our Soulcalibur V cosplay group at Expomanga 2012OMG, I just can't believe we made it. Yesterday we attended Expomanga 2012 (one of the most important cons in Spain and the bigger one in Madrid) being part of a 13 members SCV cosplay group. It was a dream come true.our Soulcalibur V cosplay group at Expomanga 20122 years ago in Personal More Like This
SC is one of our favourite games of all time and it was awesome we were able to gather 13 fantastic, nice and hard-working cosplayers on this purpose.
We had a fanastic time. It was very hot but we didn't mind. Here you can watch our skit. Enjoy!
We won the 3rd prize!! (Technically we were disqualified because they didn't let perform more than 10 memebers per group. So winning that prize is great and we are vey happy they gave us that recognition).

The Timeless Code of the Eternal OutsiderWhy Drive will be the movie that is remembered in years to come. Film Noir is a genre of “life in the shadows” movies that became popular in America during the uncertain times of World War II. Westerns have remained a shorthand for the American psyche with their sullen outsiders with a personal code of honor bucking the system. Samurai films mirror the lone avenger protagonist, but set against a longing for a lost society of incorruptible values. Now and again a notable contemporary noir or western or samurai film emerges with little fanfare amidst all the commercial cacophony of the louder, bolder, more spectacular action films that rule today’s box office. One such gem of film blending all three genres flashed out of the shadows briefly in 2011. It’s called “Drive” and I think it is the greatest artistic achievement of the past year. The Timeless Code of the Eternal Outsider3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Mary Sue is the new foot binding. If you don't know what foot binding is, go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foot_bindingMary Sue is the new foot binding.1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Why do I draw a comparison between these two? I will explain why.
Foot binding is a classic example of a sexist practice where women are limited, quite literally and in a physical sense, to the point of serious disabilities in order to live up to a certain image of feminine beauty. A notion, if you will, of what females should be. The usage of the Mary Sue term works the same way.
Yes, I know what Gary Stus are, and yes, I know they exist. However, in the case of most male characters, it's far more acceptable to make them strong/intelligent/cunning/resourceful/capable or even more than one of these.
For female characters, this is not so. The second they show themselves to be even slightly above average in any kind of way, no matter how well-balanced they are otherwise, they're termed Mary Sues. It becomes unacceptable to even think, for one second, that female fictional charact

On misunderstandings about cosplayThis is a topic I've been meaning to talk about for quite a while now. I finally got the motivation to when Sarah sorairo-days emailed me to share my thoughts on what cosplay means to me, and what I feel it really means to be a cosplayer despite all the misconceptions about the hobby. It's for this article on Random Nerds, in which Sarah shares her side of it as well.On misunderstandings about cosplay2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Over the years, I've witnessed how cosplayers are constantly looked down upon, which makes people apprehensive towards it. It's such a shame because it's a wonderful and rewarding hobby which brings people together. And in general, I am firmly against making anyone feel bad about doing something they want to do.
I am aware that the concept of cosplay might be too much for some individuals, but our intention definitely isn't to get all up in everyone's faces and say everyone should cosplay or whatever. We just want to promote a

Just until shit cools down on my side of the screen.
It's basically this: my life is having more downs than ups, and I'd rather take a break and try to (yet again) sort things out instead of pushing myself to keep pumping out utter shit to post on here for you guys to cringe at. I'm really sorry. But I just want to get a really good head start on actually writing my goddamn original story before I throw all the story mapping I did for it away.
Plus, I've gotten completely fed up with the quality of "popular" writing on here--mostly fanfiction, as most of you know used to be my forte, considering the fact that I used to write nothing but pointless, godawful Hetalia reader insert fanservice.
It feels like every time I browse through the fanfiction category, all I see are things that make my eyes bleed. Things where people don't know what spellcheck is or how to work a dictionary. Things where the terms "proper grammar" and "correct spacing" are apparently myths. T

I had a wonderful time at ScareLA! Thanks to all who came by! It was great to meet you and put faces to many of you DA creeps. But I was a little disappointed that none of you brought me tacos. I was serious about taking tacos as currency. Oh well.
In other news, everyone knows the Grimm fairytale "Godfather Death" right? Well my incredibly talented friend Autumn Haynes has illustrated the tale in comic format, and she's finally posting it online! It's rad, and you all need to check it out: http://tapastic.com/episode/12995

