Food. Polymer clay food. There's a strange fascination between polymer clay crafters to make food, if you ask many of us won't even be able to explain what's so addictive about making fake food. Some of it is crafted for doll houses and doll props, some people make beautiful jewelry with food, but some just make it because it's so incredibly fun.

Big BenSo in case you haven't heard yet, some kind YouTuber found the reference image I used to draw Big Ben for my London poster, warped and skewed it to match the angle, and made a rather catchy song proclaiming how I traced it while the image flickers back and fourth between the photo and my drawing as "proof."Big Ben3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I know I have haters out there, and some of them seem to have unhealthy obsessions with finding fault in everything I do, but this is taking it pretty far, don't you think? Even if it were traced, Big Ben is such an iconic image that you'd be hard pressed to find a different angle to work with, especially since it's box-shaped and all sides look the same.
I should probably point out that if you see pixelation in the tower, it's because the whole image has been reduced and saved at only 60% normal JPEG compression. It's a trick used to keep the image good enough to be seen but bad enough to be printed, thus encouraging sales on the larger non pixelated poster.
With only days to go be
MCM London ExpoIf you haven't seen anything from me in a while, it's because I'm in London and don't have ready access to the interwebs.MCM London Expo3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Tomorrow is the MCM London Expo. I'll be located at table AB8 in the dealers room NOT in artist alley. So don't look for me in the artist alley because I won't be there! Lol.
Humon and Vitaly have been Trolling each other, which you've probably seen a bit of if you watch either of them. Silly guys...
The convention starts tomorrow and goes through the weekend! Hope to see you there!
PS: I was trying to pick a winner to the contest before I left but ran out of time. Now I won't be able to pick a winner till I get back from London, so sorry about that.
EDIT: I've been informed that we do indeed have an artist alley table... So... I haven't got the foggiest idea where I will be located now. Best to just look all over then! Sorry..
Point Commissions!! :-)Well, I thought long about this and after I was asked for it, I decided to start taking point commissions for a while. If you are interested, then please read the following:Point Commissions!! :-)4 years ago in Personal More Like This
+What I'm gonna do+
- your character/OC (priority here would be Transformers OC and anything animallike)
- your character as an animal or any other creature, that isn't copyrighted or only copyrighted by myself (Speedhunter)
- any other animal or creature that isn't copyright by someone else, you want me to design for you
- fanart or crossover with animals (f.e. Naruto foxes)
- bloody, creepy or sexual stuff, as long as it isn't too extreme
+What I'm NOT gonna do+
- your character as an existing creature, that is copyrighted by someone else (lockjaw, zerudo, noface etc.)
Please ask me, if you have any questions!!

Reasons to like 'Star Trek - Enterprise':iconDoctorWhoOne: Ola Dudes !!.Reasons to like 'Star Trek - Enterprise'1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Ok, today, as part of my Star Trek - Enterprise DVD Marathon to which I have been watching every single episode of all 98 episode every morning since the start of this month [just finished series 3 today so just series 4 left to go ], I thought I'd talk about what good reasons there are to appreciate the prequel of all Star Trek, cos as I understand it, a lot of fan's sadly hate the prequel, but I think there are good reasons to like it if you really give it a chance
Archer's Enterprise is the first ever Starfleet ship in the history of Starfleet itself, followed by the Columbia NX-02. Archer's Enterprise may lack shields and tractor beams, but one thing you have to remember about this particular Enterprise is that she came from a time when no earth vessel had such capabilities, so polarized hull plating and a device called the grapler had to be used instead by Starfleet at the time. StarGate SG1 - But For Real!REPLICATORS! Ring any bells?StarGate SG1 - But For Real!6 years ago in Personal More Like This
Look at your computer setup and imagine that you hooked up a 3D printer. Instead of printing on bits of paper this 3D printer makes real, robust, mechanical parts. To give you an idea of how robust, think Lego bricks and you're in the right area. You could make lots of useful stuff, but interestingly you could also make most of the parts to make another 3D printer. That would be a machine that could copy itself.
RepRap is short for Replicating Rapid-prototyper. It is the practical self-copying 3D printer shown on the right - a self-replicating machine. This 3D printer builds the parts up in layers of plastic. This technology already exists, but the cheapest commercial machine would cost you about 30,000. And it isn't even designed so that it can make itself. So what the RepRap team are doing is to develop and to give away the designs for a much cheaper machine with the novel capability of being able to self-copy (material costs are about 500). T

Working Without a Pattern
Hi everyone! I'm TheSmall-Stuff and what I love is to make amigurumi, but I'm never patient enough to use a pattern. Because of this, I've found and developed a bunch of techniques that I use while designing the dolls that I make! What I'm going to try to do is explain my thought process in making a doll, and share some of the techniques that I use to form the shapes and the details in a character. Sorry it's long, but I tried to use lots of pictures. I hope this helps! Lets start
Shapes are key!
When you go to make a doll, you need to pick it apart in your head and see all of the shapes that make the character. Sometimes it's easier to draw out a diagram of all of the pieces that go into the doll, to get a good idea of how it fits together. While you're planning, it's good to be thinking "How do I make this?" while you choose shapes. However
