Rainsweeper by ~Kaelri is another leap in making Rainmeter do things that no one ever thought possible. Through the use of a clever Lua script Rainsweeper is a clone of the classic Minesweeper game. The ingenious design allows for many features including a GUI options editor, saved high scores, and it has no images or other resource files making it light as it can be.
Thanks for the hard work on another amazing skin!

Fake DeviantsNo offense, but... There are some people who are getting too fake on dA. They only want posts, comments, or to see how many friends and page views they can get. So let's see who will actually re-post this. This is a test to see who's paying attention. This is a test to see how many people in my friends list actually pay attention to me. Copy and re-post in your own journal. Let's see who the real people are. Re-post this if you aren't a fake.Fake Deviants1 year ago in Personal More Like This

1M Downloads & GithubThis day marks a special milestone of achievement for the developers of Omnimo. A humble project that started almost two years ago reached one million downloads today. Most of you probably don't know that this project was supposed to be much smaller. When I came up with the early concept in the middle of March, I intended it to have approximately 12 panels and several text items.1M Downloads & Github1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Omnimo: The Beginning
Nothing more. However, shortly after the concept, Xyrfo joined the project. And with our combined passion and ambition, as well as with some help from others, we managed to create the biggest Rainmeter suite ever. Xyrfo did some amazing stuff for the project. Things without which it would just remain but a dream of a madman. But he did it! For that, he deserves no less recognition than I do.
And of course, we would like to thank the community for all the support! You guys are awesome! Nothing motivates doing a project better than to see people use and enjoy the product. W
Skin of the What? After some discussion we have decided to bring back Skin of theSkin of the What?3 weeks ago in Personal More Like This
QuarterSeason. This is a reincarnation of our old Skin of the Month contests, just a bit more spread out.
The plan so far is to have a one month nomination period after each quarter of the year. We will only be accepting nominations of skins that were submitted to DeviantArt within that quarter of the year. We're hoping this will encourage the creation of new skins. Because of a limitation to the number of items we can place on a single pole, we the moderators reserve the right to whittle down the competition before voting.
After nominations are closed we will have one week of voting. There may even be a prize for the winner.
As of this blog the rules are as follows:
A Skin of the Quarter must be released during the time period of the poll.
There is a technical limit of 10 suggestions per poll. Suggestions exceeding this limit may be decided upon by the moderators.
You cannot suggest your own skins or sui

From the Writer
First of all, I hope you all had a splendid week. There were some exciting new changes on dA this week. The one that most of you should be already aware of are username changes. The deviantART community as a whole seem to be split on whether it's beneficial to the community. I'd really love to hear what you think about it all.
Another major thing is our dA Related CV, $namenotrequired has taken over another g

How I nearly killed my computerI downloaded Windows Blue b. 9385 leaked build. I installed it on my Virtual machine. How I nearly killed my computer3 weeks ago in Personal More Like This
Then I used Windows Blue, I found that IE had awesome brand new dev tools.
I decided to copy the Internet Explorer folder to port it to Windows 8.
I replaced the Internet Explorer folder on Windows 8 with the new Internet Explorer from Windows Blue.
I started Internet Explorer. I had hundreds of IE proccesses coming up (task manager). But NO IE window was showing.
It used 87% of my RAM (4GB).
I tried to close all the IE processes but I couldn't.
I shut down my computer by unpluging it (took too much time)
How I fixed the problem :
Windows 8 could still boot up, but I wanted to be sure that there wouldn't be a problem.
So I started Windows 7 (dual boot), I replaced back the files (yes I can access Win 8 files for Win 7).
Problem fixed, and I can open IE now.
*Yes, I download leaked builds, I'm bad *
Join the game! Win a Free Sketch! Can you remember the last "sketch-roulette game" ? The time's come to start a new one!Join the game! Win a Free Sketch!3 months ago in Personal More Like This
I received a lot of requests and I'm really sorry but I can't do them all. I think this is the best way to grant a free sketch for those who can't afford a commission.
So, Do you want a free sketch?
Then, just follow these simple guidelines:
- - -
1) To join the game you must be at least a member of my supporting group ---> :icon77Shaya77supporters:
2) Write a comment here! (not your sketch request, just list your participation) I will add your name to the list!
3) Wait the beginning of the game when your name (as position number) could be randomly drawn.
4) If you'll be the winner, send me a note about your drawing (note that I will do a single character sketch, usually a waist-up and not complex pictures)
5) Good Luck!

May the luckiest one win! XD

As a person who also suggests DDs once in a while, I do understand the frustration suggesters often get. So I would like in this occasion to explain some of the reasons why th

Comment Counts Under Thumbnail Images
Two weeks ago, we released comment counts under thumbnail images to Beta Testers. Today, the feature has been rolled out to everyone. We believe that this feature adds more context to the experience of viewing artwork on deviantART. You'll now find comment counts underneath the thumbnails of deviations -- they can be seen when browsing or searching art, and also display in your Message Center. We hope this feature will help bring to light the fact

I see a lot of comments here and there that go something like this...
"50 points?? Why would I pay 50 points for an adopt..."
"100 points? Are you sure you're not overpricing that...?!"
And I'm sure many of you have seen similar comments, now I understand that points aren't the easiest things to accumulate when you're fresh into dA or even well into your time here, as I was once a 13 year old kid who joined dA and got excited over her first 10 points ...which I kept and refused to spend because i

deviantART and Journal spam: what we're doing!Spam is a constant thorn in the side of every Internet user's daily life. From the mundane to the surreal, these emails appear in our inboxes so frequently, messages from South African attorneys offering $10 million dollars get marked as spam without a second thought to savvy users.deviantART and Journal spam: what we're doing!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
We define spam as the misuse of communication systems to send unsolicited bulk messages indiscriminately to our deviants. Typically, the content of spam messages is aimed at advertising a product that is often counterfeit or potentially malicious. With the rise of social networking, there's been an increase in more direct spamming -- companies who directly target your social network profiles.
"Over the last few years, deviantART has had a small but unfortunate stream of such abuse. Usually, it’s as easy as banning the offending members and moving on to more pressing problems, but recently something happened that caused us to re-evaluate how we handle spam issues."

I have recently come across a most disturbing phenomenon in my studies of the Diabolic Infestation of the Soul. It seems there is a most frightening psychological conundrum when considering the concept of demonic possession even the most remote possibility of reality upon our earthly plane is the notion that just believing it may be true could very likely be the spark needed for the Demon to discover, seek out, and ultimately inhabit its next vessel of evil: You.
