Golden MorningAnd in this darkness, never fleeting, always with me
You bear a flame, drawing nearer
To spirit away these lonely tears
Love so dear and tender, gentle warmth
Scare away the fighting demons
Before the dawn, dark and vile
Stay, my love, always near me
Cross all borders, fences shattered
Don't leave, walk into the evanescence
Of the sighing, swirling mist of morning
Oh, gentle love, formed of sun's golden light
Take us far above the sorrows of this sad night

You used to be my immortal, my tourniquet
An imaginary anchor to hold on to
While I'm being crushed by the weight of the world
I am now haunted by your once gentle voice
Missing is the love I once had for you
But I shall not lose control like you did
No longer your star, but your sweet sacrifice
The lithium carries me farther away
Until I breathe no more
In my last breath I shall whisper softly
That I was good enough for you
While the doctors try to bring me to life
You hold my hand, look at me with dry eyes
And call me your snow white queen

Blades of grass shiver then rest
Rise and fall like a dreamer's chest
The hum of crickets singing their song
A night of peace that won't last long
There we lay, alone with our love
Stars from heaven hang just above
Your lips so soft, brushing my skin
Its feathery touch makes my head spin
I look into your eyes, deep as the sea
You hold my gaze as you smile at me
The beauty of our love made us appear to shine
We'll always have each other, your hand in mine
True LoveSee her lying on the hospital bedTrue Love4 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Doctors rushing, knowing it's too late
Holds her hand, says he loves her
Flatline ringing in his head
Tears fall, splashing on her lifeless body
Harsh lights, cold, blinding
Driving home, thinking of her
Empty house, lonely silence
Agony, heartwrenching pain
The closet, hidden deep inside
Searching, frantically searching
Grab it, load it, walk to the nightstand
Her smiling face, captured in photograph
Closed eyes, don't think
Next to his head, hands shaking
Deep breath, in, out, in, out
Look at her face one last time
Smile, say they'll be together soon
Pull the trigger, collapse, never to rise again
Unblinking stare, at peace forever more
In the heavens, with his one true love

Though I barely know you
You're the one I always talk to
The only one who will listen to these words I choke on
I always wait for you to start conversations, though
For fear that you don't want to talk to me
Can you see what you've done to me?
Can you see my heart break a little more
Every time you walk into the room?
This love for you torments me
Until I can barely think
At least, not about anything but you
Maybe someday you will see
That although it seems like I don't care
I'm terrified of you leaving me
I let you in, now please don't try to tear your way out
Please don't make my heart bleed for you
For every time you make me laugh
My heart aches a little more

Opens her eyes, looks up at the sky
Confused thoughts overflowing in her mind
Tries to sit up, head begins to spin
Aching body protests, injured from the fall
She looks to the shining stars, her sisters in the heavens
Daughters of the moon, glowing like fireflies in the summer
She begins to remember, like a memory long since past
A rip in the sky, a passage between Heaven and Earth
Curiousity grabbed hold of her, enticing her to look within
Stumble into it, plunging into the land under the moon
Where humans walk in the shadow of places forgotten by the sun
A dark place, not the grand world she was once led to believe
Shiver in her thin dress, hugging her pale, delicate frame
The pale blue of forget-me-nots, shot with silver like beads of dew
Barefeet sinking in the soft ground as she stands, trembling
Looks around, all alone, empty silence
Homesick and lonesome, tears sliding down her face
Notice something from the corner of her eye, a small movement

