Bad News For BioShock Infinite Release Date.A Message From Ken Levine
When we announced the release date of BioShock Infinite in March, we felt pretty good about the timing.
Since then, we’ve come to realize that some specific tweaks and improvements will make Infinite into something even more extraordinary. Therefore, to give our talented team the time they need, we’ve decided to move the game’s release to February 26, 2013. We wanted to let our loyal (and very patient!) fans know this as soon as possible.
I won’t kid you: BioShock Infinite is a very big game, and we’re doing things that no one has ever done in a first-person shooter. We had a similar experience with the original BioShock, which was delayed several months as our original ship date drew near. Why? Because the Big Daddies weren’t the Big Daddies you’ve since come to know and love. Because Andrew Ryan’s golf club didn’t have exactly the right swing. Because Rapture needed one more coat of grimy Art Dec

Would you kindly release me?
I have no will to become a puppet,
a slave of your greed and power lust.
Would you kindly show your face?
Using those you murdered,
to mask your malicious intent.
Would you kindly confront me,
as man and not as the coward you are.
The final showdown.
Would you kindly bleed,
against the floors you tried so hard,
to rip from the hands that made it.
Would you kindly die,
an irony matched by no other.
Your power made you only weaker.
Would you kindly...
kindly, my dear.
Show me the way out.
The way up.

Would you kindly lie,
filling my head with a false life.
The life you wanted.
Would you kindly make me a monster,
tell me to become the villain,
turn the Atlantic into a fiery-massacre.
Would you kindly lead me,
a shadow, twisted and deformed,
down every evil hall of the city.
Would you kindly toss me about,
like the wreck of the plane itself,
crumbled on the murky ocean floor.
Would you kindly warp my mind,
a mind I never had control of,
a puppet on a bloodied string.
Would you kindly...
Kindly, you bastards.
For every drop of blood I spill for you,
the more the city belongs to me.
BioShock Infinite: What It Tells Us About the GameIt’s amusing watching people describe the latest BioShock Infinite trailer as if developer Irrational were long lost and sending up a flare from the heart of some dark continent. Where did people think the game had gone? Did they miss the memo? The game was only announced two years ago, after all, and it’s been delayed once, and then by just a few months — from mid-October 2012 to Feb. 26, 2013.BioShock Infinite: What It Tells Us About the Game3 years ago in Personal More Like This
In the trailer, we get a closer look at Columbia, the mysterious floating sky-city occupying the game’s alternate history-verse circa 1912, decades before either BioShock or BioShock 2‘s 1960s-era gene-mangling tangos take place somewhere under the sea (though in fairness we’re still not certain the two worlds are linked).
We’re also given a closer look at the Sky-Hook, which resembles a claw-tipped prosthesis held as if clutching and aiming a rifle one-handed. Here we see the Sky-Hook doubling as a mangling tool, the end spinning like a circular saw bl
