Similar Deviations
Oh lawdeh, one of those typical "music themed" pieces :o

Yet another old WIP I've picked up recently to finish. This dates back all the way to last Summer, so that should explain why the artwork looks so dated compared to my recent deviations. I had a MAJOR artblock and I had no will or motivation to draw a thing and it was infuriating. All of that changed when I stumbled across this song from an SF3:Third Strike tutorial video on YouTube:

[link]

Ever since then, this beat has been stuck in my head and it motivated me to finally draw something! So I whipped out my tablet, opened up Photoshop, then proceeded to draw my butt off. Alas, I stopped immediately after making the lineart and dropped the project for an entire year at the mercy of college studies and all around more interesting projects I had in mind at the time.

This is basically a simple illustration of all 3 of the main characters from my non-existent martial arts story: Ghost *coughmecough*, Jamal, and Darrell. I'm extremely satisfied at how well this turned out even though the background may look a little blegh :D It seems Darrell's been long overdue for a design upgrade, so I gotta keep in mind to work on that :ninja:

So if you'll excuse me, I'll head back into my corner and head bop to some good old fashioned hip hop beats instead of the crap that festers my ears in this post-2000 generation. Because this is how we chill from '93 'till :toocool:

I was fiddling around with my computer art class's Intuos2 tablet and this came to mind..... And that's the whole story! I swear, I do way too many unlikely crossovers :D

Basically Taokaka from BlazBlue trying to pounce on Garcia Hotspur and Johnson from Suda 51's latest game, Shadows of the Damned, in hopes of acquiring the fabled Tuna :icontailswtfplz: You gotta admit, she'd be one scary enemy to fight in SotD. Trying to keep up with her speed is, shall we say... Hellish :B

As for SotD, I've played it for days on end and it has to be one of the best adventure games I've played in a long while. When you put Suda 51 and Shinji Mikami together, along with fantistic musical scores by Silent Hill's very own Akira Yamaoka, that result is to be expected/ It's like they took Resident Evil 4 and made it cool  I could write an entire review about how awesome this game is if I had the time and patience to do so. The best thing about the game is that is has a great sense of humor, which keeps my attention toward the game and dives me deeper into the grindhouse experience even further. Though it's sad for me to say that what ruins the experience for some other players is that about 60% of the humor in the game is often made up of penis jokes. But I'm tolerable So long as it's well executed, which it is :lmao:

So yeah, definitely check out the game if any of you guys get the chance. Believe me, you will NOT regret the decision :D .....So long as you can handle a few sex jokes here and there :ninja:

Gameplay footage of the first stage if you're interested

Sorry for the lazy background! It was the most I could come up with after slaving weeks over a hot laptop trying to make this before September hit :noes:

Basically a random illustration from the top of my head of the four characters I'll most certainly be using in the upcoming Dead or Alive 5; Jann Lee, Hitomi, Eliot, and Akira Yuki from Virtua Fighter. At the moment I am MEGA-HYPED for this game to come out and have been itching to play this ever since I saw the very first footage of the Alpha build. We've been waiting 7 long years for a new DoA game and this is shaping up to be the very best in the series.

When Akira was announced out of nowhere, I was really excited to see his inclusion into the game, and I've been playing Final Showdown day in and day out training to use him in DoA5. Not to sound seriously competitive or anything, but I can't wait to body online with him simply for the fact that Akira IS NOT BORING and I'm tired of him being bashed on by Ryu fanboys. Anyone, and I mean ANYONE, can put on a dogi and be compared to Ryu/Ken/Dan/Akuma/Sean/etc. Akira's an entirely different character, guys, and is hardly anything like Ryu. Accept it~ :B

So yeah, that's all. And look forward to getting DoA5 September 25th. I'm certainly getting it Day 1 for the PS3, so I'd be looking forward to playing anyone willing to use me as a punching bag :P

Oh, and a final note. Go out and buy Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown. One of the most fantastic fighting games to come out this year. TTT2 and DoA5 will eat up all my time, but I'm definitely coming back to this when I'm done with them :D

I have to say, the original comic was far more offensive before I changed it...

...anyways, On the Grind will be a part of Hound Comics Next Week--I will keep you all updated!

