ARE YOU SITTING DOWN. NO SERIOUSLY, READ THIS.Something of utter and complete magnificence and insanity is coming very soon.ARE YOU SITTING DOWN. NO SERIOUSLY, READ THIS.1 year ago in Personal More Like This
I can't tell you everything, but it's the culmination of a dream many of us thought would never happen. It involves 3D animation by some of the best people in film and video, incredible action and adventure and one smart-talking green cat.
It's a video game.
It's a Bizenghast video game.
It's a Bizenghast video game in a fully 3D world.
And I'm going to play the voice of Dinah.
Told you that you should have sat down.
Stay tuned, because on Valentine's Day, the town of Bizenghast is about to get a little bit stranger...and a whole lot bigger.
A Little Fursuit Cost PerspectiveWHY OUR COSTUMES ARE "EXPENSIVE"A Little Fursuit Cost Perspective2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I posted this info over on Tumblr, and thought others might find it interesting!
Someone just sent me a note that read:
"Seeing all the materials you guys use for your fursuits, I can really see why they're so pricey. "
Thanks for noticing! We are asked to justify our prices pretty often, or even accused of charging too much, but I think a lot of people just do not realize that there is A LOT of expense (and not just in materials), and a TON of time that goes into making each suit. And sure, lots of people plug in features to our price calculator and come out with a $3000-$7000 figure, and must be imagining us sitting around in bathtubs full of cash. Truth is, we don't make a whole lot of profit - where does it all go?
First, consumable materials. These are items that need to be bought new for each and every suit because they get completely used up in the process. This includes casting resins, sheet plastics, foam, polyfill, paint, elastic

Photomanip: Working with TexturesWelcome!Photomanip: Working with Textures2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
Textures are a critical part of so many photomanipulations, but they're not as easy to use as they appear. Below are some great examples of photomanipulations that, in my opinion, demonstrate excellent use of textures:
The goal of this article . . .
. . . is to serve as a resource for those of us who enjoy having textures be a predominant part of our photomanipulations and mixed media work so we can learn to use textures properly. Texture misuse or abuse can ruin an entire photomanipulation that otherwise might have been good. No matter how good we are at something, we can always grow to be better.

"How do I select a new camera?"
"One of the most often asked questions I've seen regarding photography, above how to do something, is 'what is the best camera?', or 'what camera should I get?'.
Or something along those lines. The critical thing to note is that there is no such thing as the best camera.
Sure there are cameras that are technically better at certain things, for example, some cameras have very high resolutions, other are very good at low light photography, some are very small, and so on, but there's no su
Poor wolves are ill :( Photos (but with warning)Hi,Poor wolves are ill :( Photos (but with warning)2 years ago in Personal More Like This
today it was the worst ZOO visit ever.
This spring I noticed that the molting (process of loosing the thick winter fur and having just much shorter summer fur) of the wolves is very different from the molting I witnessed during the last years. The wolves looked ill, like having scabs on their faces and bodies.
It made me nervous, so I was curious about my today's visit. I planned to shoot baby wolves.
What I saw shocked me.
ALL the pack members seem to have some skin problems. Less or more serious, all of them are effected, showing symptoms. I do not know if it is mange or so, but it looks horrible. Two wolves (and I am VERY afraid the most ill one is Atila) have almost bare bodies, they lost almost all the fur. All of them keep scratching. What a horrible, horrible sight, I almost cried there even the tiny puppy is ill, it was born just few weeks ago, but I see its legs show the signs of the same illness.
I hope the vets will find the cure.
I am soooo down since I saw them toda
Furin (Japanese Wind Bell)Furin (Japanese Wind Bell)2 years ago in Personal More Like This
It's already the latter half of August. But there are still hot and humid summer days in Japan.
Furins [風鈴](traditional wind bells) are one of Japanese summer traditions as hanabi (fireworks).
Japanese enjoy beautiful sounds of furins in atmosphere. They give cool feeling. (Needless to say, that's a matter of feelings, not the concrete temperature.)

