damn! damn! damn! as i started this project, i never thought that it will take quite three months to finish
but this whole work with re-coloring from blank sheets to a colored version was totally worth This Gundam is just badass and to call this a SD (super deformed) version is definitely an understatement
with over 400 sometimes really tiny and complicated pieces, i really can say it's nothing for beginners you can see it in the building process gallery and i have to say that too, i printed that thing on A3
the model itself was really cool to build all pieces fit quite perfect together sadly, and that's the reason why the model hold the weapon only one time and in that way, the weapon it's not really designed for the model or rather the hands not for the weapon the hands are based on one piece which is fold to itself just to get the shape of a hand so it's really unstable, think about that when you wanna build that model
now then to the point what you probably all waiting for and to the sad part because this time, it's a bit different the original model as black&white version and a pdo as help file (where i made the screenshot from) is available here but you need a password i can't tell you the password here but think about "from where" you download the model, that's all i can say then my recolored version normally i ask the owner or designer if i can get the permission to share them ->public<- but because there is no way for me to contact "panda" i'm not gonna do that ... by the way asking questions in a private messages is free here on dA maybe you know what i mean
i combined the photos this time because i noticed that there are many fakers and thiefs out there, specially in the gundam scene
but there is only one person, who has that brown desk under each model
feel also free to write a critique would make me happy
again a part with a lot of pieces the first five screenshots are again the pieces which are for the hip
i promissed that i make a few photos of this boosters well, these are a bit more complex as the others but base on the same technique
first i cut them out and build the single rings i also removed the tabs for the inside ring quite useless for me at the fourth photo you can see the final pieces because the sheets are designed for colored cardboard paper there are no tabs for the bottom piece where the peak as to be attached on so i just colored a little paper piece with black marker and glued it on top (you can see it at the left piece)
then i put some glue at the inside of the tube and put it on top of the inside ring after it's dry, i add the peak quite simple, if you know how it works
piece overview 1 as always, here are all pieces what you need for the hip
po2 again one of those problems when you work with normal paper to combine this pieces i just add a little tab at the backside and cut two lines into the base piece
po3 this one took me really long to figure out first i thought the smaller piece has to be attached to the hip base but that doesn't work because the black flat pieces where all the parts has to be attached fit exactly to the hip base so this was the only solution
i scratched the color where this pieces has to be combined
and it goes on man, this step took me really long this time but it was worth, the result looks just sweet
as always you can see the pieces of the chest-hip combo
the chest itself the front attachments the shoulders and the pipes of the hip (i didn't add this pieces the last time, because there were already enough )
this time i made no piece overview of the pieces because the chest itself is based on just six pieces the interesting part here is how to combine the shoulders to the torso
on page L and you can see it in the 3d view there are two cylinders in the chest as an inner structure i had no clue how i should build that so i made it my own way
first i changed the tabs and glued the cylinder inside of the outer chest parts then i made a tube what fits into this cylinder and combined them with the shoulder parts
sadly i can't tell you how big this tube should be, it's something what you have to test out also you have to look out that you get the right lenght, angle and stuff
the next photo shows an idea from a facebook friend he suggested i should try to build a moving system for the chest-hip it took me bit to figure out the right height and diameter of the tubes but it works very well ... even there is no space for movements i will explain later
but it's a good way if you wanna build an other SD Gundam to get a bit life into this static models
by the way, the bigger tube has to be on the bottom (left piece)
the next photos the "golden" front attachments and the side pipes
the original pipes were just ugly to build you can see it that the open sides sometime on top and some other are underneath
i used two paper stripes to combine them together but i prefere if you are at this point, to draw youself some tabs also i will edit the sheets a bit that you just have to add edge on edge
next problem in the 3d model the pipes are going through the "containers" but i can do this too i made some holes into them and just put them inside
p.s. you should do this before you add the containers to the hip
last picture the final torso
p.s.s. here you can see what i mean that it's actually not possible to move the chest but that is no problem the important thing is that i "could" do it if i want
So I have a photo camera, two action bases, Gundam and Char's Zaku... so let's have fun XD I was playing with my newly assembled Char's Zaku II and his rival Gundam. I must say that I have to get more action bases. They are amazing and gives me a lot of possibilities to display my models. Yeah, I knew that long time before a finally bought one, but now I know it even better
So when I began playing with poses I first wanted to do "Jumping Gundam vs Zaku with bazooka", of cos if you watched first Gundam you know that Amuro when first fought Char wasn't much of a fighter so he quickly run out of ammo in his beam rifle thats why I had him posed while grabbing his beam saber. Next thing I did was to lay down Zaku as if Amuro somehow knocked him down... or Char tripped they both out of ammo so Amuro is drawing his beam saber while Char is trying to grab his Heat Hawk from the ground. Then I put Zaku on AB and try to make them look like fighting in space, or in the air. The last pose I put Gundam and Zaku into is famous zaku kick scene. That's all for now. No more models to assemble :/ but I think I'll play more thous that I have and maybe I'll do some more photos.
Hope I was clearly enough with my description, sorry for any mistakes
photos by me Models: 1/100 MG Gundam RX-78 2 One Year War Ver. 1/100 MG MS-06S Char Aznable's Custom Zaku Ver.2.0.
in case of rebuild the big Sinanju Model from Paper-replika.com the next part for this awesome model The Beam-Rifle
like the Axe what i recently uploaded, it's also a redesign from the Playboy Sinanju version
the first two photos are showing the complete new scope (just if you wonder why there are numbers missing ) i build the scope that way because well, i mean it's a rifle not a sub-machine gun a rifle need a huge scope period
you can also see this little scope attachment the original plastic version has that too
i used some wires to combine the small pieces actually the whole piece is a pipe
IMPORTANT! to add the "shadow catchers" at the front and back you have to try out what diameter you need i calculated with different paperweights
the third photo shows the whole model with the numbers, just if there are still some questions about that
the fourth is a few hours later with some finished parts
and finally the finished weapon
about the sheets: because this time it's a recolored version the sheets are coming as pdf just click download at the top
the original design belongs still to playboy redesigned and recolored by me
IMPORTANT: THIS MODEL IS FREE AND SHOULD IT BE SO LET IT BE!
This is the MG Qubeley Mk II used by Ple Two, the clone of Newtype prodigy Elpeo Ple.
For my build, I greatly expanded the design work of the markings. The original kit only contains markings (in yellow) for the front facings of the shoulder binders-- Psycommu System marking and Qubeley script with Ple Two mascot on the left and Neo Zeon insignia on the right. EVERYTING else was all designed and laid out by me (repeated markings on back of shoulders, split Neo Zeon insignias on top of binders, text on legs and arms, danger warnings, funnel binder text and isignia, etc.). I also changed the color to gold to match the metallic finish I was creating. I sent this design off to Samuel to produce the decals for me.
Regarding the metallic finish, I wanted to add some visual interest and not just do the same old color over chrome metallics. I lightly sanded the gloss black primer before spraying on the chrome Alclad and it gave me the brushed metal look seen here. A way of weathering the finish without getting dirty. The red was Alclad Transparent Red (I've said it before-- DO NOT USE HOT METAL RED!!! It has nowhere near the amount of pigmentation for primary color use). Gold is also Alclad. Grays and blacks are Gunze and Gaia respectively.
There are also some physical mods with the addition of HiQParts thrusters inside the binders and on the outside of the legs. Metal collar parts were used for the hoses.