Commission done for my bro :iconquetzalcoatl2k: and MAAAAAAN was it a ton of fun to do :iconicameplz:

Fans of MegaMan X Command Mission should recognize her as the one and only ninja Marino. Which reminds me that I should play this game whenever I get the chance (or when the thought crosses my mind). Hope you guys like it. I tried something a little different with my inking. I like how it came out, but maybe I should keep working at it since it came out a little messy XD

So it's been a REALLY long time coming, but it's finally here. The obligatory 10,000 Page view illustration

Some of you long time watchers are probably wondering where in the world Jamal is. You know, the break dancing, Capoeira practitioner, graffiti artist, and black stereotype? Well there he is folks, the guy with the dreadlocks and aerosol paint can. I've decided to TURN HIM INTO A HUMAN! STUNNING, RIGHT? :wow:

If you can guess, the blue wolf right above him is sort of his Stand. His name is Taikuro and he has the ability to manipulate water/ice. He's been around for a long time, but I very rarely drew him, nor gave him development time. I'll keep him around until I actually come up with something :ninja:

Over the few weeks I've had my tablet, I have improved quite vastly and thought up this new coloring technique I've used in this piece. I'd say it's pretty successful and I may stick with this for a while :D Sometimes I forget how fast of a learner I am. I mean, if little kids can go digital and make work such as this, I may as well step up my game as well :toocool:

So sorry for being late and I hope you guys like it! Expect more stuff real soon :D ...Or when I actually get college work out of the way. These new classes are kicking my butt :noes:

OKAY NOW. For a very very long while, and I mean a loooooong while, I've been so scared to upload this. By scared, I mean being really really paranoid some schmuck head would come along and steal it without giving me credit and get popular for it. I mean, this is the first time ever I enabled the annoying watermark function :ninja:

All right, story time. About well over a year ago while I was enrolled in the North County Technical program, I was assigned in my Graphics Design class to simply draw a portrait of celebrity. While everyone else was doing rappers and mainstream actors and whatnot, I decided to take a journey to the past through a time machine and honor one of the biggest influential icons of the anime industry. That person being none other than Osamu Tezuka, the creator of Astro Boy  I was watching the 2001 anime rendition of Astro Boy around the time and it was such an amazing sight to behold. I was instantly hooked :D

I wanted to take the time to honor his memory and the legacy he left behind for anime fans everywhere. So this is for the father of anime himself. May you continue to rest in peace :salute:

It's been quite a long time since I last drew Makoto. And the results are MMMMMMMBAAAWWSSS :toocool:

It's a MUGEN portrait I whipped up for KojiroBADNESS's Makoto he's working on. And from the looks of it, it just might be enough to get me back into MUGEN after all these years  Then again, I said that before back when I found out the friggin Godhand Gene himself being converted to Muggin', but my small 2D fighting engine antics didn't last very long D:

You can check out a vid of his progress here in case anyone's interested :D

The very moment I say this journal: [link] a thought was constantly ringing in my mind urging me that I HAVE to draw this :D

Even after months of clearing everything possible in the game, I'm still massively in love with Asura's Wrath. Everything about the game was perfect for me and left an everlasting impression on me more than most games do, so it's really one of my favorite games of all time at this point :lmao: I had one of the themes from the game playing in my head when I thought of the fight scene against myself, so of course there would be an Asura's Wrath spin on the whole thing :ninja:

I must confess that I really did get a Tumblr not too long ago, where I would be doing a series of "Ask Me's" for myself and the rest of my OC's to give me some interesting scenarios to draw. I already got quite a handful of good questions, so look out for those :D

I'll also upload things I will never ever ever ever EVER upload to deviantART. Just because I'm such a troll like that :meow:

Hope you guys enjoy it. And believe it or not, as Grillz, that really is the kind of person I used to be! I know, right? :U

After a really slow grind, here's a commission done up for one of :iconquetzalcoatl2k:'s bros of Ken Masters. I used to use him a lot in SF3, until I dropped him for Sean (PFFTLAWL). Used him a bit in Vanilla SFIV, but dropped him for Fei Long and Fuerte. Then dropped them both for Makoto in Super. What a chain :U

Should have a second commission from one of his bros coming eventually. As in as soon as I binge through all these school projects x_x
