Background Information: They two are twins who lost their mother in the Second Great Witch War, their father was suspected to be a student at the DWMA. Charged with treason for having one of Death's supporters as a partner during wartime, their mother was executed and burned at the stake by the High Witch Council. In a last ditch effort to save her children, their mother entrusted the pair to the outcast Spider Witch, Arachne, in order to protect them from the Council before her death. Arachne kept her word on keeping the two safe, but to her name as the Mother of Weapons, she conducted experiments on the two in the hopes to create the first witch-weapon hybrid. However during the time Arachne was chased doggedly by the Lord Death himself and finally destroyed, her castle was left empty, her followers disbanded and her experiments abandoned. After her downfall the DWMA searched and cleansed her castle, discovering the two infants and placing them under the Academy's care. Death ordered for the two to be kept concealed from public knowledge and to be brought up in a hidden area of the large school in order to keep tabs on their growth and development. Over time the infants grew up, at a slow pace in accordance to their mother's witch blood, before developing their powers of magic during their childhood. Simultaneously the boy began showing signs of weapon transformation, though the girl did not. Because of this, it was eventually decided that the DWMA would retain to the two for further investigation and have them enrolled in the school to help Death's cause.
At first they were a great asset to the school, their powers manifested and grew quickly, and their witch blood was an interesting development in terms of meister and witch relations that the school's nurse, Dr. Stein, took quick interest in (especially after his run-in with the witch Medusa during the Battle with the Kishin). After the battle, the young shinigami, Death the Kid, began to follow in his father's footsteps and created his own council to deal with external Death City affairs in the stead of his Death Room bound father. The two twins, believing in the co-existence of witches and meisters, were convinced by Death the Kid that they could best achieve this goal under his council. The two witch twins were one of the first enlisted by the boy shinigami to bolster the task force.
