Ode to Rise AgainstThe band spoke not to the masses,Ode to Rise Against3 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
but to those whose wrists wore slashes.
Their words lacked a semblance of formality,
but were meant for those with abnormality.
The message was for all those whose pain was immense;
it told them it was time to rise, Rise Against.
Rise Against the injustice and pain.
Defend the memory of the slain.
Stand for those who are helpless.
Always try to be selfless.
Work hard for better futures.
Treat the world's wounds with sutures.
Rise Against their pseudo-perfection.
With music, they gave us direction.
Do not let yourself be tame.
Do not give in to their game.
Fight back, but not with violence,
and do not live in silence.
Rise Against the corrupt regime.
They are not as strong as they seem.
Live only by your moral laws.
Stand up, stand out, embrace your flaws.
Arm-in-arm, we make a wall.
Together, we can stand tall.
Rise Against the fanatic;
those whose beliefs are static.
They fear our success, our progress,
and so it is us they oppress.
In time, my suffer
Waiting: 5Riza awoke in the night in a start, coming face to face with a sleeping Roy, chest heaving in a steady rhythm as his forehead bumped hers, light snores emanating from his mouth. His arm slipped over her waist, drawing her closer and nuzzling into her neck. She gasped, trying to fight the urge to push him away, instead placing a hand in his hair.Waiting: 53 years ago in Romance More Like This
Her eyes quickly darted around the barely moonlit room, searching for a father that wasn't there; she had become paranoid. Every section of the room was highlighted by the eerie darkness, from the fading wooden walls to the cosy feel of the blanket encasing the two. She felt the shrill fear of being watched pulse through her, as her stomach growled, pulling out of his grip and sitting up. "Where-you-going?" He whined, half conscious, his onyx eyes squinted, pupils dilating in the moonlight, She had to admit, his eyes looked handsome when they were lit in the light, even if it was barely any.
His hand came to grip her shirt with an outstretched

A thick white fog filled the air as the forest grew humid and the sun barely shown through the white puffy clouds overhead. Carter stirred, his body stiff, and grunted as he sat up.
"Ugh... at least the rain stopped... right Lola?" He smirked, but stopped when he heard nothing. He rubbed his eyes, and as they blinked open Lola was nowhere to be seen. Carter stood quickly, but grunted with pain and fell back to his knees. He steadied himself with a hand, and slowly stood.
"Lola!" He called out. "Where are you?!" He continued, a frantic worry in his voice. He couldn't believe he left Lola unguarded last night. What if something happened to her? Carter stumbled out of the cave, wheezing from his beaten body, and fell to a knee again as he began to tear up. "Lola..."
"She's gone. But with my help, you can save her." Carter stood quickly and turned to see a gardevoir leaning against the wall beside the cave.

The House on the LakeThe oven door opened, filling the kitchen with the warm and inviting smell of fresh cookies. Braving the heat, Dawn shoved both mitten-guarded hands past the threshold – and was rewarded, minutes later, as she withdrew her morning’s work. The House on the Lake1 year ago in Settings More Like This
There were well over a dozen cookies total, each meticulously made from scratch and augmented with a happy sprinkle of gooey chocolate chips. Sight and smell coalesced into a sudden and mouthwatering compulsion; and, succumbing to temptation, Dawn gingerly plucked the largest of the specimens from the tray.
She took a moment to admire her work – but only a moment. Then she leaned forward, gently pressing her teeth against the cookie’s edge. She didn’t fully bite down, applying just enough pressure to lightly crack the surface. But her snack was crafty, oozing a taunting layer of chocolate over her tongue – urging her to take it further.
She obliged, finally taking a bite – not out of spite, but out of necessit

As they move through the rubble left over from the Reapers attacks, the pulsing on Tali's Omni-tool quickens. "We're getting closer."

Liara comes in behind Tali and grabs a hold of her shoulder. "Don't worry Tali, we'll find him."
Suddenly Ashley screams out in the distance. "Everyone! I found him!"

Danny the cyndaquil hurried down the cracked mountain path, the heavy rain and fog blinding him as he tried his best not to fall into one of the fissures or crevices along the craggy dirt and stone. He shivered, the freezing rain making his breath come out in white puffs. His foot caught in a crack, and he gasped as a stab of pain shut up his leg and forced him to the ground. Danny landed on his face, tears in his eyes, and he glanced back to see his ankle swollen.
Great. First he gets lost in Craggy Coast, next he almost joins his supplies at the bottom of a razor sharp jagged pit, and now he sprained his ankle.
Danny tried to stand, leaning against a small boulder, and grunted as he put weight on his leg. He had to get back to town. Danny limped as best he could, spots in his eyes from pain, and sighed with relief when he saw a rock tunnel where he could escape the rain.

Televisions throughout the world turned on as the first event of its kind was getting started. Viewers across the world were introduced to a small newsroom with a single desk and monitors all around it. Sitting at the desk was a gray furred wolf in a brown trench coat, white shirt, black pants and a brown fedora.
"Hello, and this is Odin Ashcroft." The wolf started. "And I'll be your commentator for today's first ever Shrinking Games. Athletes from across the multiverse are arriving as we speak and preparing for the historic event all hoping to go home a victory. At the very least they'll all be able to go home much cheaper since postage goes off weight." Odin paused for a moment. "Now then, we're going to go live to our field reporter who is already at the games who will try to get you an exclusive interview with one of the athletes."

