“Things that I love about…”- painting a dollI love to put different hair locks to a doll face so much during the process of painting it it allows me to look at the conceived doll from a different angle and to "polish" the details of her image, and it captivates me so much that I can spend much time at this activity!
For the beginning an enigma image: let your imagination fly!
Fantasize a bit, what this new Dea Vivente is going to look like? Probably, she will stay like this, but maybe you will not recognize her when she is a heroine of new photographs.
Right now I'll show you the results of high firing the doll's parts put together. The new porcelain that the girls are cast from is beautiful flesh toned, shining a bit and even shimmering. I'm glad that Dea Vivente are going to become even better.
I like the look of fired porcelain this is yet the "blank canvas" meant for picturing a painting.
And now some words about painting.
In doll sphere, toning the parts of body is called "blushing", and this is
New dolls are on their wayI'm creating two new Dea Vivente dolls - #2 and #3 (face mold "Taiga") that will be available for sale soon. Of course, they will take after their "sisters", at the same time they will differ someway, for I want to avoid exact copies and strive to make each doll unique. As for the mold name "Taiga", I'll tell you someday in future why it's called this way, all in good time, and now I'll show several "backstage" photos taken during casting the dolls' parts one of the stages of creating a porcelain Dea Vivente doll. The technology of porcelain manufacture has already been covered enough by ceramist masters, thus here I'm not going deep into process details. To my mind, it will be more exciting to peek in my studio!New dolls are on their way1 year ago in Artisan Crafts More Like This
Some more "in-process" photos of casting can be look at my Flickr page, where the following reportage shots will be published.
Dea's "sisters" are on their way, slowly but surely. Soon I'll be glad to introduce tw

This name and image were thought up by her future owner, and Zaria will come home to Scotland very soon. Her owner has come up to the process of choosing the doll's name and character so thoroughly even before her creation, and I was so pleased with that!
Zaria Danica (Zaria – "dawn", Danica – "star" – the names of the goddess Zaria in Slavic mythology) – The Dawn Star, the goddess of sunrise, beauty and love.
Zaria Danica, as she was thought of, has a 'morning' look: she is a light and tender and a bit cold beauty with bright blue eyes and shining gaze!
You can look at studio photos of the doll in this gallery.
I had been shooting her all day long before I stopped when it was dark outside in the window. For this photo session I was selecting very light tones which could suit the dawn goddess's nature best.
Also I was missing art photoshoot, so I have exper
