PE: Mastery and Purpose in Your Art"Wow, you’re so talented, I could never draw like that even in a million years!"PE: Mastery and Purpose in Your Art2 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This
"You’re either really good at art or you aren’t."
"Some people have all the talent, and I’m not one of them."
We hear and see things like this all the time and people with the middle to high range art skills know these comments are just not true. As author Geoff Colvin says in his book by the same title, "Talent is overrated," and really it is. There is no such thing as one person being born super talented and another having none at all or other such myths in art like that. The only difference between you the beginner artist and that artist way up at the top is hard work, smart work and time.
One major study (listed in 'Talent Is Overrated') showed that there was no such thing as the ‘talented’ elite who hardly work and just come out on top. It was found that there was no such thing as the person who just worked super hard consistently
PE: 9 tips to be more creativeCreativity isn't just an artist's concern. Creativity is about using your imagination in every endeavor. Believe it or not, you are a creative person already. However, these tips might inspire you to get the best of what you already have.PE: 9 tips to be more creative2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
1. GET OUTSIDE
This comes as a very first tip for a reason. Whether it's outside your house or outside your mind, changing your perspective will help the ideas flow.
2. DRINK ENOUGH WATER
Your brain functions much better when well-hydrated. Symptoms of mild dehydration include tiredness, headache, muscle weakness, and dizziness - these are certainly not going to help you to think straight.
Exercise produces endorphins that might as well be responsible for your next brilliant idea.
Dreaming is very important, inside a dream nothing is impossible. Use that to your advantage.
5. STOP WATCHING TELEVISION
Or better yet, get rid of the damn thing. TV is a mind-killer. Turn it off. Even if th

PE: 5 reasons to believe in yourselfSuccess is not a measure of how much money you earn or how popular you are, rather, it is being able to find your passion - one that makes you happy and ultimately, one that you would be happy to leave as your legacy. To make a step forward to reach your dream takes smarts and guts but why couldn't you? Here is five reasons why you can.PE: 5 reasons to believe in yourself2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
1. Everyone was born equal
More-less, this is true, some people are born more challenged than others but we all possess skills and ability to learn. It is possible to build something out of nothing if we really want to. It all comes down to our preferences and decisions.
"Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent."
2. Overcoming your fears
By constantly challenging yourself, you can get rid of fears that used to follow you. You will no longer be worried, you'll know you can count on yourself.
"If you think you can, you can. If you think you can't, you're right."

PE: 9 ways to overcome (artistic) Frustration.9 ways to overcome (artistic) FrustrationPE: 9 ways to overcome (artistic) Frustration.2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
Everyone has heard of it, everyone fears the very sight of it, but if you are an artist, there is a good chance it creeps at you regularly, more often than a flu, in various forms and intensity; in psychology, Frustration is a common emotional response to opposition / obstacle, is related to anger and disappointment and its strength depends on the size of the established challenge. When Frustration calls you more often than your mother does, it's time to take an action!
1. - TAKE A WALK
Try to get your feelings straight by walking it out of your system. Is it raining or snowing? Even better, get soaked and dry out.
2. - SHIFT YOUR FOCUS
Sleep on it. Make yourself busy with small repetitive tasks, watch a good movie or comedy, play a game, visit your family or a friend, cook a new recipe, get a haircut, tidy up your room or house, watch a documentary, have a chocolate, take a horse ridi

But I'm opening limited amount of commissions slots from time to time. If you are interested to commission me, you have to catch the slot or email me. I will see what i can do >u<
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED
Send me a NOTE entitled "commission"
The note should include:
- commission type
- reference pictures
- description (poses etc). Try to write concisely and to the point. PLEASE try to avoid wall of texts - english is not my first language, and sometimes, i need to read the references few times, before i understand all. Unnecessary wall of text is not helping me :C
- additional informations or questions (if needed)
Please, dont send me 'quick/short slot reservation notes' (for example: "i wan't to reserve a slot, i will send you references later"). If you don't have the references yet, put just few words about your req
BC Bookbinding Instructional Book!I have created some tutorials in response to several requests over the years. In that time I have also been gathering and formulating for my own Instructional book to have published in the near future.BC Bookbinding Instructional Book!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I have myself used instructional books over the years, but have found that they only go so far or are redundant. I want to bring to my audience and those with the desire to learn the craft a book that will instruct in a way that is easy to understand and excites the creator.
Some of my bookbinding friends have warned me not to reveal all my secrets. I do not intend to do this, but what I do intend to do is help others create and feel confident in creating a durable leather-bound book with the quality and the techniques of old.
I only ask for your patience as this is in the works and will not be rushed. I will reveal when I intend to publish.
I would love some feedback and any requests that all of you wonderful people might have. Remember, this instructional book will be created with my g

