Why I crossplayIt's the male to female crossplays that usually get stranger looks from the crowd. I understand why and I'm actually fine with it.Why I crossplay2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I've been asked quite a lot in my years of cosplaying why I like to dress up as a girl at times. I was never able to give a definite answer back then. I suppose it was because I wasn't aware of why I did such a thing.
One reason would be that sometimes, I really just like the character's design. It's a hobby of mine to create things, and being able to materialize something I love makes me happy.
However now I believe I found the core reason of why I do it. Lately I've been delving deeper into doing more complicated costumes such as Capt. Jack Sparrow. In doing those, I realised that it's all about the transformation. Being a costume enthusiast ever since I was little, I've always found a certain joy in being able to turn myself into all sorts of characters. This carried over into my adulthood and I wanted to challenge myself even more.
There's so much prepa
EMPOWERED cosplay, now with painted-on latex! At the Toronto Comic Arts Festival last weekend, ace photographer (and karaoke-er*) Paul Hillier was kind enough to drop off some prints of a seriously badass Empowered cosplay shoot he had arranged. He took the concept of Emp cosplay to a whole 'nother level, via an exciting new frontier in costuming: painted-on latex! Not only is this arguably the ideal cosplay medium to approximate Emp's unearthly supersuit, it's definitely the best medium to depict the tearing of the suit's membrane (as seen in a photo emulating an Empowered cover, complete with logo).EMPOWERED cosplay, now with painted-on latex!3 years ago in Personal More Like This

I’m certain there are people who dislike me. Some I come to know through whisperings because I have eyes everyyyyywheeeeere.
However, I don’t feel the need to acknowledge them or do anything about it unless they are causing any real harm, especially to people I care about.
There is a popular quote that I like referencing for this topic, which gets the message across in a charming way:
“You can be a juicy, ripe peach and there’s still going to be someone who doesn’t like peaches, so you can either submit to someone’s criticism of you, or you can get on with the business of being your own amazing self who attracts other like-minded people that appreciat
Obsolete InkingLately I've been doing work for DC Direct--the wing of DC in charge of statues, toys, etc. It's been a nice break from PRJ. The money is good, and it hasn't been soulless like I imagined. Corporate gigs can go either way--sometimes they want you to do exactly what "they" want, other times they want you to do your thing unencumbered. Luckily this was the latter.Obsolete Inking4 years ago in Personal More Like This
The rates for toy designs are broken down into three parts: you get paid for the sketches, the final pencils and the inks. For this gig, the inking rate was higher than my normal inking rate. It felt good, but then I realized that 25% of my fee was for inks. And it raised an unsettled concern that's been on my mind.
How long will inkers be needed?
In the old days they needed inkers because computers weren't yet being used in print. I forget the name of the machine that preceded the scanner (process cameras?), but it was low-tech enough that i

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with us!March 17th is traditionally known as St. Patrick's Day, a time to celebrate the Irish, feast, and enjoy all things green. It commemorates Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. Among numerous achievements, St. Patrick banished all snakes from Ireland, at least according to legend. Today, there are parades around the world to celebrate the day. And for many, St. Patrick's Day is a reminder that spring is on its way!Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with us!3 years ago in DeviantArt Announcements More Like This
But, of course, there's more to Irish culture than green, clovers, and good luck. One of the many interesting traditions of the Irish culture involves the Blarney Stone, found at Blarney Castle outside of Cork. Visitors come from all over the world to participate in the castle's famous
Tired of this shit. [UPDATE and stuff][UPDATE]YOU DID IT BROS !Tired of this shit. [UPDATE and stuff]2 years ago in Personal More Like This
The person got her account deleted, if I can see... We can't find her profile anymore... So.
Yeah, you definitively did it. I'm proud of you bros, and I'm happy I have many bros I could relay on. Really, thank you.
I couldn't do this by myself... Even if I wanted to. Freakin' FB with updates, it drives me crazy.
So, again, thank you.
I hope this girl understood how wrong were the stuff she was doing. I sincerely hope that she'll realize it and then grow up. [/UPDATE]
The other thing that's making me sad is that :iconMister-Chair: won't be active anymore. I knew it, but yeah, that's for good now. And little by little, I feel it's coming right for me too. It lasts for months. Being less and less active. I'm sorry for this. I'm doing all I can, but soon I can feel that I will follow my BRO. Seems like our role is done here. Like... Time to rest now. Let the good memories behind in a safe place before everything is destroyed.
But... It's not the end yet. Not yet.

