On this day is love so grand?
How does this change from before?
Now it seems like a simple brand,
but love is love and not a law.
It comes and goes like little black swallows,
you can choose with the heart and mind;
than just the face in which you might follow
a path that's blind and entwined.
Oh the lost and alone do not weep,
the stars can only start to spring and sprout
as the coils of clockwork are truly deep
it can be hard to find and come about.
Time is time do not rush,
one day I am sure you will find that crush.

When you're not there I miss your kiss
I long for the bliss of your sweetness
Your hands warm on my cheeks, making me flush
When my arms circle your waist, don't think I don't see you blush
A candlelit dance with soft melodies playing
No one needs to say that we'll both be staying
Tangled in the sheets, your embrace is so sweet
Waves of heat, when our hearts meet
Dark brown puppy dog eyes, candy cane lies
The ruby throated hummingbird flies, and true love never dies

If The World is a Book, I Want to Read Every Page.
Let me memorize each dotted "i"
of moonlights freckled face
Trace the silver ripples
of a seashores wrinkled page
Count the auburn stanzas 'tween
the depths of trembling trees
Ride upon the vessel
of a sun-kissed simile.
Open sky-stripped windows
to the sigh of cursive clouds
Shuffle through the metaphors
Awaking through the ground
Slant the sails of poetry
toward continents of sea
Deep into the jungles where
the verses lace the trees.
Catch the winds of free verse
Or the open waves of rhyme
Sift through ocean ballads
where the sunset greets the tide.
Study drops of scripture
as it clicks against the street
Sleep between the pages
of departed poetry.
The Back of a Lotus Flower ~Chapter OneThe Back of a Lotus Flower ~Chapter One3 years ago in Sci-Fi More Like This
I should be fifth-teen soon, but that doesn't matter anymore. A few years ago, we came to the U.S. for better life, but mostly to get away from my father. My mother loved him deeply, so much that when died we had to move away from our country. Iceland was where we used to live, and we would have been safe if we had stayed there. Now we're here, in a state called Minnesota in the U.S. It used to mean United States, now it has a new meaning. Something I don't have the guts to write down.
I have four siblings, two of which that are turning thirteen in a month. When we left Iceland, my mother said, "No more children." She had always wanted to have seven children with father, but when he died, she was left with four of us and one on the way. After Lilija was born, she was never the same again. I had to play mother for my twin brothers and little sisters for two months before the Hunger Games was enacted.
When it was, my mother, Katrin, changed her act and raised us to be ready to become a t

When I die
Will you sing for me?
When I die
Will you cry?
When I die
Will you send flowers to my grave?
When I die
Will you be brave?
When I die
Will you still love me?
When I die
Will you let me be?
When I die
Will you throw away the ring?
When I die
Will you walk over the land like a king?
When I die
I will always be with you
By your side
And sing to you all day long.

Suspended in nothingness on spread gilded wings,
The brightest stars in a hollow black night
How though- for so bright are those divine
Is their grace astray from the path of our eyes?
Perhaps only when the stars have gone to sleep
And the clouds a blanket for the silver moon
The winds still, not blowing- the darkened night calm
Can we still hear some strains of their long lost songs
Lamentations, sorrows, pilings of misery on woe
Their loneliness in the Heavens, so overlooked by all
As each day passes; yet only more lose sight
Of these angels that were supposed to guide us to the right.
So now these beings, fading ever away:
Leave them to mourn for those without eyes-
And lack the ability to feel with the heart
God knows why I don't want to be an angel.

a crowning glory
cascading down a bare back
as if to beckon me closer
like tapered limbs

and the beautiful surround
of rugged peaks
thrusting through the soil,
knowing which direction

The Fable of the Stray FoxThe Fable of the Stray FoxThe Fable of the Stray Fox3 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
Just like people the animals hold their own societies, but whilst we elect to live in houses within or outside of cities the animals choose to remain outside all together. Take the fox, perhaps the most cunning and certainly among the dangerous of all animals to roam the woods. The foxes reigned proud in the centre of the woods, kings and queens among the animals there, feared and respected by all who wasn't a fox.
However like the societies of man, the foxes were capable of being unjust and cruel. In the coven of the foxes was born a youngling, he wasn't a runt nor was he a high ranking male but yet he was spurned by all whom was a fox. He wasn't sure why, he didn't feel too different from all the others. He walked like they did and acted like they did yet no matter what his endeavours it only got him shame from his parents and hatred from the coven. So the young fox grew to be alone.
The years and the foxes were unkind to the young fox, he learned to

