Four thousand words.
All prompts are live
Here's what's gonna happen. I will list four prompts, one for each week of this month. Once a new week starts, the prompt for that week will be posted. Since I've been rather word-count heavy lately, we're taking it back to Flash Fiction. Because the prompts are going to be fairly simple compared to the past, I will be attaching a difficulty to each one, mostly to help you avoid leaping toward to most obvious initial ideas. Read on...
MAKE SURE YOU FAVE THIS JOURNAL AND WATCH FOR THE WEEKLY UPDATES!
April 3-8: A character does not want to go home.
Difficulty -- there's no abuse waiting for them when they get there.
April 9-15: Something they believed in their whole life has been a lie.
Difficulty -- no religion allowed.

'Cause he want to spent time with her?
'Cause she is a powerful Jedi in his eyes?
'Cause he ... love her?
They shot a poisoned arrow on her. She still looked at him.
She opend her mouth.
'Will she tell me, that she love me, too? No. She is a Jedi. They are forbidden to love.' He thought.
She wanted to say something, but she could not speak.
He saw her eyes closing.
"No" he whispered. "It can't end like this."
She stammered something together.
"I...I..."she couldn't end her sentences.
Her breathing was slow, until it completely exposed. He rested his forehead on hers.
"I love you, Ahsoka." He whispered. "I always have."
A tear rolled down his cheek and dripped onto the cheek of Ahsoka.

So consider the following five elements:
1. an Elvis sighting
2. a Picasso
5. two dollars
Your mission, should you choose to accept it:
Write 2500+ words about a bucket list adventure that does not end the way the main character imagined while working ALL FIVE of the above elements into the story. They don't have to be in order. Think outside the box, get the ideas first before you start writing. Surprise me with how you choose to use them. You found chopsticks WHERE?!? omg
What's a bucket list? A list of things you want to do before you die/"kick the bucket".
1. the location must be in a small town
2. must be in 1st person POV
3. the main char
Is the United States a Christian nation? It's July 4th and I felt I had to do something special for today. I was thinking to do artwork for about a month before, but wasn't sure how to present it properly. One drawing or several drawings. Maybe a collage. Then I thought a journal entry would be more effective. They seem to get more views anyways. Is the United States a Christian nation?8 months ago in Personal More Like This
As I read through U.S. history and it's culture and understand them the past few years, and have been going to Church, I have questioned the U.S. being a Christian nation like most Christians seem to think. That it was founded as one though the founding fathers and that they were Christians, though I have read from some people that most were really Deists. That Thomas Paine didn't approve of Christians and that Thomas Jefferson choose to remove sections of his Bible that told of Jesus divinity. And then there's the Treaty of Tripoli, which has the quote:
"The government of the United States is in no sense founded on the Christian religion." George Washington.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)9 months ago in Personal More Like This
There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.
Anyone can find a notebook. If there isn't alread
Why It Sucks To Be a Cosplayer on HalloweenArt By :iconraggedy-annedroid:Why It Sucks To Be a Cosplayer on Halloween1 year ago in Personal More Like This
So it is Halloween. I am a cosplayer. Here it is, the greatest of all dress up holidays! And I am always disappointed. Here are the top 5 reasons it sucks to be a cosplayer at Halloween.
1) Friends (including friends of friends) come out of nowhere to ask for costumes. They just ask for a little help. On their giant full body armor masterpiece. The week before Halloween. Because you know, you make costumes and it's easy for you. And the price? Well, it's "for a friend" price. Which is always "free" or "I'll pay you $20 never" which boils down to "get you a shot of Jack sometime." Sadface.
2) Costumes in my closet everywhere, but none for Halloween. Yes, I have over 60 costumes. No, none of them will ever be recognized at a Halloween party. One year I dressed as Pris from Blade Runner out on the town, which I thought would b
Jim HensonI would like to make my feelings about the Muppets well-known. Sure it's easy to see that I love them like crazy and are ecstatic that they are making a comeback with this new movie that was released this past November (which I loved ), but I really want to speak my mind about them.Jim Henson2 years ago in Personal More Like This
In 1955, Jim Henson created a short called Sam and Friends. This would be the start of what would become Sesame Street, The Muppet Show, and Fraggle Rock. The characters he created were something special and not just pieces of felt that could talk. The intricacy in creating these Muppets not only with their looks but their personalities and humanity really made them feel real to everyone.
Jim, like Walt Disney, wanted to change what he could do with his characters. He was able to make Kermit ride a bicycle, create a dragon that actually breathed fire, and creating costumes for well-known characters (as well as his own) that would look lovable (and not creepy).
For several decades, Jim Henson's work was we

"Without empathy your characters can have no depth." ( WmCutterBlack )
Things usually happen for a reason, rarely arbitrarily.
Likewise, as with real life, fiction requires actions, reactions; a realistic relationship between cause and effect, choices and consequences.
A single question can change everything, so ask them often.

