Ode to The Black Rose'Til the Day...Ode to The Black Rose3 years ago in Concrete Poetry More Like This
Upon windswept shores in luminous day,
in tattered clothes, with fix'ed seaward gaze,
I will wait for the Black Rose.
Here, I shall in twilight and dark tarry-
as the the sea and the earth solemnly marry,
and are endlessly linked in lovers' throes.
For upon that promise of a sea bound journey,
whose infernal voyage would surely burn me,
I embrace the fate I have duly chose.
So if only sandy steps towards the sea I have left,
say that my heart was swept away by amorous theft,
and bourne eternally upon the Black Rose.
