Bags and Pouches Contest! - 5 HOURS LEFT!!Hey Plushkateers!Bags and Pouches Contest! - 5 HOURS LEFT!!3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I wanted members to make something useful for this contest, that they would like to use again, so all the themes available were to make something useful. Therefore, the theme of this contest is BAGS AND POUCHES!
Now, because this is a plushie club, and plushies are soft toys that are filled with some kind of stuffing, there MUST be something plush on the bag or pouch. So you could make a plush bag, that's stuffed and thick to keep your items safe, or a bag with some kind of plushie sewn on to decorate (just examples). It's up to you
MUST include something plushed.
One entry per participant for this contest!
Wanna enter a plush, that's already in the group gallery? Click me!
Only those that fit the theme will be accepted.
You may use previously made plushies, you don't have to make one especially for this contest, but you may NOT enter with professional/store bought plushies, o

Cool Stitch Alert (and a couple other things)It's the Crocodile stitch. It kinda looks like dragon scales. Check out this deviant's take on it, http://fav.me/d3krkg2Cool Stitch Alert (and a couple other things)3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I had some difficulty finding a free pattern, but this gives you a basic idea of the stitch, http://yarn-muse.blogspot.com/2011/01/crocodile-stitch.html
Here it is on a tea cozy, except that all the 'scales' are lined up instead of staggered. http://crochetroo.blogspot.com/2006/05/scallop-tea-cosy-instructions.html
I hope you give this stitch a try, let me know how it works out!
The next Share A Square deadline is Dec. 15. I thought I'd open a new folder you can submit your squares to as you make them. If you don't know about this great charity crochet project, you can read about it here, http://thiseclecticlife.com/share-a-square-2010-faq/

“Things that I love about…”- painting a dollI love to put different hair locks to a doll face so much during the process of painting it it allows me to look at the conceived doll from a different angle and to "polish" the details of her image, and it captivates me so much that I can spend much time at this activity!“Things that I love about…”- painting a doll3 years ago in Art Features More Like This
For the beginning an enigma image: let your imagination fly!
Fantasize a bit, what this new Dea Vivente is going to look like? Probably, she will stay like this, but maybe you will not recognize her when she is a heroine of new photographs.
Right now I'll show you the results of high firing the doll's parts put together. The new porcelain that the girls are cast from is beautiful flesh toned, shining a bit and even shimmering. I'm glad that Dea Vivente are going to become even better.
I like the look of fired porcelain this is yet the "blank canvas" meant for picturing a painting.
And now some words about painting.
In doll sphere, toning the parts of body is called "blushing", and this is

Initial Release of the Motion Book ToolIn April of last year, we announced a partnership between deviantART and Madefire, bringing Madefire's signature Motion Books to deviantART and introducing a new form of storytelling to the world's largest art community.Initial Release of the Motion Book Tool1 year ago in DeviantArt Announcements More Like This
We also announced that Madefire's professional-grade Motion Book Tool would be brought to deviantART—giving deviants the opportunity to turn imagination into a visual, auditory, and literary masterpiece, and showcase their art alongside some of the industry’s greatest creators.
After months of development and testing, we are excited to announce that the gradual release of the Motion Book Tool has begun, and you're (very likely) among the first to gain access. Having access to the Tool means you can create dynamic Motion Books just like the pros, and publish them directly from your deviantART account!

Hello everyone! Unfortunately, there are no new submissions this week. Manga Supplies: where to find them. We've made a few posts about small-batch printing and how to go about it, and that can be an important part of making doujinshi for those who do want to go to conventions and sell their work. It's occurred to me, however, that we haven't actually talked about the process of making manga and doujinshi. This morning as I was inking some doujinshi pages of my own, it came to my attention that I was very low on art supplies. There is one website I get almost all of my supplies from, but I decided to look around to see if I couldn't find more variety or competitive prices.Manga Supplies: where to find them.3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I'll try to make several posts about what kind of supplies I use for making manga, but right now, I want to talk about where I get them. If you have any other suggestions, let me know. I'm really interested in hearing about companies in countries other than the US. I want this to be helpful for everyone! Like I said, I've been ordering from one store consistently for the past ten years.
That store is

Luke 23:34:iconstrawberryr: here, with another short journal with a message for all of you.Luke 23:342 years ago in Personal More Like This
Luke 23:34 is a verse I recently thought of that came into play in my life recently.
I discovered the truth of an event that took place in my past, where boys broke into my home and broke irreplaceable family possessions, and yet...
when I was sitting there, sobbing, I didn't wish them to die, I didn't wish they'd be sent to jail forever and killed, I didn't want them to suffer.
I asked God to forgive them.
Luke 23:34 reads, "Jesus said, 'Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.'"
We need to keep in mind that holding grudges against people is not a Christian thing to do. We need to live our lives better, in ways that would make our lives and the lives around us happier and better overall. Jesus preached forgiveness, and even forgave the thieves next to him as he stood, dying on the cross.
Let's all remember to be forgiving as October comes around, and to not feel like the world or t

BusyHurry, hurry, hurry.Busy3 years ago in Personal More Like This
This is my life nowdays. Busy all the time. When I'm not, I just need to veg out. Because of the way this city and it's suburbs are layed out and the way the bus system works, it takes hours just to go to one store, shop and get home. Nothing is centralized, except the bus station. It's frustrating and fun. It does mean I have to go somewhere nearly every day. I do love to explore. The bus drivers are great and everyone who rides the bus has been friendly. I'm learning my way around.
There was some excitement this last week. Someone burned something that set off the fire alarm around 9:30PM, Thursday. Tulip and I had just settled in for the night, when the loudspeaker came on and said to evacuate the building. Soooo, I grabbed my slippers, robe and Tulips' leash and off down the stairwell we went. What fun we