Completely and entirely amazing.
Every day I wake up and look out my window, to see my sprawling neighborhood, a jumble of painted, two-story houses underneath a photoshopped sky. Later every day I ride through my neighborhood on my way to somewhere, whether far away or just down the street, and never once do I think about the people that live in those houses.
I mean, I've seen them out, washing their cars, playing in the sprinklers, but never once do I actually consider that these people have lives, that they're all different. They've lost people and made new friends, cheated while playing cards and have favorite Disney movies. They are all unique, all have their own stories, but I'll never know them.
I'll never hear about what they did when their hamster died, how they felt when they won a carnival game. I'll never even learn their names.
The Earth is a place for lonely people all living together.
Common Arguments regarding Ex-Atheists --Debunked. 1. There is no such thing as an "ex-atheist".Common Arguments regarding Ex-Atheists --Debunked.1 year ago in Personal More Like This
An ex-atheist is an individual who has abandoned the atheistic view of the "absence of belief" in a deity. I am one of them.
2. Ex-atheists were never atheist to begin with.
This is false. Atheism has no ideology or guideline in terms of who is a "true" atheist and who isn't. The closest thing to a "guideline" in terms of anti-religion is regarding "Dawkins Scale" representing the various levels of atheism depending on one's confidence level. But even then, there are flaws in the chart that go against reality terms of theism. To say that another individual was never an atheist before coming to religion after they proclaimed to be so is unruly in itself and only encourages that atheism is more like a religion rather than a freedom of religion. This is said because Christianity and other religions do have a guideline determining how true followers will handle doubt in face of a belief system or the
Urgent help neededHi, this is Mark, Phil Jackson's brother.Urgent help needed1 year ago in Personal More Like This
As some of you in the UK will have heard on the news these past two days, Phil has gone missing. No one has seen him since Wednesday last week and we are all extremely concerned for his wellbeing as he has never missed a family gathering, such as that over Easter.
More distressing is that the office complex he works out of was broken into on the evening of Wednesday 27th March, and there is a very real worry that those responsible may be involved in Phil's disappearance.
The police are of the mind that all of this may have something to do with Phil's online work, and that a cartoon or comic may have been motive for an unbalanced party to act against him.
CCTV in Phil's office captured a handful of images as the intruders entered from the service access: http://www.collectedcurios.com/CCVT_001.jpg http://www.collectedcurios.com/CCVT_002.jpg http://www.collectedcurios.com/CCVT_003.jpg

WRITERS: You can Self-Publish HERE!First, read through ALL of this journal as it explains everything you need to know about the Premium Content Platform:WRITERS: You can Self-Publish HERE!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Basically, dA has given authors a way to self-publish via e-commerce. If you're tired of going through vanity presses or the amazon shop, now you can sell your work directly from your dA account. And I don't think you'll need to be a paid member to do it once the beta testing session is over. While this still doesn't allow you to sell paper versions from dA, it does open up a huge market to e-book and e-zine creators.
The article explains the process fully, but basically you'll upload a preview/sample of your work to dA as a deviation in sta.sh. During the submission process, you'll have the opportunity to sell a downloadable version of the whole file, which means that you can sell e-books, single poems, even lit templates. Transactions happen via points, but any points accumulated through sales can be transferred into cash via paypal or paper check.
What Is Blackbox And Why Should I Get It?After taking a look at the screenshots displayed either in my gallery or in :iconblackboxdesktop: 's galleries, a lot of Deviants are asking me what is Blackbox and how (and why) should they use it. And it's a good thing they show interest, because after a period of hibernation, due to many factors (mostly developers dropping out) Blackbox is back with a vengeance. What Is Blackbox And Why Should I Get It?2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Well, Blackbox is a shell for Windows or a window manager for Linux, the styles (themes) being interchangeable between the two platforms, something unique in computing. In this essay I will only talk about the Windows flavor, since it's much more flexible than its Linux counterpart.
What is a shell? Well, it's the dressing over a cake, the clothing over a body, the greenery covering a bush. Every operating system has a shell. The Windows' native shell is Explorer, which is not only a file browser, like most of you may think. Delete Explorer and Windows crash. It's a fine shell, especially in the case of Windows 7, but it's h

Honestly didn't see that one coming, but I am happy nonetheless. While the first game wasn't very remarkable, I just love the art style and the stark contrast the game presents compared to every other post-apocalyptic-near-future-world that exists. Chock me up to interested.
Didn't see this one coming either. Quite surprised, but personally don't care. I've never really paid attention to fighting games much, yes even Super Smash Bros. I have a feeling this will be one of those games that we think will be amazing, but the newest generation of kids won't understand why they should care (kinda like DuckTales).
Sidenote: Quite disappointed with the way they handled the demonstration by bringing out a woman to play multiplayer with and "destroying" her while simultaneously saying shit like "just give up... it will be over soon." Scripted or not, that scene was appalling.
Minecraft on Xbox One
I'm... actually quite disappointed by this as

Remember getting your art exposed is an important role in selling your art. There are many ways and sites for your to not only show off your art but sell as well.
Try some online store:
These are free to list
Yardsellr: http://yardsellr.com/ Easy to list and sell. The blocks are kinda annoying but its gives you a etsy and ebay importer and it has an exporter for styl.ly and D&K. You can also link your email and facebook page, make tweets, and pins. plus you get bonus money to spend on the site
These cost some money to list and possble other fees;