And in this dream you are walking towards a tree
a beautiful tree full with hues of red and gold
it is intoxicating.
but no this tree in not favored by the stars nor the sun
though in this dream, you are in a forest with many trees, all the same
but not the same cause in this dream you are right in front of this tree
for no apparent reason
Why, is it special?
This tree is the one you chose.
Maybe it is your path
maybe it is your fate
or maybe just floating down a river with out the strength to swim to the shore
but this tree is special, for it is your dream
you see a hole…. in the trunk of this tree
A little below eye level, not to big, just enough to get your hand though
One would expect to pull a rabbit out of a hat
but seeing as this is a tree and no ordinary tree at that.
You pull the end of a ribbon…, out from this hole in a tree
but ordinary it seems.
for a ribbon…
So you pull
And you pull

Your beautiful brown eyes.
The way you stared deep into my soul.
Your lovely smile.
Your fierce calm.
Drinking chamomile tea with you.
The comfort of your presence.
Flirting and playing soccer with you.
Your beauty in that silver dress.
Your hair piled high on your head.
When you held my hand in yours.
The passion in your kiss.
The nights we spent alone together at Hickory Hill.
Almost getting caught making out.
The fire in your soul.
The trust that we shared.
The way you made me feel like I matter.
The euphoria I feel whenever I spend time with you.
The way you inspire me.
The way you've brought out an unimaginably deep love in my heart.
Your grace and composure.
Everything about you.

Believing In Soulmates
You are not an illusion
Nor are you a mere reflection
Though I can't explain what I'm feeling
I just know that you make me want to start believing
Dreaming inside of a fairytale
The reason to smile
Fantasizing within a dream
The reason to believe
Maybe those so-called miracles are truly real
And maybe love stories really have their sequels
Though it's near impossible to try and get rid of this doubt
But I know that I will eventually succeed, because you're here now
Just when I thought I was lost, you came around, then I realized I was found
You have to be the other side
The missing piece that fits just right
So let this love intertwine, as our eyes unite
Because our hearts have been in halves through out our lives
The calm after a loud silence
A long awaited balance
The lone star that glows in the darkness
A bright light to shine for the ages
The one and only warm fire on a world of ice
A longing peaceful paradise
I want you to know that

Everything is dark.
I see the world around me,
But never taking part.
My friends just overlook it,
I don't think they can see,
The thing inside,
That is killing me.
It tears at my heart and soul,
Eating me alive.
Sometimes I'm just wishing,
That I could just die.
I want someone to notice,
See that I am here.
To hold me close and tell me,
That they really care.
Everyone's so wrapped up in the life,
That all they see is their own.
I want them to see that I am sitting here,
Confused and so alone.

glistening with eel
hauling the afternoon
back to market

End RemembranceEnd Remembrance2 years ago in Historical More Like This
Remembrance Day originates at the end of World War I. The idea is to honor those who died in the line of duty, defending their country from enemies. For all its pompous words and fancy granite memorials littered with colorful flower bouquets, Remembrance Day and others like it have failed miserably in achieving this goal.
I've often been criticized as having no respect, and that can be an impediment when discussing certain topics. However, I am often in luck – hypocrisy deserves no respect. What changed as a result of the enormous sacrifice of those who died in WW1? As the first bombs of WW2 fell just two decades later, millions once again obediently lined up under various pieces of colored cloths to slaughter and be slaughtered. It became obvious that absolutely nothing had changed, and that the millions of WW1 had died in vain.
Most would agree that all that lip service paid to the sacrifice between the two world wars wasn't good enough. To truly honor their sacrifice would be
Contemplations of OneginContemplations of Onegin5 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
All the world's a stage,And all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances, And one man in his time plays many parts , His acts being seven ages
Verily does this adage resonate in this world. Everyday, I put on facade, a mask, of self-control and severity. If any signs of weakness show, it shall render me in destruction of others and myself. I disdain merryment ,laughter, and friendship.
Nay! These are only weapons in a guise that maim and mock us!
No faith do I possess, it is futile.I t is but a joke that drags us into its current of hope and then drowns us into despair.
Life is a cold slog through razor-sharp shards of ice.
A wall must be erected and let nothing penetrate through.
Sin is all too real.It crushes us in its grinding wheels, its pounding hooves, till we are nothing, like those before who sojourned along the path.

A good enemy is better than a best friend
A good enemy can't betray
A good enemy won't go away
A good enemy will be there at the end
A best friend will fail
A best friend tells you what to think
A best fiend pushes you to the brink
A best friend will bail
A good enemy pushes you forward
A good enemy tests your steel
A good enemy makes you real
A good enemy seeks no reward
A best friend makes demands
A best friend always judges
A best fiend holds grudges
A best friend won't withstand
With an enemy you know they hate you
With a friend you are not sure
To an enemy you can be true
When they run you through
It won't be from behind
A friend won't just let it end
Tell you they never liked you
Every story you tell they bend
Every wound you mend
They inflict two more
With enemies like these who needs friends
