Today I had a special little trip with my friend Kajula: in my city, quite close to my home, there is the biggest habitat of Pulsatilla grandis in whole Europe. Pulsatilla grandis is a wonderful spring flower, which is somehow fluffy, mysterious and also very poisonous. This location is very well-known and people always visit it in spring, admiring some 55 000 of flowers which grow very close to normal city buildings in a very tiny and steppe preserve. I have always missed it and I have never been there. So finally, this year I went there and I was just happy about all the beauty around me. I want to share some shots

Art for someone in your life - call for artists"Would you like to help end violence against women? "Someone in your Life" is looking for artists to help with our crowdfunding campaign!Art for someone in your life - call for artists3 years ago in Personal More Like This
45% of women in the UK experience sexual assault, domestic violence or stalking. That's practically one in every two women subjected to violence simply for being a woman. But numbers are too abstract; too easy to ignore. So here's what I want you to do. Walk into a room, any room, and count the women. Now try to imagine that half of those women in the room with you, half of any arbitrary group of women, will have experienced horrific acts of gender-based violence at some point in their life. Think of the women in your life: your mother, your sister, your partner, your daughter, your best friend. Half of them have or will at some point experience violence because they are women. This not about some abstract 45%, some women "out there". This is about someone in your life.

Tell us a bit about yourself.
Welp, I go by Angie. I'm an aspiring artist, though I don't particularly have any idea what I wanna do with my art. But I do want a career in it and I'm always looking for ways to improve myself. I've also gotten a bit into writing and am currently working on a little story that my and my bf had sitting around, and I finally pushed myself to start on it so I can start developing some of my OCs.
What is it about DeviantArt that attracts you?

Today I post photos of my favourite cats, snow leopards. All were taken in ZOO Jihlava with Canon Powershot S5 IS. I still have some sharp photos of nice moments, which I somehow "saved for better occassion". Ironically, I now do not feel like posting them, because although they are sharp and bright, they do not have SLR quality of shots taken with my SLR camera. There are also some very cute poses of baby snow leopard, so I might still post them later. I will consider it.
Nah, bad mood here.
And thank you for every , of course!

Spirit DayGrowing up, I was one of those annoying kids who was popular, talented at music & art and passed all my exams without studying, teachers pet, etc. I was forever in the local press for winning prizes for playing in various musical events & was lucky enough to win a scholarship to send me to a specialist music school for gifted children on the weekends. In the midst of all of this however, I was going through a particularly nasty time with a group of local kids who taunted me about my family constantly.Spirit Day3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I wasn't brought up with my natural family and didn't find out about this until I was 14. Most of the local kids knew all about this and knew who my "real" Mum was because she went to school with their parents. Sounds like a soap opera, I know -- and sure it was at the time . I don't mean to be flippant about it, it's taken me 26 years to put it into a comfortable perspective. At the time though, it took me on a journey of self harming, eating disorders, risk taking behaviour a
Portraiture - Humans to Animals "A good quality camera will help you produce good results, but in the end it's you who will make a photograph, not the camera."Portraiture - Humans to Animals1 year ago in Art Features More Like This
Portraiture is no exception to the above musings, it's less about the right lighting and expensive equipment and much more about the subject you are photographing and how you interact with them. People photography is becoming more and more popular with people booking photographers to expand on their modelling portfolio, capture a newborn in the family or preserve some precious memories of many generations. But what about animals? Pet Photography is also becoming widely popular and there are many hints and tips that apply to capturing humans that you can also use when capturing someone's beloved pet (even your own!)
If you've been asked to shoot outdoors, which is generally preferable for capturing pets, then find out where their favourite location is. It might be a favour

So sorry for my long absence, I'm still alive and quite good, working hard and keeping to take photos when I have enough time.
I've not updated my journal for a long time, and today I wanna show you some pics of mine shot in Shimabara Hina Dolls Fes and in my house.
Shimabara is located in the east of Nagasaki Pref, and it's a very beautiful city.
The canal made by spring water around the city, and Shimabara castle, Fugen-dake http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Unzen etc are very famous in Japan.
As usual, by clicking each pics you can see large sized pics

HeLp deviantArtHello there, we want to bring to your attention a serious problem that troubles Our Community (deviantArt) for a long time: ART THEFT. Among the loving members of dA there are people that disregard our work and steal our art and we, as a Group, encountered this problem several times before deciding to write this blog. We need you to take attitude and fight against these people because we need to protect our friends, our community and ourselves! If you know any deviant that is stealing other's works, leave a comment here or on lintu47's journal with its name and if possible, the stolen work with a link back to the original one, so we could expose them and let the world know what kind of people they are.
We will give you a list of known Art Thieves:

Astrophotography- Some Of Your Questions AnsweredI have got to a point on this site that I am literally being inundated with questions about how I do some of my photos. I simply do not have time to answer them all in full individually anymore. It is seriously restricting the free time that I have to pursue this hobby and take those pictures that have become so popular (both on here and elsewhere). So for my well being and hopefully to the benefit of those who ask me so many questions, I am doing this write up.Astrophotography- Some Of Your Questions Answered3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Before I get into some questions though, I want to make a few things clear. I have spent a lot of time and money on trying to learn as much as I can to better myself with this style of photography. I love all forms of astrophotography and I really think I have found my niche. I hope to one day soon start making back a bit of that money I have spent. So I am not going to just reveal everything I have worked so hard to learn. What I am going t

Dealing with Copyright InfringementEver since I started contributing stock and admiring the beautiful artworks submitted on this site, copyright infringement has always been a hot issue. Some topics & discussions are better left to run their course and fade away, but I think repetition should be encouraged when it comes to copyright infringement. For every person who learns about the importance of intellectual property, there are still many others who remain ignorant or just don't care.Dealing with Copyright Infringement3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I can sympathize somewhat with the well-intentioned person who simply didn't know any better, although it's still no excuse to steal images. Thing is, they didn't know they were stealing, so it makes it easier for me to forgive as long as they are receptive, take my concerns seriously and learn a life lesson to never infringe on copyrights again.
There are however more shady characters who know full well they are stealing images, but just don't care. And even when you confront them about it, they will tell you to go to hell because the s
