The Latin Union is an international organization of nations that use Romance languages, with the aim of protecting, projecting, and promoting the common cultural heritage of Latin peoples and unifying identities of the Latin, and Latin-influenced, world.

The official languages of the Latin Union are:

1. Catalan
2. French
3. Italian
4. Portuguese
5. Romanian
6. Spanish

For this design, "L" and "U" were repeated thrice (to represent the constituent languages) in the form of the Roman Eagle. The colors, red and gold, come from the Flag of Rome.

This is the Asian-soviet union of nations flag, prior to the formation of AnthroFlux, after which the flag was changed slightly to a more pan-asian look.

I wanted to use a very simple design for this one, utilizing the Red Star and basic Red Flag setup as I want that soviet/communist look to it.

This one is about 2 years old. It's a logo for a creative agency called Symbol, inspired by the Mayan culture. Researched quite a bit on the meaning of the various symbols from that culture and thought the eagle was meaningful, relevant and allowed a recognizable logo.

Might scrap it later, don't really use it in my professional portfolios but hope you like :)

In this alternate reality, the Portuguese colonial empire suffers a "rationalization" of administration, being divided in four big companies:
  • Brazil: administers the Portuguese America. Its coat of arms is the same attributed to the State of Brazil in Portuguese Renaissance armorials.
  • Guinea: administers the Portuguese possessions in the Gulf of Guinea and the Atlantic islands. Its coat of arms contains a scepter with a African head, associated with the title of "Lord of Guinea".
  • Congo: administers Portuguese Congo (Cabinda), Angola and the relationship with the Kingdom of Kongo. Its coat of arms is similar to that given by Portuguese kings to their vassal the Manikongo (king of Kongo).
  • Indies: Administers Portuguese possessions in East Africa and Asia. Its coat of arms is that of Lesser India, with field changed from purpure (?) to gules, with the chief of Greater India.

Update 7/7/13: The information below is now inaccurate due to changes made in the story since the posting of this flag.

Flag of the Sednan Oceanic Union, a fictional union between the nations of Atliania, Atlasai, Chobanti, Celetica, and Meiapan, the union was formed to prevent a 2nd Sednan War that was fought between Atliania and Meiapan in the 1950's over the control of Sivet/Katherine I Island and the Eva island chain, both of which were rich in natural resources and fertile volcanic soil. The SOU mostly functions as a way of settling any disputes between two or more of its member nations and proved to be very effective, though through its history it was faced with fairly minor issues and disputes and wouldn't be truly tested until 2025.

The Sednan Oceanic Union Self Defense Forces (SOUSDF) deal in military matters concerning non-member states, although the armed forces of the member states had rarely saw action throughout the period from 1959-2025, most operations consisted of dealing with terrorists and rebels on islands controlled by member states and with policing the Sednan oceanic coasts, as well as internal issues within the country that operated a force under the SOUSDF, that was until the imperial Ustian country of Railsan invaded Meiapan on August 17th, 2025.

The flag is an light orange-red the color of the flower that the emblem represents, a white stylized Tysynthium flower, it is very common on many of the islands in the Sednan Ocean, it's petals represent the five member states, a star at its center represents the union itself as a tie between the five nations which had deep histories populated by wars that took place during the Imperial Era and the early Industrial Era.

I am currently working on a story project seperate to the UEA, Rodinia, and Black Sun projects, though it is still in the planning stages and will not hinder any efforts in contributing to the other three projects. I am still working out the backstory of the SOU, its member states, and Railsan, as well as other countries that will play more minor roles, this even before creating a plot outline and characters.

Flag used by the military forces of Union Global Defense Technologies (UGDT), a fictional megacorporation.

Union Global is the largest corporation in the world in 2038 A.D., involved in everything from pharmaceuticals to defense contractors to Private Military Companies (PMCs). It controls enough territory to make it virtually a country in and of itself, with its own military to boot.

I tried to keep the logo simple, like a modern corporation would. The circle symbolizes the Earth, with the break in the middle (a primitive trick of the eye creates the illusion of a line going through its center) being the equator. The oversimplified representation of the Earth (unintentionally) reflects the company's view of the world as merely a market to be exploited. How utterly bourgeois :) The indigo blue (my favorite color) is representative of 'nobility' - a reflection of the company's view of itself as the new technological aristocracy.

SEKHMET

Egyptian goddess of war and healing.
The symbol above contains of five elements:

O - THE CIRCLE
The Circle, in which the entire inner part is located, is the symbol of aton (the solar disk) that Sekhmet bears together with Uraeus (the cobra crown). She's solar deity because she's the daughter of Ra, the god of the sun. In many cultures circle represents the sun directly.

♌ - THE ASTROLOGICAL SIGN OF LEO (THE LION)
Sekhmet is a woman with the head of a lioness. This sign is merged into the ankh.

☥ - THE ANKH
Egyptian hieroglyphic symbol of eternal life, also known as the key of life and the key of the Nile. Sekhmet is portrayed bearing the ankh by its loop in her hand.

➙ - THE ARROW
Horizontal bar of the ankh is transformed into an arrow, the symbol of war.

↡ - THE RATTLE
At the end of the vertical bar of the ankh the rattle is located. The rattle comes from a rattlesnake that bears one at the end of its tale. Here, this is just a symbol of a snake. Firstly, because of Uraeus being borne by Sekhmet together with the solar disk. Secondly, snake is also a symbol of medicine (commonly known symbol called asklepian - the rod of Asclepius - contains a snake in it).

I hope You like my version of a symbol of my favourite Egyptian goddess!

"20000 Varuna is a Kuiper Belt object discovered in 2000 by R. McMillan. It was named after the Hindu god Varuna, so I based the symbol on the Devanagari character "Va" (?) and the snake-lasso Varuna is said to carry."
www.suberic.net/~dmm/astro/tno…

This one was a bit of stabbing in the dark. I know very little about Hinduism so I did my best looking for symbols and colors. I googled some info. Varuna was an ocean god that road on a strange chimera-like creature called a Makara. Googling that name brought me a great design that I used for the large central part. Searching more I found some great flags that gave me the particular red color, including the star burst pattern. I didn't want to make it a garish rainbow like many Hindu flags, so I went with the red.