SheZow! Theme songSheZow lyrics by Obie Scott WadeSheZow! Theme song2 years ago in Personal More Like This
One, two, three, four!
Guy finds a ring, it does super things,
Now he’s secretly SheZow (SheZow!)
Here to save the World, dressed like a girl,
Sister has the know-how.
His sidekick Maz cracks him up,
Best friend a guy could ask for.
Villains beware, SheZow’s in his lair,
Lookin’ to settle the score.
Hey! She-S-P, super strength and speed,
everything a superhero needs.
Vanishing Cream, Laser lipstick too,
His big weakness? A “messed up 'do”!
SheHicle revs with power supreme,
Becomes a plane and a submarine.
Super slap and a sonic scream,
Guy’s a kid who’s livin’ the dream!
SheZow (SheZow), Guy is SheZow
Was his aunt but he’s SheZow now.
SheZow (SheZow), Guy is SheZow,
If Dad finds out he’ll have a cow.
Villains from sea and outer space,
Are always getting’ in SheZow’s face.
Tara, Tattoozoola too,
Watch out! Shezow’s after you.

Propmakers make Magic not Miracles.I've been watching Face Off , you know the show about making special fx challenges, costume and prosthetics for prizes, and there are a lot of things they don't show or tell you. There are even somethings that elude me and I've probably watched more bonus features, special FX dvds than most people. I've had people emailed me about some tips about the latex prosthetics and they thought they can just buy a gallon of latex drop it into a mold and then outcomes a puffy sponge like thing that fits over the face perfectly. Well for one thing the stuff they are using is Foamed Latex which is about 6 different ingredients mixed up in a specific order and then injected into a sealed mold, then baked at a high degree giant walk in oven for X# hours or more. That show don't tell you or show you anything about running foam latex and how it releases toxic gasses during the mixing and curing process. And also how long it takes to make those molds and how you should use mold release (bonusPropmakers make Magic not Miracles.3 years ago in Personal More Like This

Baby polar foxes were born! + old PHOTOS of kitsHi!Baby polar foxes were born! + old PHOTOS of kits3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I just read the info, that baby polar foxes were born in local ZOO!
They are probably still too young to leave the burrow, but I might visit them soon to try to take some photos
Maybe it will kick me to buy a new year ticket - I have not visited the ZOO since my year ticket expired in March but yeah, I will buy it, I think. I definitely visit this ZOO more often than just six times a year
Some ooold photos of baby foxes (taken in 2009). Kits are so adorable
DRAGON CONTEST STARTS!!!(In Spanish below / En Español abajo)DRAGON CONTEST STARTS!!!9 months ago in Personal More Like This
We already have a bunch of participants in the contest, so let it start!! Oh... you don't know which contest am I referring to? Look this and join, you are still in time!! ---> http://kokodriliscus.deviantart.com/journal/DRAGON-CONTEST-465773753
Aaanyway, I think I'm going to repeat the main rules (still, see the link above for more info):
RULES AND SPECS:
1) You’ll have to make a reference sheet of a dragon of your own invention, no matter if it's a single (character) dragon or a breed (specie). This reference sheet will have to show:
-A list of your dragon’s main features, such as name (obligatory, own name or race name), size, wingspan (in case it has wings), diet… any info you consider necessary. Only the name is obligatory, the rest is on your own. 7 features max.
-A graphic description of your dragon, including
Venus"O'er the ache of mauve shores erotic winds billow long & deep... Her scent drips from the sky onto bare skin, bejeweling my senses like a tapestry of blushing petals besieged in rhythms of passion.... Whispers of untamed rapture beckons my lips as I descend into her gaze, unto the sea of bliss where I shall forever drown."Venus3 years ago in Personal More Like This

*This is getting a lot of views strangely, so I thought I'd explain what my journal is all about: It is a place I have
designated to share small quotes I enjoy creating, or anything that is short and doesn't fit within the form of usual poetry.
Feel free to share, fave, comment.
