SWAMP THING: The Orchestral ScoreGot a weird treats for you all,SWAMP THING: The Orchestral Score3 years ago in Personal More Like This
For years, whenever I've been intensively drawing a comic project I often felt the need the write myself some music. I've found out multiplying my creative output mysteriously benefit them all. There is, usually, no link bridging my Comic and musical world. Some fugues and some String Quartet sketches have been paired with Batman Incorporated for instance.
This time, being so enthusiast for swamp thing, I went and wrote the scored for issue 7 & 8. OK, not really, but I've tried to cover their thematic stuff in a 3:16 of Full Orchestral Music.
Here a breakdown of the cues:
00:00 The timeless mystery of the Green
00:49 Growth and fate of the Green Warrior
1:36 The Rot
2:00 A bit of actionny big battle for those who got bored until now.
May you enjoy this roughs mix.

"HOW do you STAND this, (name)?" your bestfriend, (best friends name) asked.
You stared at her with the 'are you that stupid to ask' look.
"(best friends name), you do realize youre a part of this too, right? You're dating Tony Stark, youre gunna get caught up in all this, and get used to it. My way is just tuning them out."
" And youre dating Steve Rogers!! And (name), your boyfriend is 93..." she said trying to not burst out laughing. Thats when she caught onto your 'I swear, I will kill you' look.
Steve had continued "Stark! Do you seriously think we met these girls, who are so nice, almost perfect, by accident??"
" Well, yea. Pretty much" stark said, well, pretty much just being stark.
"No, Stark! this has gotta be something bigger, better, im actually thinking fate." trying to put it into words "this cant be an accident, its something that wont pass you by, always with you."

I have NOTHING but good things to say about the folks I’ve had the pleasure of talking to, hanging out with and calling my friends in the My Little Pony fan community. When it comes down to it, everyone is here because of one reason- they like the tiny horse cartoon. Bottom line. I’ve never run into a single instance of the legion creepy, pervy, fedora-wearing, neckbeard misogynist bullies that are claimed to populate every pony-friendly website and convention.
Quite the contrary, I’ve had a wonderful time every step of the way and I appreciate EVERYONE I’ve joined along the ride- bronies and nor/mlp/eople, artists and musicians , VAs and staff, men, women, kids a

It was revealed earlier this month that CNN had in place an “ultimate closing message” in the event of the apocalypse actually arriving (and there being enough time to change the tape). It was footage of a military band playing “Nearer My God to Thee”:
This.... would have been a really crap thing to permanently sign out on.
The BBC obviously thought so, too, as in light of that story they asked their readers/listeners what they would like to hear played across the service, should doomsday occur.
Most responses were musical numbers, such as REM’s “It’s the End of the World as we know it (and I feel fine)” and Queen’s “Don’t stop me now”, but other’s were a little more deranged, such as the final clip of a Warner Bros cartoon, with Porky Pig saying “That’s all folks!”.

More Critical Thoughts on Art School + Career PathHey everyone, thanks for the info on San Francisco for those who live in / near there. It's a big thing for me to still be thinking about, so I'll definitely be coming in for a visit before I make any final decisions.More Critical Thoughts on Art School + Career Path3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Elsewhere, I've been meaning to do a short rant dealing with how I feel retrospectively having gone to art school. I've talked about having gone before, and I've given some advice about choosing a school that's right for you should you choose to go. But you know, having been out for a couple years now, there are a few glaring problems I see not just from the school I attended, but apparently from many schools nationwide. And this deals with offering students a clear path of study for the often specialized career they are looking to get into. Areas of art such as (concept) design, animation, comics/storyboarding/sequential, full-time freelance, and all-over jobs related to working in industry-level professional positions, or in a teamwork-oriented studio setting. Lived Long and ProsperedThe great Leonard Nimoy has died, age 83.Lived Long and Prospered2 months ago in Personal More Like This
There’s not really much I can write about the chap or his impact on sci-fi culture that you’re not already aware of. We all knew and loved him as Spock from Star Trek. Hell, I named one of my webcomic’s characters after him.
Nimoy never forgot about his fans, either, and how it is they who ensured his lasting popularity. It’s telling that it was he who cameoed in the recent Trek films and not Shatner.
Being the awesome man he was, his final words to the public (by way of twitter) were “LLAP”.
“Live Long and Prosper”.

Kuchisake onna (mouth slitted woman)口裂け女Kuchisake onna (mouth slitted woman)1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Legend of kuchisake onna:
The original legend of kuchisake onna dates back to the heian period, about 1200 years ago. A woman who cheated on her samurai husband was caught and for revenge, he cut her mouth from ear to ear and asked her "who will think you're beautiful now?" This frightening lesson of faithfulness was the beginning of a newer scary story.
In the 1970's, the legend reappeared as a horror. The ghost of the mouth slitted woman was roaming japan. Although, there have been reports of sightings in South Korea and the U.S. The chilling urban legend has inspired numerous movies and rumors of her in other countries.
Description of kuchisake onna:
She is said to wear a surgical mask-which is common in japan-and carries around a pair of large scissors. The usual kuchisake onna is said to have a similar appearance of a yurei spirit (ex: the grudge, the ring, etc.) The legend states that she preys on young ch

Weird and scary world of sexualityNot impressed by people right now.Weird and scary world of sexuality1 month ago in Personal More Like This
I've made so much Cracked After Hours fan art where I over-thought the characters, and suggested things like Daniel having anxiety disorder, Soren fearing being weak because his parents were fucked up, Michael being a sad figure who is dimly aware that he's losing his mind, or that Katie is into guys acting like dogs.
That's all fine, but when I quote the series for saying they aren't straight or cis and try to suggest what they might be, suddenly I'm "pigeonholing it" and "being weird" and "too tumblr".
Is the idea of a character not being straight or a guy not minding being called a woman really that scary? I've even suggested Daniel likes to fuck machinery and that was a-okay, but oh my god what are these scary word demisexual and genderqueer!?
The series is all about overthinking stuff. The characters overthinks pop culture, and the fans overthink the series itself. I've seen it suggested that they're all dead and in the afterlife, that it's

So even though Duck Hunt is my new character of choice in Smash (because COME ON, its existence alone in the game is a gleaming miracle of unexpected magnificence), I have still indulged in some Falcon Times, as well. Falcon Times are important.
And in playing a series of online matches as the good captain, letting loose a tireless (but maybe tiresome) tirade of 'FALCON PUNCHES' and 'FALCON KICKS' in his melodious voice for a couple rounds, I was surprised when one of the strangers I was fighting in the group then ALSO started playing as Captain Falcon, apparently converted by the captain's very loud, vocal gospel.
And then another.
And then all four of us, unspoken, ALL began playing as Captain Falcon out of some silent sense of solidarity, leading to what was simultaneously a furiously raging battle of fists and

AsexualityAlright, considering that this worked out very well last time and I'm bored I thought that I'd talk about another facet of my personality. I don't know if I would call it unusual, because apparently about every one out of a hundred people are asexual...? Honestly, it feels like a lot less and I'll get into that. For those who don't know, I am an aromantic asexual. You can be one without the other, although I don't know how common that actually is. It seems very simple to me and a very easy concept to grasp: people who are asexual do not have a sexual attraction to people of either gender, and people who are aromantic do not desire a romantic relationship with either gender. But honestly, anyone who has gone through middle school can tell that... life without sexual goals, desires, or interests is very different.
