I started on this back when the contest was fist announced, and have been working on it on and off in my free time. I just managed to put the finishing touches on her today. She started out as a thief/rogue, but I wasn't really liking her costume design so she got worked over and turned into this sexy assassin lady. I was pretty torn about the affects on her swords, but my husband liked them, so I kept them in the final image.
All painted from scratch in Clip Studio Paint, with a few licensed textures, and the Frenden brush set I purchased around Christmas.
I was browsing deviantart when I happened across this contest and I KNEW I had to enter. As those of you who follow me have probably noticed, I tend to paint more on the dark side, so I decided to challenge myself with this contest and paint Lena taken by the Light! Though I really had wanted to enter one of each, I am glad I spent the extra time instead making this one the best I could. Let me know what you think!

Hello, Here is my fourth work for the contest on LARA CROFT TOMB RAIDER REBORN organized by Deviant Art. Software used: Painter 11 + Photoshop + Tablet Intuos 4L. Estimated time: about 70 hours. (it becomes a very hard to estimate, because as I work simultaneously on two or three illustrations together for a month 10 hours a day so as not to saturate and lose observation at first glance...). Size : 3543 x 4724 x 300 dpi
The character Lara Croft is and remains the property of TOMB RAIDER, Square Enix Ltd., Crystal Dynamics realized within the contest "TOMB RAIDER REBORN Contest" by DEVIANT ART. I would like to thank the official partners that allow us to participate in our turn and artistic way to this wonderful universe and realize our own vision of Lara Croft.
As you can see, I continue my exploration and my quest for a "realistic art style." This time, I wanted more jungle atmosphere, with background scenery quite rich. I treated him like a visual kind promotional poster. The idea of this illustration (like the others) came on me when I watched the trailer: Lara stolen in the jungle and hunted like a prey in a hostile middle, where she meets the darkness to better raise and reborn ...! This work was (as the other) accomplished in part with my own custom brushes, as well as my own personal textures.
I hope you like this illustration, ... until the next ...! (phew ...! I getting tired ...!) XD
My entry for the *wewy competition. The idea stems from the nature of Shibuya as a city center simply covered in billboards and signs which are more often than not showcasing images of people. What if these Noise derived from the billboards themselves, as creatures that pulled from the images' colors and forms? I have never been to Shibuya myself, but I paralleled it to Times Square, and I know in TS you can't get very far without being accosted by another massive billboard advertisement; thus, I assumed Shibuya would be relatively similar. Noise would come from all directions and all levels of the district, surrounding you wherever you went.
Please download for full size. Thanks!
On another note, I am glad for the extension, as my school work has been quite tremendous (hence the reason I haven't uploaded anything in forever). Doing the background for these creatures was strenuous, but enjoyable and took much much longer than the actual villains, ironically.
EDIT: I just wanted to thank everyone for their support and super amazingly nice comments! I've never gotten so much response on an image before! The choice to do a noise/background image as opposed to a character sheet was a little counterintuitive for me, but I'm happy it got somewhere (and glad I didn't get disqualified sticking Cloud in the picture)!