Homura opened her eyes. She was laying in a hospital bed. "I...failed...again..." She sat up and hugged her knees. "Kaname...I'm sorry..." She was having doubts. Maybe this fate...is unavoidable...
She got out of bed, put on her glasses and tied her hair. Homura looked at herself in the mirror. No. I'm going to do this. For her sake, and for mine, I'm going to defeat the Walpurgis.
She felt a rush of determination. "I can do it. I'm going to protect Madoka."
Homura stood in front of the class. She had done this many times before, so she wasn't as shy about it as she used to be.
After the teacher introduced her and explained to the class that Homura just got out of the hospital because of some heart problems, she had to introduce herself. "I'm Akemi Homura. Nice to meet all of you." She didn't want to say anything too flashy. She walked down the row of desks and choose the empty seat closest to Madoka. Madoka glanced Homura's way and smiled. Homura couldn't help but smile

You yanked your scarf up over your icy nose and let out a sigh, your warm breath catching in the soft fabric and warming up your cheeks. You didn’t mind walking home in the cold, and you did it almost every day, just as long as you had your trusty iPod. You pushed the little headphone buds into your ears, the loud slur of music filling your mind.
You hummed along with the beat, a small smile painted your lips. Your surroundings seem to blur as you twisted your body with the rhythm, not care if anyone saw your seizure like dance moves. You were breaking one of the most important rules of young girl walking home in the dark- never be distracted.

It was quite cool for a midsummer day, but that didn't stop the overbearing sun making its presence known to the countryside below. It wouldn't last much longer however as a large battalion of rain clouds were drifting their way across the country on a gentle summer breeze. Indeed the fields which were now dry would soon be drenched to the root, the soil saturated with water when the heavens opened up. For now though, the creatures living in the fields and the forest were able to enjoy the last few minutes of sunlight.
There was one though that would quite happily welcome the rain with speed, as he took shelter beneath the shade of an oak tree, outside the back gate of a human household. A young black furred wolf cub of three months of age sat impatiently awaiting the impending rainfall, with his sable coat absorbing the heat of the sun. He wasn't sure what he was looking forward to more the rain or the arrival of the black and white husky pup

It was the middle of a perfectly normal afternoon in the town of Namimori. Or, to be more precise, in a small Chinese restaurant located in downtown Namimori. Seated in this cozy place were four friends…comrades…a Famiglia. The two currently arguing were Ryohei Sasagawa, a tough-looking brown bear with gray hair and a Band-Aid draped over his snout, and Hayato Gokudera, an Akita Inu who also sported a head of gray hair. The bear was dressed in a plain tan shirt with red pants while the canine wore a thin white jacket over a purple shirt and a pair of dark blue jeans.
"Gokudera! Onii-san! Please don't fight." asked a cowardly-looking lion sitting next to Gokudera; he was Tsunayoshi Sawada and the 10th boss of the Vongola Famiglia. Tsuna had brown and very spiky hair and was currently dressed in an orange and white hoodi
A Dragon's ToyHot breath washed over the small dragon as he looked at the back of his predator's pulsating throat as he laid on the massive tongue. The larger dragon was rather sleepy after gulping down the inhabitants of his prey's village and decided to gently and slowly taste and roll and rub at the dragon inside his massive maw. Lars and Mathieu, a Meister and Weapon team, were sitting at an outside café eating lunch. It seemed like a normal, average day in Death City, but neither of these two teens could of imagined how different today would really be.
"Are you listening to me, Mathieu?" Lars, the Meister of the duo, asked. Lars was a pretty average-looking guy with short brown hair, a tan striped shirt, and plain black sweat pants. He also wore a blue scarf around his neck and his eyes were hazel. "You can't tell me you're not worried about these fights in the slightest!"
"Fights?" Mathieu repeated as he didn't even look at Lars. The Weapon was too busy staring at his handheld console and mashing away at the buttons. FrUK - Maybe Part 4Francis watched with disinterest as the kettle emitted steam and water boiled inside its plastic shell. Grabbing two striped coffee mugs from the cupboard above the sink the Frenchman measured out a teaspoon of coffee granules into his cup and placed a tea bag in the other for the Briton. How had it come to this? How it had it come down to him being a counsellor to Arthur about his failing love life? Not that he hadn't done it in the past, of course, but back then it was all teasing, now it was serious; there was actually a love in the Englishman's life. Things seemed so much more complicated nowadays.FrUK - Maybe Part 44 years ago in Short Stories More Like This

It made his head hurt.

But I had found a home with a kind-hearted family – more specifically, with my girlfriend Liz’s family. And when it came to her niece Anna, there was a lot more going for her. She had all the grace and poise of a snow leopard, boasting a pale coat of spotted fur and even a lithe tail; but she also had the shape of a human woman and all the beauty that came with it. Do you ever get that feeling,
Do you ever think that maybe,
Your dreams are just too perfect,
Hidden inside of your head.
Do you ever get the feeling,
That the dreams you dream are nothing,
Nothing till realities had it's say,
And added a few imperfections to the perfect image.
Do you ever think that perfection,
Is simply not enough,
Without a few meddles and difficulties,
Along the way.
That time you imagined lying in the grass in a meadow,
Wrapped arm in arm with your loved one,
Did you think that maybe if it was real,
It would start to rain?
Or maybe you'd accidentally lie on some stinging nettles?
Did you ever imagine to tip wine all over the person you are withs clothes?
Or to catch a cold from that snowball fight at midnight?
Or to have an allergic reaction to the grass you laid on?
Or maybe even have you car break down on the side of the high way?
It's the imperfect moments that make everything perfect,
The way you turn the broken down car,
Into a picnic under the stars,
