Sandy blond hair fell over the face of a young man aged by things that none should see. Vader was caught. Unable to make even the slightest of moves.
Sith lightning rained down on his child, resigned to his fate.
The inability to take action that had gripped him earlier found release. For a moment he looked at the body- the body, eyes wide open and glazed with death. The light that had illuminated his mechanical heart extinguished, and in a single ruthless motion his light saber found itself burred within his former master.
He did not know if it was the bionic prison that made lifeless flesh seem so light- or if it was his son's small stature, where he had undoubtedly taken after his mother. The corpse in his unfeeling arms might not have even existed.
Through the halls into his private docking bay the evacuating imperials took no notice of their solemn commander. In the ship he arranged him to be mistaken as sleeping, lest not for the lack of breath in his breast.
SW: PersuasionSenator Amidala walked through the sparsely occupied hallways of the Senate Building, head held high and features impassive. To her great relief, no one approached her with afterthought comments or lingering concerns they had regarding the Council meeting that had recently been adjourned. She was virtually absolute in her belief that any reminder of what she would immediately name one of the most infuriating debates she had ever participated in would set her on edge. All Padmé desired was to forget about the frustrating ordeal entirely.SW: Persuasion4 years ago in Romance More Like This
It had begun like any other Senate session, and had finished like most of them as well. In fact, it had been remarkably similar to at least two other she could name off the top of her head in addition to that. Perhaps it was just in her mind. But more likely it was the repetition that bothered her. The fact that their system had fallen into a continuous loop that she could

She screamed and raised him up into the air and began to choke him with her force choke. The moment had finally come! "Yes," Bliz confirmed. "She was about this big..." Bliz held his hands apart about one foot, hugely underestimating the size of the toddler.

"Well..." the second began a little awkwardly. "I'm sorry for your loss, sir, but I don't think we can..."
"She's already gone, sir..." the second said even more awkwardly then the first.

August 31st, 2021. 10:00 PM.
Sleep had rarely been an issue for Damian. He didn't require much and didn't particularly like it anyway. Sleep meant wasted time, wasted efforts. It meant another weakness, another need he had to satisfy before he could get into more important matters, such as the city at his hands. It meant time away from people, time away from the suit, time where he was lying on a mattress, completely vulnerable, with his mouth hanging open and drool dripping down his chin. Like some sort of mindless ape.
There were only a couple of things Damian actually enjoyed about the REM cycles his body forced him to endure. One, they made him forget things. When he was sleeping, it was easy to stop thinking about concerns of the past, present, or future. Second, they introduced him to dreams.
Now, dreams? He looked forward to dreams.
It wasn't like Damian to "look forward" to much of anything. His typical outlook on life was, "If there's a problem,

Maybe it was when I was nine, after I first met him. I had been separated from my mom, and Qui-Gon Jinn, one of the only people who had ever been kind to me, had died, killed by Darth Maul.
Who else was there to turn to?
No one else accepted me. So I turned to him, to my too-young master who tried and tried to be everything that people wanted him to be and hardly ever spared a thought about himself.
When I hugged him, throwing my short arms around his waist and burying my face in his robe, he stroked my hair and reassured me.
I didn't notice that he was crying until I looked up and felt the drops on my face.
I was amazed, frankly. My master, who was the perfect, emotionless Jedi, was crying. My overwhelmed nine-year-old mind managed to have one coherent thought:
Obi-Wan was beautiful.
His sea-green eyes were red-rimmed and puffy, and his nose was all red, but the rest of his face was pale and wet with the salty liquid flo

The Batgirl is sitting on the edge of a rooftop, her legs pulled up underneath her and a book resting in her lap. She looks oddly normal, oddly young, oddly human, considering she's such a creature of the night. She's different, this Batgirl. Her eyes are older, her legs longer, and her hair is shorter, coming down to the first fourth of her back instead of the middle.
Nell doesn't recognize her, and it's only then that it begins to settle in. Things have changed around Gotham City.
The book Batgirl's reading is The Scarlet Letter. It's probably a college project, Nell thinks. Mom used to talk about Nell going to college someday, back when there was enough money for Nell to earn a five-dollar allowance each week. But, it doesn't matter, because Nell learns everything she needs from the library or from Colin. Colin's the one who told her about The Scarlet Letter. He read it once. Didn't really understand it, of course, but he told her what he did

Throughout the galaxy, as directed by the simple order of things, an endless battle of light against dark rages on. This clear-cut battle of nature - used in many an illustration - has always been, and always will be. It cannot be otherwise, because they are opposites and must always battle for control. One may seem to triumph over the other for a time, but domination can never be fully achieved;there will always be some of the other.
Somewhere, near the edge of an immense spiral galaxy, a small, brown planet glowed under the light of a binary sun system. The suns guided the planet in its long journey through space, and baked its surface until the only lifeforms that could survive on the surface were as tough, hardy, and pitiless as the planet itself. The planet was called Gala'shesh by its most ancient inhabitants, but was known as Tatooine on census records - when a census bothered to mention it at all.
The peoples of Tatooine had been in a constant state of up

Under his white stormtrooper helmet, Rex's gaze darted from one soldier to another. They ran down the canyon path. Only a few attempted to use the canyon wall for cover. Most ran along the trail, some so close to the edge they sent pebbles plunging into the canyon depths. Just because the rebel base was supposed to be five klicks ahead didn't mean there wouldn't be some sort of ambush

They were far beyond his skill, or even Kix's, if the medic hadn't deserted years ago. Besides, what good would trying to save her life do when it would lead to her capture and torture? "I'm here." It was all Rex could say.
Ahsoka coughed. "You shouldn't be here, with them." Her gaze landed on Vishi, who crept closer, probably curious about why Rex was holding a rebel's hand instead of finishing her off.
"They're just kids. They need someone to keep them safe," Rex told her, guilt pulsing through him. All his true brothers, Jesse, Kix, and a few others, had deserted years ago while he'd stayed in the Empire, like the terrified boys he'd charged himself with protecting.

Good thing tomorrow was Saturday, and that her dad and stepmom were pretty good about letting her sleep in after baby-sitting.

If she dreamed, she didn't consciously remember it that next morning, or ever.

It was a quiet, soothing encounter with the Goblin King. (Yes, she knew his name because of Hoggle, but it seemed like some interesting-but-unnecessary information. Keep it just-in-case, like the emergency phone numbers whenever she baby-sat.) They simply stroll