You finally got your bags and left the airplane. "(y/n), is that you" yell your aunt. "oh, aunt Yuna you're here." "what took you so long (y/n)." It was your first day of school and you were going to be late. "Aunt Yuna I'm leaving now." You were running when you accidentally ran into someone. "Oh I'm sorry." "It's okay more importantly are you hurt." said the strange hair colored boy. "Y-yeah I'm okay thank you." "My name is Yuki Sohma and what is your name." You blushed a bit and said "I am (y/n) (l/n) nice to meet you." You and Yuki walked to school together not knowing that 3 pairs of eyes were watching you.

"Everyone meet (y/n) (l/n)." said the home room teacher. "Hello it is a pleasure to meet you all." "(y/n
Erwin x Male!Reader-----I felt that having Reader-chan being a male would be better for the plot in the story. .3. Enjoy!----Erwin x Male!Reader1 year ago in Personal More Like This
The sound of thunder had awoken you from your sleep. You looked up, seeing yourself in your dim-lighted office. you sighed as you noticed the stacks of paperwork next work. You raised both of your hands, wanting to rub your eyes out from the lack of sleep. You took notice of the older blonde male across from you, also doing some paperwork. You groaned as you still had hours before you even finish the tiring work.
Commander Erwin looked up at you, showing off his emotionless face. You have gotten used to the blank staring, everyday, you and Erwin would be sitting in your office and doing paperwork. Reading through articles and organizing battle techniques against the Titans. You had to admit, even with your kind of intelligence, there would always be times where you were always such a klutz.
No matter what day or hour, you always find yourself making mistakes. such as organizing th

Daily Deviations UpdateHappy Monday MorningDaily Deviations Update3 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This
I started this morning by signing something "Moonbam13" so either this typo means I need more coffee, or this week is going to be BAMTASTIC!
I'm rooting for the latter
I wanted to post a quick update on changes to Daily Deviations. It is important to note that these changes have not been hard-coded so my team is manually following these new guidelines. This means that errors can and likely will occur until the coding is complete, your patience and understanding is appreciated
The following guideline changes are in effect:
The 3-month rule is now the 6-month rule, meaning that it must be at least 6-months since the last time an artist received a daily deviation. (This was an overwhelmingly popular suggestion from the community and I agree, it's a good one!)
Daily deviation selectors may only select one daily deviation per day maximum. This has been put in place to focus on Quality vs Quantity.

My personal online psychiatrist is making me narrate this nonsense down on the chip embedded in my tooth in hopes that someday I may be cured of my "incompatibility" with ANNET, or at least possibly reduce the "mild psychosis caused by work-related stress" as she calls it.
I know that it's not going to happen. The problem is something genetic and while those goons in the genetics department would love to get their machines into my brain, I prefer the lack of sleep and headaches to lobotomy.
I seen the reports on their test subjects: "total neural shut-down", "subject resists integration with the net, increasing the signal strength lead to damage to the 85% of the frontal lobe."
Call me old fashioned, but I like my brain the way it is.
I've had that day-dream again. Day-mare is more likely.
A flash-mare? Not sure what to call these, really.
The transmitter towers dotting this bloody city are making my life difficult, but not as difficult as the fact that everyone expects me t

On Saturday, February 18th, Heidi, mattdanna, thesmallwonder, draweverywhere, and I headed up north to San Francisco, California for our Seven Deadly Sins deviantMEET. We were there to celebrate Anarki3000's winning work from the Seven Deadly Sins contest, recreated as a billboard -- and we have to say, it looked amazing!

Unfortunately, Anarki3000 couldn't make it, due to difficulties receiving a passport and visa in time for the trip. As hard as we tried, the Romanian embassy couldn't process his paperwork quickly enough. Though he couldn't be there in person, we celebrated wi

I asked in a previous Journal that every Emoticonist should write a comment there.
You can still do it on this Journal if you haven't commented yet.
I sent notes to all of those who commented there and asked them a couple of questions.
And now I am going to feature all of this deviants and their answers
If you saw that I have featured you and i didn't include all of your answers/or any answers, you could write a Journal and include all of your answers there. ;D
What is your first reaction when you find a new Emoticonist?
I am normally really excited as it is always nice to see a new take on emotes. Everyone has their own spin on them, and new blood means new ideas/shading/etc.
Pick 5 of your most favourite Emoticonists and describe why they are special to you, what ma
