The Pair that Survived Chapter 9
Before the group left to Tenenbaum's bathasphere. She wrapped Walter's face with gauze bandages. To reach the bathasphere they had to cross through Pauper's Drop one more time.
When they passed the house Walter and Molly had used, Walter stopped at the door while the others continued to walk passed. Memories of the past five years came flooding into Walter. The door creaked when it opened. It was just like they left it a small bed on the right side of the house and a small table in the left corner close to the door. Walter was about to shut the door when something shiny caught his eye. It was a harmonica, siting square on a piece of cloth. Walter wrapped the harmonica in the cloth and put in his overall's pocket. Walter shut the door leaving the house and Pauper's Drop behind forever, but taking his memories with him.
When they reached Tenenbaum's bathasphere it was a bitter sweet moment for Walter. He had come to Rapture in search of work and opportunity, but found

When Subject Zeta and Molly would gather Zeta would have what he thought were his memories. They were fuzzy pictures of activities he thought had done once before. Like, When Molly had wandered into a workshop in Hephaestus. He had looked at a workbench and one of his memories came to him. He could see himself as a normal man, dressed in welder's clothes and a snap-brim hat. At the end of his work shift he could see himself put his clothes back into his locker and walk away.
There were brighter moments to Walter as Subject Zeta when he would wander with Molly on gatherings. Once in Pauper's Drop Zeta and Molly were on their rounds and Molly had spotted a dead splicer on one of the walk ways. She was so excited she didn't bother to ask Zeta to help. She began to search for crates and boxes to stack up and reach the splicer. Zeta just stood back and watched as Molly scurried back and forth finding boxes and setting them on top of each other. After stacking the amount of boxes she thought

On New year's Eve in 1959 civil war broke out in Rapture. Many Big Daddies and Little Sisters died with in the first few weeks. Subject Zeta and Molly escaped, but not without an encounter or two. Zeta was putting Molly in a vent in the basement of Ryan Amusments; when a loud explosion went off near the entrance of the park. Zeta quickly turned around toward the stairwell and waited. One splicer came down the stairs and called to the other splicers up stairs,
"There's a Daddy down here!" Zeta felt his instinct take over "PROTECT THE VENT AT ALL COST!" Zeta switched to his rivet gun and took a defensive stance keeping the vent to his back. Five splicers armed with pistols and shotguns came down the stairs. Zeta roared and fired the rivet gun at the splicers. One was killed instantly while the other four charged. One splicer shot Zeta with an Electro bolt, he could feel the electricity stinging and burning but it did not phase him. Zeta still held his ground, he switched to his drill

After they found a workbench, Tenenbaum began to take off Zeta's suit. After minuets of unscrewing, Zeta's helmet came off revealing his face. Now his face wasn't horribly deformed like most Big Daddies, but deformed none the less. Molly put her hand over her mouth to try and hide her shock. She had always pictured Zeta as a knight in shining armor with a beautiful face, not a disfigured man. Zeta walked over to a line of lockers that were next to the workbench and opened the locker with the name,"Walter Reed." Zeta grabbed a wallet from the top shelf of the locker and took out a picture. The picture was of Walter and some fellow workmen; Zeta pointed to himself in the picture and back at himself.
"This is you?" Molly said.
"What a handsome picture." said Tenenbaum. Zeta turned the picture over to show the names of the people in the picture, Zeta pointed to his name on the back. "Walter Reed?" Tenenbaum said holding the picture in her hand.
"You do look like a Walter." Molly said

When Walter Reed was caught smuggling for Fontain by Andrew Ryan's men in 1957, he was imprisoned at Persephone Penal Colony and put into The Protector Program. He was stripped of his name and most of his humanity. He was given a new name, Subject Zeta, was bonded to a Little Sister from the orphanage, and her name was Molly. Subject Zeta was bonded to Molly later that same year in 1957.
Subject Zeta would follow Molly where ever she went being her silent protector, watching over as she would gather ADAM from fallen splicers. Being part of the Alpha Series, he retained more free will and thinking compared to the later models of Big Daddies. This would help protect his Little Sister from harm.
There was this one instance when Zeta was following Molly in what is now called, "Siren Alley." Molly would always walk a few feet in front of Zeta when they were gathering. Molly had walked through a door in one of the buildings when the door slammed shut. Molly screamed for Zeta. Zeta slammed hi

Walter reached the metal shop and entered through the loading dock in the back. The owner of the shop was Ralph Fergason and the name of the shop was Ralph's Metal fabricator. Walter went to his locker and grabbed his shop apron, his welder's goggles, and leather welding gloves. Ralph was in his office looking at the work orders cluttering his desk. The time-punch clock was outside of Ralph's office and Walter grabbed his card and punched in, Ralph had picked up one of the orders and was reading it when he saw Walter out of the corner of his eye.
"Walter, good to see you I have five orders that need to get done by the end of the day and you need to work on two of them." Ralph said to him from inside the office. Walter gave Ralph a nod and went inside the office and was handed the order forms. Walter had to weld together cross sections to an outdoor planter box and a large hand rail for the Mary's Point library steps. Walter went to his little area surrounded by a special curtain to kee

After a minuet Zeta opened the door to reveal 20 dead splicers strewn about Pauper's Drop. Molly walked out of the the house and searched the bodies for money and food. She took her syringe and gathered ADAM from some of the splicers. The residents of Pauper's Drop that didn't answer Grace Holloway's call to arms came out of their housings to look of the damage. The few people that were still sane and not spliced out of their minds, began to clear the streets of the bodies. Zeta also helped move the bodies from the streets. When the streets were clear Molly skipped up to Zeta. "Daddy, I'm going to go buy a Pep bar and Hop cola." Zeta moaned and nodded. Molly smiled and skipped to the nearest Circus of value.
It was later in the day when an alarm echoed through Pauper's Drop, the "Rapture Family" was going to be detonating explosives. There was talk that Sophia Lamb had gone crazy. After the explosions it was heard that Sophia Lamb had left Rapture with "The People's Daughter"

Another year of surviving in Rapture came and went before someone would entered Rapture. It was a familiar face, Brigid Tenenbaum. After a year of tireless research and with the help of Charles Milton Porter she found the cure for ADAM sickness. She first began searching for any remaining Little Sisters and rescuing them to once and for all wipe her conscience clean. She had saved many by the time she made it to Pauper's Drop. Zeta and Molly were out for a walk when Brigid Tenenbaum made it to that section in Pauper's Drop. She had walked up to Molly and held her face in her hands.
"My, how my little one has grown up." Tenenbaum said looking into Molly's yellow eyes. Zeta stood behind Tenenbaum and roared. Tenenbaum turned to look at Zeta.
" Ah, you must be this little one's guardian. You are also a very old Big Daddy, Zeta from what I can tell by your glove. Don't worry Herr Zeta, I will not save her until I save you." Tenenbaum reached into her bag and took out a small phial of t