Now that my animation course has resumed I may as well update you all on the progress of my search for Voice Actors for the rolls of Louis, James, and Santiago for my upcoming film 'Honour Amongst Thieves':
Auditions are now closed, and three "finalists" have been selected as the voices for the characters. Congratulations to:
as Louis Despatis
as James Hunter
as Santiago de la Cruz
All three sent in terrific voice clips with very good quality, and I hadn't expected to find such suitable voices for all three characters, especially on such short notice for such a small production! Thank you all for spreading the word
Why I like AC RP groupsReady for another Liger rant? Why I like AC RP groups2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Everyday I browse the AC OC cathegory in dA and become stunned at how many OCs (unfortunately most of them female) who seem to be created just to be stappled to Ezio's or Connor's nutsacks. :iconkiddingplz: Ladies. C'mon. I'd like to think you're also interested in the skin that hangs from their dicks
I like RP groups because the historical settings leave little space with canon characters to avoid this kind of canon-bending crap. Aw yiss.
I must say, I sort of understand why you would want to pair your OCs with the AC main characters-after all they all have something charming about them >7

Merry Christmas and happy holidays!
Have a wonderful time with your loved ones and I hope Santa left something special for you under the Christmas tree
There is a special dA offer that expires on 26th December. If you give one premium membership as a gift, dA gifts a premium membership of the same value to you.
So I decided to make one of my watchers happy, and they can make their friend happy too.
I decided to give one lucky deviant a 3 month premium membership in the points equivalent.
I won't give you a premium membership directly, 'cos that would mean I would get one from dA myself.
I will give you 636 points (which is a 3 month premium membership value) and when you get it, you can buy your special friend a 3 month premium membership and you will get the same gift from deviantart.
So, that means two premium memberships, for you and your friend (:
But be careful, the offer expires on the 26th o

Those following me for a bit longer might still remember that I was working towards my doctorate during the recent 2-3 years. Well, I'm done! I achieved my Ph.D. with A-grades and was awarded with MAGNA CUM LAUDE (latin for 'with great praise').
That means I'm now officially a doctor (not in medicine, if you might wonder)! How amazing is that?
Thank you everyone who followed me during the years! We somehow made it there together - so please fell hugged! Thank you for your support!!

A type of Flash Fiction, six word stories are (very) short stories with an exact word count: six words. SixWordStories is the place where, alongside quality, quantity really does matter. Though these stories are so brief in length, they can be as profound, if not more, than the prose and poetry you see and read every day, partly because six word stories can tell us so much and yet contain so little.
As a Group, we encourage writers to explore their boundaries with prompts, collaborations and more, but we accept anyone and everyone too! Whether you are a digital artist, photographer, or something else entirely, if you can string six words together into a story, this is the place to be!
It has been a long time since we have had a contest, but we have some

I just wrote this journal to speak out to the cosplay community.
There is an epidemic of hatred going around targeted at some of the beautiful cosplay ladies we've all been seeing.
If you have a minute, please click the link and give it a read, I really hope it helps some people to stop stereotyping.
(I didn't want to double post my journal on DA, hence the link lol)
Have a great day everyone, remember you're all beautiful
Ubisoft Bullshit, Nintendo Wins, Link is a girlNow that the E3 dust has started to settle we can focus on some of the stuff that happened earlier this week in more detail.Ubisoft Bullshit, Nintendo Wins, Link is a girl5 months ago in Personal More Like This
When asked about why there was no female playable assassin in the upcoming Assassin’s Creed game, Ubisoft made the bad decision to try and justify it. They said that a female assassin was planned, but that they didn’t have the resources to implement it because it would’ve require too much extra work and “business is business” after all.
I call bullshit on that. It’s been well known that adding a female character to a game doesn’t increase the budget much (if at all), and many of the same animations and actions can be applied to both male and female characters. Even Jim Sterling addressed this issue (2 years ago) by asking people in the industry how “hard” it is to add female character models and the answer is... not hard at all really:

Self Censorship and Feeling Judged.Im sharing this around because its something I feel extremely strong about. I wont sit idly by and let good artists be strongarmed into feeling jugded, second guessing and self censoring (removing from portfolio) their own work.Self Censorship and Feeling Judged.2 years ago in Personal More Like This
If you feel that way, my message to you is this:
I received some really troubling PM's today. Please don't feel you need to self-censor your work if you enjoy making pinups / sexy girls. Don't remove it from your folios, and never, ever, second guess what you enjoy spending your free time making. Especially don't feel judged because you appear to not be a champion of a cause of any kind. Regardless of how prominant of an artist you are, or where you work in our industry, your free time, is YOURS. Feel free to express who you are, NOT who other people think you should be.
Your eternal friend,
