Change the lens
Soften the scene
Show you what you want to see
Now I'm losing me
Who is me?
Who are you?
You think you have
the power to change me
You think you've played me
Every time you break me
I remake me
So now I ask...
Who are you?

Our Spirits Would Soar Our Souls Renew
Then Mankind Would See A Better Life
Void Of Evil Greed And Strife
The World Would Be A Beautiful Place To Live
If We Would Only Learn To Give
Instead We Take And Desire Of Things
Not Blessed By HIM Who Love Did Bring
HE Came And Said My Brother Man
Accept This Gift From The Golden Lamb
Some Did Listen To The Words HE Said
Others Did Laugh And Turned Their Head
As They Nailed HIM To A Cross Of Wood
Still HE Blessed Them As Only HE Could
The Years Have Passed Since That Holy Day
When HE Walked The Earth Taking Sin Away
If We Would Only Love As HE Wants Us To
Then Our Spirits Would Soar Our Souls Renew

When I sat by you today
I LOVE YOU

So, please take it back with you
For it was your parting gift

Softness And Beauty Of Stars Had Past
My Heart Still Heavy And Forlorn
My Spirit Was Ebbing I was About To Go
When Something Caught My Eye
A Solitary Cloud So Pure And White
Appeared From Way Up High
My Eyes Now Ember With Rising Sun
Saw An Amazing Sight
Within Its Fleece A Golden Glow
And A Butterfly Took Flight
Such Beauty I Had Never Seen
It Sat Upon My Hand
And Said To Me In A Voice So Soft
I Was A Spirit Of The Lamb
My Soul Was Open My Heart Poured Forth
It Listened With Silent Embrace
And When I Had Finished It Smiled At Me
With Serenity, Peace And Grace
Moments Of Silence As We Shared The Dawn
Then It Whispered It Was Time To Part
And As It Began To Fly Away
A Sudden Lightness Filled My Heart
I Watched In Joy As My Newfound Friend
Returned From Whence It Came
My Fears And Sorrows All Had Been Taken
By The Butterfly With No Name
Had I Seen The Truth Within The Cloud
I Would Have Witnessed A Wondrous Sight

How loveless and soulless I am
They would toss it in disgust
Like the fliers of New York City

But for what?
A bottle rocket
Ready to shoot fire and shards of glass
Aimed at the innocent responsible party
But there is no cause
No damsel to fight for
You know I would fight for her
If I knew who she was
My chest is a hearth of fire
An oven for my heart
Solid as clay
perfectly molded in the shape of nothing
Useless as the day it was cloned
I have no whimsical grandfather to look after
How I long for a story or two
About how he straddled his .38's under his plaid shirt
How he was taller than most
But won't admit hes taller than me
Out of a shrewd sense of humility
He was gone before I could breathe
And yet I hear him in my dreams
Telling me to accept who I see
I hear those lonely people now
Their voice is mine
And mine theirs
I have friends and they stick up for me
They say one day my epic st

The NetherThe NetherThe Nether3 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
I saw the life I would have lived
Had you and I stayed together
And all I'm left with is relief
I just escaped the Nether
I had originally once believed
That I'd been done a diservice
And the thought of living life alone
Had made me more than nervous
Not only did you take my heart
But you seemed to have claimed another
He who I once thought a friend
Became instead, a lover.
But lest this rhyme be full of woe
I shall tell you why I smile
Yet I advise to take a seat
This telling takes a while
There were once a pair of people
Who were perhaps the most in love
That the lone souls can strive to be
A whole made out of halves
And I shall tell you, we were in love
Of such things, one cannot lie
And perhaps, in some dark crevace
Such things just cannot die.
However real our love once was
All things, in time, they fade away
No Romeo, nor Juliet
Just a few things left to say
Fast foward to the modern day
And our love given it's own chance
Falls, stumbles off its own feet

But that’s a lie.
The truth is that I’m exiled by design.