A prettier sight you'd never seen
Long raven hair, soft pale skin
A heart every man wanted to win
Clear blue eyes, deep as the sea
As gentle a soul as there could ever be
Then one quiet winter's day
She ventured to where she used to play
A forest so thick, not bothered by light
But not too far in she was given a fright
For before her stood a man so strong
His piercing eyes watched her far too long
She turned, a sparrow in flight, too late
He held her fast, told her to wait
He meant no harm, he looked so sweet
And so they agreed from then on they'd meet
Every day they were together in secret
She felt happy to bursting every time they met
A few weeks later, he loved her he said
So with this, alas, they agreed to wed
She wore her mother's antique wedding dress
They were to meet late at night, under moonlight's caress
Poor thing, she waited what seemed like forever
But her love would soon complete his wicked endeavour
She sees only a shadow before it all goes
Crimson LoveMy heart is broken, beaten and batteredCrimson Love3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Shattered like the most delicate of glass roses
It lies next to you in your bleak and desolate grave
The solemn hole you fell into when you took your final breath
Our life was sound, our love pure
Then we watched our walls come crashing down
As fate intervened in the form of reality
We heard the death clock's chilling chime
I'm left forlorn in this tragic world
I try to live but all in vain
It's not living without you
All that's left are my memories, my illusions, my delusions
The ominous blade, a reassuring friend in which I trust
Glistening with the tears I cry for what could have been
It slides so lovingly into the empty void of my once beating heart
An incredulous and overwhelming sense of relief
I lie in a pool of crimson love
Smiling as I fall from grace
Now we can be together forever
In the land of perpetual darkness

Truth and FalsehoodOne day, Truth and Falsehood met at an inn, both weary from their travels. "My old friend!" cried Truth, "Come, allow me to buy you a drink." So they drank and exchanged stories of their travels. As they talked, Envy walked into the inn. Upon seeing Truth and Falsehood, Envy grew jealous of their friendship. Envy decided to find a way to make them hate each other. Now, it so happened that Greed was staying at the same inn. Envy met with Greed to form a plan. "Look at those two," Envy hissed. "They can't be friends, they never agree on anything!" Greed was only half listening. Envy knew this, but was ready for it. "Of course," Envy said softly, "we need to stop it. It is unnatural, like a bird with no flight, or a fish that can't swim." At this, Envy pulled out a bag of gold coins. Greed's heart began to race, fingers itching to just grab the bag, to caress the gold with loving fingertips. Envy smirked triumphantly, the plan was working perfectly. How much I love you in every way
My love for you is an endless line
I apologize if I ever whine
My love reaches far beyond the sky
I'm sorry if I ever lie
I love you more than fish love the sea
Or more than a flower loves a bee
If I could reach beyond the Earth
To where the universe gave birth
To millions of shining stars anew
I'd find the brightest and give it to you
You do so much for all of us
Even when we make a fuss
You work all day and never rest
You seem to always know what's best
I'm thankful for all that you do
And I know you'll always love me too
You're very special as you can see
I love you, the greatest mom there could ever be

The very sky itself appeared to be on fire
So beautiful was the sight that my soul wished to cry out
And my heart sing to the heavens
Do you think this strange?
I beg of you to hear me out, for I don't
What I find strange is the wonderful gifts of nature
Being ignored all around us
Yet far worse are the people
Who acknowledge these beautiful things
Though are unmoved by them
It makes me wonder how we can live
Through our lives of pain and misery
Without the little joys in life to keep us sane

She's been gone since yesterday,
He told me,
That when she left,
She said she wasn't coming home,
All she took,
Was pen and paper,
So that she can say goodbye,
When her words leave.
Have you seen her?
He can't find her,
But he will,
Because he has to,
He loves her,
So he'll find her,
And he'll be okay,
Because she'll be okay.
Have you seen her?
She went down the darker road,
You might have seen her on the way,
I hope she's happy now,
He loved her so dearly,
But she has what she wanted,
He'll miss her,
When he truly knows she's gone,
Though she still looks so beautiful,
Swinging in the breeze.
Have you seen her?
She had a note in her pocket,
"I'll see you soon,"
She's looking forward to company,
I wonder if he'll go,
He misses her,
He needs her,
I'm sure he'll be there soon,
He needs her.
Have you seen her?,
So still in her coffin,
For her own funeral,
I'm glad she wrote a note,