Dark humorOK, it's recently come to my attention that Pewdie's videos can offend some people. One of the most notable examples is the dark humor he uses. More specifically, the "rape jokes."Dark humor3 years ago in Personal More Like This
If you don't know what I mean, Pewdie used to use the word rape fairly often in his videos and he would use it in a joking manner. Now, I will admit that this did kinda offend me a little when I first started watching him. But I was able to look past that and enjoy Pewdie for who he was: a guy trying to have fun and be funny. And I know that rape isn't funny and that it's a terrible and traumatic event that will likely have long lasting effects on the victim, be they male or female. If you yourself have ever been raped, my heart goes out to you.
A common misconception is that dark humor seems to glorify or make light of tragedy. It doesn't. Dark humor takes a morbid or taboo subject matter and helps us transcend it and show us its absurdity. Dark humor, to me, is probably the best kind of humor. It provides

I found someone that made my life colorful again. Someone that makes me want to live my life happily. We are a couple for two months now, but it already feels like years when we talk to each other. It's like I have found a soulmate. A person I can always relate to and a person always being there for me. With him, I feel like a princess, and like a little star.
I love you, Sascha.

I get many questions from people who want to use my photos somehow – I state they need my permission, but I am too busy to answer their notes and comments at the same time. Very stupid situation that is in fact a trap for all those who are polite and really ask for permission
That’s why I decided to create some general rules.
And to make it user friendly, I chose the form of questions and answers.
I hope they fit any situation you might think about, but if you get any idea, please, do not hesitate to comment!
Those rules will be also on the main page of my account and I will link to them through every of my new deviations
RULES FOR USING MY WORK
The main rule is: ALWAYS GIVE CREDIT.
Even if I do not like what people did with my work, I will always treat them nicely when they at least tried to somehow credit me. On the contrary, I will always hunt down pe

FFXV: Luna or Stella? or ahdgbcjns whatever!sourceFFXV: Luna or Stella? or ahdgbcjns whatever!10 months ago in Personal More Like This
Luna (ルーナ, Rūna?) is a character from Final Fantasy XV first appearing in the Tokyo Game Show 2014 Trailer. In the aforementioned trailer glimmering motes surround her, likely alluding to the nature of souls. The only thing known so far is that Luna resides in Altissia, potentially taking refuge there, as Ignis mentions, "I trust she's well".
Luna is a blonde woman with purple-blue eyes and a white dress embossed with flower patterns and embellished with silver studs. She wears a necklace with a pendant of a star inside a crescent moon. She resembles Stella Nox Fleuret in appearance, the main differences being Luna's round face and button nose.

Do YOU want to sell prints? One mistake you make.Hi people!Do YOU want to sell prints? One mistake you make.4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Today it is a short journal without photos, sorry.
I would like to give you one important advice, so I hope it can be still useful
I see many people try to sell prints here. And they are often sad they have not sold anything yet.
But at the same time I see they do the same mistake. So:
HOW PEOPLE TRY TO SELL THEIR WORK AS A PRINT?
1. you took a photo (drew a picture). It is nice, so you want to post it as a deviation.
2. you edit it. Making it sharper, more colourful, adding contrast, CHANGING a size to some 850x600px, for example.
3. you post it as a deviation.
4. you look at your deviation and think "hm, it looks pretty cool! Maybe somebody can buy it. I will allow it as a print."
5. you click at "submit as a print" and in "print submission" option you just scroll down and click at "SUBMIT AS A PRINT".
6. now deviation in your gallery has that cool "buy this print" green button and you are excited about somebody buying it.
7. you are disappointed that nobody bought it.

I'm really grateful for this opportunity, and I'll do my best to make all of our fans proud.
Wish me luck!
Well I'm back home in Massachusetts now after a long day of travel. Bruce and I got to meet with 2 people from CN, they were both really awesome and very nice, even the room we met in was chic and cool, definitely not the formal boardroom setting I was expecting.
Honestly I'm not sure if I did a good job presenting the series or not. I think they were intrigued by the action/comedy blend of the series, and liked the school setting as it's relatable to viewers. They definitely seemed interested in the fact that this series has more female fans than male fans, and that we've achieved this level of succ