Dreaming, longing for your touch. I hope it soon comes true.
I dream of being in your arms and that you're here with me.
Then I wake and start to cry. Damn you, reality.
When I call and hear your voice, my lips form a smile.
I can handle this for now. It's only for a while.
Eventually, I'll be with you, though it will take time.
I'll steal you from your lonely world and bring you into mine.
Together we'll be happy. A major change, I know.
No longer separated by a screen, our love will only grow.
To have our fingers intertwine. Oh can't you see it, love?
Your hands, since they're bigger, probably fit mine like a glove.
Do you look forward to it, hun? My fingers running through your hair?
And the freedom to be ourselves, with nary a worry or care.
To sleep and feel your body's warmth. Oh, won't that be nice?
Sadly, though, we have to wait. For now, that is our price.
Feel my kiss upon your cheek, though I'm far away.
And know I'll always b

In the quiet still of morning's first light
I sit quietly upon the hill and ponder
Slides and memories wish to show me my life
But all that interests me is this feeling
Gratitude bursts forth from deep inner wells
Reservoirs forged of sweat, blood, and tears
Hidden lakes formed slowly, ever slowly, over twenty-some years
What is the price of a virtuous woman?
Who can measure her value and worth?
What can be said of the love that you've given?
What can be said of your selfless, poured-out life?
If mere words could suffice, I would write you a ballad
A musical epic befitting your strength
But thankfully dear, I can do so much better
For songs, hymns, and ballads are not your reward
So day after day I pursue with a vengeance
That I might but apprehend, the One I was apprehended for
And line upon line I reach closer and higher
Experiencing the joy that is yours evermore
Oh virtuous woman, receive freely His grace
For your husband shall sit with the elders, he shall be known in the gates

When the time comes to say a final farewell
We crumble, our bodies become a shell
Like my fathers before me, the time draws near
To say goodbye, a last time, to someone I hold dear
With a heavy heart I write my words
To the bravest soul who has much endured
We as humans hate that which we can’t comprehend
Such as the sorrow felt when a life comes to end
No words to construct any thoughts coherent
We spend our time wallowing in bereavement
Few words can come to ever assuage
Our ardent melancholy and our burning rage
The earth takes in the bodies we undertake
She holds them all, on the soil we consecrate
We don’t hide emotion, for we cannot refrain
To express our sorrows of our attempts in vain
Our will alone could not save the myriads of lives
Save our children, cousins, brothers, mothers, or wives
Yet we cherish our dead in memories fond
We hallow their names in the face of God
And with my farewe

Father where are you?

Father i need you.
Where have you gone?
I feel forsaken in this cold dark world.
The world you've left me to wonder alone.
Dark shadows rise on either side.
You my protector, have left me here to die.
The shattered remains of my heart cries out,
Surrounded by confusion and doubt.
I seek answers but find none.
Darkness clouds my thoughts...
Why have you forsaken me?
Why have you you left me alone?
Do you even love me?
Do you see me as your own?
In the ashes of what could have been,
I sit covered in sadness and guilt.
My past i've spent without knowing you.
My future uncertain without you.
Do you see my pain?
Do you see my broken heart?
Can you hear my plea?
For a father to do his part??
I need you father...
I need you.
Come back to me
...and wipe these tears away...

Blue and Black GuitarThey say that music soothes the soulBlue and Black Guitar3 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
I don't know how true that is,
I wonder if the song I sing
Is the tune she really hears?
She sold the old guitar today
The one she left for me
Blue and black, the strings a mess
Never played, since He.
It sat in the trunk of her car for years
Slowly collecting dust
And while the dead and silence grew
The thing that shrank was trust.
She picked it up, on smile and whim
And I thought I knew her goal
We'd play, and sing, and laugh all day
Forge out hearts back whole
Yet like all good things, it came to end
Just as the He appeared
And much of what I thought I knew
Broke, as such I feared
Sometimes music is not enough
To soothe the savage beast
Of all the things I've learnt til now
I've thought on this the least
Hence forth now the thoughts in mind
Place all the blame on me
Perchance it was my selfish goal
That shone the light on He.
All I know, with black guitar
Is how to play the blues
She didn't know I was the buyer
But I didn't know you.

Nestled deep in winter's embrace
Hidden pressures purge the clay
Waiting, sleeping, drinking, dreaming

Enveloped thick in densest fog
Creation formed amongst the thaw
Whilst pale light frames a whispered form
Shadows dance upon the thorns
Stretching, seething, flexing, breathing
Searching, seeking, turning, breaching
As summer's sun invades the dirt
Reflections speak of priceless worth
Soft ground unfurls yielded fruit
The heavens mumble priceless truth
Reaching, chasing, leaning, racing
Pushing, yearning, breaking, burning
Leaves of gold on reddish clay
Drop slightly, sweetly, like lingering rain
Musical quiet courts abiding peace
As nature aligns to the swelling beat
Listening, facing, seeing, tasting
Hearing, knowing, seizing, going