Hear sirens screaming, drop the gun
Running, running, no stopping
Thinking back, years long past
Pushing, shoving, glasses falling
Hear them shatter, endless taunting
Can't forget, can't forgive what they said
Pain inside, a dark flower blooming
Back to the present, feet thudding on the hard streets
Heart racing, struggle for breath
Distant screaming as his young body is discovered
Try to ignore it, focus on each step
Rain begins to fall, softly first
It begins to pour, pounding in rhythm with her heart
Running until she can feel no more
Lay down, into a deep and dreamless sleep
An escape from the nightmare in which she now lives
Fallen AngelDrapes of smoke fell across the misty mountain foot,Fallen Angel2 years ago in Visual & Found Poetry More Like This
Devoid of warmth and love the corpse arose.
Fallen from grace to the damnation of the world
To walk amongst mortal and foolish things.
No recollection could force more hatred from a wretched being
Than that of the peace once found within that lifeless bosom.
On those canyon walls crept the face of the immortal Death:
Harbinger of destruction and thief of souls.
Oh though the mighty fall and the weak of spirit flee
This world was never promised to be a safe haven.
Earth: the mid-point between Heaven and Hell
Pillage and ruin sang of such sweet delights.
An angel fallen from Heaven, cast from God's love
Walks seeking those who will follow him.
He turns those away from eternal life and the warmth of love
And smothers them on the dark and lonely path to Hell.

Darkness and misery,
The darkness inside of her finally found,
Never to wait,
Now standing aside,
And using me as bait,
She saw what the truth was,
And fell from the sky,
Found her true evil,
And wanted to try,
Always so perfect,
Pretty and petit,
Changing her image,
Playing a new beat,
Storming off into the world,
Showing no pain,
Why the devil liked this game,
Once my lovely angel,
Wrapped in golden light,
Now strangling me in her arms,
And about to win the fight,
Falling from her perch,
Furious and confused,
She doesn't like to take orders,
Now she's no longer amused,
Tired of being a puppet,
For others to pull the strings,
Willingly cutting off her wings,
Just to hear what a devil sings,
Bitter and deceived,
Careless at the least,
Is higher than she was with wings,
Unleashing the inner beast,
No longer protecting,
But still just as close,
Always on the lookout,
And leaving a rose,
Couldn't leave it all behind,

the only light I'll ever know
I don't fear the endless night
the howling beasts and tortured souls
Some say Hell is agony
a curse for all eternity
but is it wrong for me to have
peace and solitude at last?
Slowly, slowly, then they came
tendrils overtaking soul
righteous, good, a blessing they say
as my heart's stranger eats its prey
And now I'm falling up and up
crying frozen tears of shame
the light begins to burn my eyes
and now I'm crying tears aflame.
I wake to blurry atmosphere
my body beaten, bruised
but through the pain I see the white
and the angels flying by.
Never will I be one of them.
What clever punishment!
For darkness is my only home
the only light I'll ever know.

Fallen, cursed, thrown from the sky.
The pearly gates are closed to him.
For his love, and for his sin.
Can you ever understand,
What its like to walk on sand,
After treading on the sky.
If thats your fate, tis better to die.
Love can hurt, love can blind,
But it can heal, soul, body, and mind.
Keep your love filled moments, and treasure each,
Lest some day, your love falls out out of reach.

Descending to the world in darkest dusk,
A winged boy, a hybrid since his birth,
Now but a grounded, broken, soulless husk.
His vision blurred by searing, crippling pain,
His wings a shattered vestige of his pride,
The angel staggers up the cratered plain,
Defiant, hardened, burned and cast aside.
A sudden sound of movement caught his ear,
His burdened body stopped in painful care,
Resigning to his weakness, blight and fear,
Accepting what fate he is forced to bear.
"If anyone is there, any at all,
Help me or end my pains, and let me fall."

Strength has finally faded
Need somewhere safe to hide.

Recover from the fall
My soft wings wrap around me
And protect me from it all.

The bits of all the small things in life
had been strewn across her hair, a feathered wreath
but sadly all flown into fire, forever destroyed--
The light of her halo has melted into oblivion,
disappearing into the depths of eternal death.
She is thrown from the cliff, hope gone
and blood splattering roses everywhere.
Where is the nymph that once sang of faith?
Where is the angel that wore a white robe of innocence?
She has died.
