 year ago in Literature Features More Like This
There may be many reasons for this - lack of time on the part of many browsers, lack of interest, or simply: not knowing what to say. We've all been there at one point (some of us more than others), and it presented the question - "what is it that writers want out of a comment?"
The only way to find the answer to this question was to set up a poll - which received an amazing response from the lit community, and with your help, this editorial will highlight some points that will aid in leaving some insightful and appreciated comments.
First and foremost - Read.
Many of the writers on dA want f
Sharing Your Art: Chat, Forums + Groups So you've submitted your work to deviantART and now... wait, what now? This is a question many deviants find themselves wondering. Again for many of us, hundreds of our fellow deviants aren't flocking to our galleries. So - what exactly can we do to bring them to us?Sharing Your Art: Chat, Forums + Groups11 months ago in Deviant Events More Like This
There are quite a few ways to get your work out into the big bad world of deviantART - it's just finding your niche and getting into it. Three common ways to show off your art are: groups, forums & chat.
:#sharezone: is a great chat to share your artwork in at anytime of the day and almost always has quite a few people in it. Many groups and other deviants also host chats for various reasons: general chat, critique, games, etc. The problem with chats is not everybody is on the same time zone, so it can be hard to corre
Bought a character or design?Update: I find it mildly disturbing that there are artists that SELL you the rights to something and ask you NOT to resell it AT ALL(even the same price or less), what the hell? Something similar would be paying $50,000 for a car and it's illegal to resell it, so you're just stuck with it when you don't want it anymore OR you can give it back to the dealership (or in this case, artist) for free? I see it as stealing, selfish of you to ask, and bullshit.Bought a character or design?1 year ago in Personal More Like This

PE: Promoting your projectPromoting your projectPE: Promoting your project1 year ago in Art Features More Like This
So you have a community project. You think it is a really good project, but people seem to not care for it. But wait... what if they just don't know about it?
Step 1 - WRITE A JOURNAL ABOUT YOUR PROJECT
You can also use other ways to describe your project - in the comments section of a deviation, in a profile widget or gallery description, but a journal is usually the most effective way to get the word out. Write it in sta.sh, even if it's a group journal (we will get to this later). Explain clearly and concisely the main idea and goals of your project, then elaborate on the details if needed.
Step 2 - POST THE JOURNAL
You can post it not only in your profile, but also in your groups. You need to be an admin of a group to be able to post the journal to it directly (as a journal, not as a deviation). If you are an admin of a group that is relevant to the project, this is how
Changes to the Prints AgreementChanges to the Prints Agreement1 year ago in DeviantArt Announcements More Like This
As part of a general review of the Prints Program we noticed that the Prints Agreement needed clarity.
We changed the way in which we describe pricing because we have changed the way in which pricing is displayed during the submission process.
We also wanted to clearly explain the impact of promotional offers on the Artist Profit.
More than two years ago we blended the Premium Print Program with the Premium Membership (they used to be different). We have now updated the language in order to better distinguish the differences between Premium and Standard Print Program features in the Prints Agreement. Finally, we fixed some word choices and grammar to make the Agreement a better read.

Your lemons give me lemonadeWhen I was a child, I was playing with my friend in her backyard. It was in a neighborhood where backyards faced each other. The children in the neighboring backyard had a grudge against us (just because children are mean spirited like that) so they went to their lemon tree and began assaulting us with their lemons. Their aim was rather piss poor but my friend and I agreed to goad them into throwing more lemons at us because we knew that it takes LOTS of lemons to make fresh lemonade. After exhausting our assailants to the point of there being no more lemons within their reach from their tree, we gave them the bird and proceeded to make some very well earned lemonade.Your lemons give me lemonade2 years ago in Personal More Like This

Alright, this has been a very controversial topic ever since "Avatar the Last Airbender" left the air. The Tokka vs. Sukka controversy. I know that the Linzin evidence has brought many, many more arguments to the stage, but after watching the entire series of ATLA and "Out of the Past" several times in the last few days, I have some visual evidence to back up my updated personal arguement.
First of all, lets look at the evidence from the series. I personally think that a man should NOT have to act different to get a girl to like him.
Sukka: Sokka is always acting different in order to impress Suki, or protect her. And when he acts like himself he gets this v
It just doesn't seem like it would work to me, she would get annoyed or he would get tired of not having any fun, sokka time.
Tokka: Sokka acts like himself, he and Toph have great times together. Where the main example of this can be taken from 307 "The Runaway". Sokka
I had a fear of ugly peopleI was chatting with my aunty and her gf the other day. They told me stories about the young baby Ry-Spirit. When Ry had no pubic hair, when Ry couldn't form a sentence together properly, when all Ry did all day was draw and play with toys... Actually you know what? Ry of today is pretty much the same so no changes there. But anyway, there was ONE thing that was different and caught me by surprise when they told me, they told me that baby Ry had a fear of ugly people. I was like seriously? WHAT?I had a fear of ugly people2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Above is a photo of me as a baby after I saw an ugly person. I was fascinated by this statement they claimed, so they told me there was a time when they took me out to meet their school friends, I got along with everyone of them, laughing and having fun with them, except for one person, I got scared and cried everytime I saw him. It was a mystery as to why I was like that to him... and they have concluded that it might be because he's ugly. And yeah I know its rude to define who's ugly and who's

first two episode titles of Book 3!The official USA copyright catalogue has listed the first two episode titles of Book 3!first two episode titles of Book 3!11 months ago in Personal More Like This
The Legend of Korra : 201, A Breath of Fresh Air.
The Legend of Korra : 202, Rebirth.
The reason why they list the episodes as 201 & 202 is because Korra is split into two seasons. Season 1 = Books 1 & 2. Season 2 = Books 3 & 4. So Season 2 episode 1 is basically Book 3 episode 1.
Stockers I Hate, Feature EditionSo, the stock community has grown and improved so much since I first started producing stock, and there are so many stockers whose stock I love.Stockers I Hate, Feature Edition2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
These aren't them. The stockers featured here are the people whose stock is so good, that I hate them out of pure jealousy. They tend to be people with resources or abilities beyond the scope of my own, and much the same taste. I'm only featuring stockers that primarily produce male stock, because that's what Ari and I do. If I featured female stockers I envied as well, we'd be here all year.
The first that has to be mentioned, of course, is jademacalla. I've hated him from day one, in a good way. His stock is awesome, and often makes me think "That must be uncomfortable."
In the vein of obnoxiously athletic stockers, I'd be wrong not to mention DaeStock, 'cuz, well, Duuuuuude. If you're looking for epic displays of male physicality, he's the stocker for you.
I also hate (in the good way) Nemesis-19 Not all of his stock is up my

A wise man by the name of John Rambo once told us that we should 'Stay ballsy'. We should not let our fear overtake us, we should dive head in into obstacles and fight the demons without fear and without worries. Well I have taken that approach and incorporated it into my drawing, believe it or not I have never been confident about my artworks, even if it is something I spent 24 hours on I still have doubt whether its good enough to show or not, especially when it is for work and I know I am being judged on.. thats why it always takes so long for me to finish an art piece because I keep looking at it and try to fix stuff that probably no one would ever notic
