This costume has been on my 'to do' list for over 6 years. I've always loved this version of Psylocke's costume, I lovingly refer to it as the gypsy butterfly. For those who don't know this is Betsy's original costume from when she first takes the name Psylocke and joins the X-men in the 80's.

Since Psylocke’s telepathic signature is the butterfly just had to make a mask.

Costume Construction:

The bodysuit is made from a custom pattern drafted by me. The costume is made from a pink four way stretch spandex and lined with a white spandex. The cut out sections on the waist are inset with a skin tone mesh. The sleeves and leg detail are made from a dark pink chiffon. The cuffs and rectangle appliqués are made from a dark pink suede. The appliqués are satin stitched in place. The wig is cut and styles by me.

Kevin and I went to shoot with the Cherry blossoms and ended up catching a beautiful pink sunset at the end of our shoot, we obviously had to make use of it!

This is the Great Cosplayer :icongillykins:
The picture is from the Wizard world Toronto Comic con.
I saw her pic on a friends Facebook and immediately fell in love with it. Then I found some more. This pic really captured the essence of British Psylocke for me.

Sexy, Feminine, stylish, and a very powerful Telepath, who should not be underestimated.
I edited the belt thing, near the navel, and added the Psionic Butterfly effect. So although Minimal adjustments, It makes the picture stand out.

This ladies and gentlemen is where Mindseye originated. This version of Psylocke right here. If I had never been introduced to her in Uncanny X-men 213 and then went back and found the Captain Britain series, I think I would've missed out on something great. Mindseye definitely would not have existed, nor any of my other creations outside of Transformers lol.

I'm also happy that Other female cosplayers are looking into Doing this version of Psylocke now also.

Costume Construction:

The bodysuit is made entirely using swimwear fabrics and is ready to wear in the water when/if I want. The bodysuit is made using a mystery swimwear fabric I found that has a slight shine to it, the suit is fully lined in swim liner. I inset Carol's symbol using metallic gold spandex. The red sash is made using polyester lining fabric, I wanted to sash to be light and catch the wind.
I found a great leather look spandex that I'm in love with (the stretch is FANTASTIC) I use it to make the gloves and boots. The boots are sewn into a pair of dance tights to stop them from riding down as well as creating a seamless appearance. My mask is made using craft foam heat formed to my face then painted with black nailpolish.

“I am what was, what is, what will be — the black angel, Chaos-Bringer! I AM POWER!”

I was asked promo model for Heroes-In-Tights again this year, which I happy accepted. I was very excited when I was told I would be wearing Dark Phoenix. I love angry and overpowered characters!
