FoxE9BEHOLD, A REAL IE9 THEME FOR FIREFOX: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/foxe9/FoxE91 year ago in Personal More Like This
I know there are a million things that are different between the two browsers but we are not aiming on adding IE9 features or completely rearranging stuff to make it look 100% IE9-ish. We don't have the time to bother with such things. Instead, it is a theme that hopefully satisfies peoples' strange desires to make their Firefox look similar to IE9.

JOURNAL FEATURE! 2Hello fellow membersJOURNAL FEATURE! 21 year ago in Personal More Like This
This week, the categories being featured are "Cities and Arquitecture" and "Scapes and Nature".
This is the Cities and Arquitecture feature, done by :iconamberphotography:
Interior or exterior; architecture is an engineering art! Be it the whole city skyline or those lovely gargoyles on the facade, capturing the beauty of the original design is in itself an art form. The real complexity in architecture comes from its forms; a hundred columns or arched doorways, these things are the same to a building as a smile is to a face. Focus throughout is important, as an architectural design is meant to work as a whole, not just as a single element. I would recommend (almost) always using a tripod to capture the crispness of lines and forms.
I was shocked when I saw these two photos a few inches from one another in our galley. This shows and exquisite example of the differences of ligh

DeviantART announced a month ago that through a new organization, Dadotart we applied to manage a new Top Level Domain (TLD) called “.ART.” We are committed to having the .ART TLD — the Internet addresses that could end in .ART — organized and distributed with the full participation of the global art community.
We need your help!
We need your help to show public support for the Dadotart application. The application process to manage a TLD is long, arduous, and intricate. Help us gather as a true art-centric community. And please spread the word to everyone who loves the arts or is part of the arts because we aim to have .ART be home to everyo

2011 As Seen Through Art2011 was full of emotional events the world around, and our community responded at unprecedented levels. From natural disasters to historical celebrations, entertainment milestones to tearful goodbyes, our community spoke out like no other community can — artistically, creatively, and emotionally. In many ways, last year marked the final chapter of a few eras, opening the door to new beginnings for 2012. Let's take a look...2011 As Seen Through Art1 year ago in Hot Topics More Like This

The argument for the nude in art:
Our visual perception of the human face and then the human body has set the basis since the beginning of
human history for our sense of what is beautiful and what initiates all our seminal ineffable sublime feelings
about the nature of love, life, desire, destiny, eternity, ad infinitum. The curvatures and symmetries of the
human body even lay the geometric basis for the artistic structures of all our art forms, not only for the visual
arts but also for literature and architecture. Given the primacy of the body as the beginning of all that we are
in life, and given the eye as the primary receiver for the collection of all information in our lives, how could
the artistic nude not be a massively represented art form on a global arts forum like deviantART? And besides,

Birth of a New Category or Beginning of the End of Categories?

Just when you thought there couldn’t possibly be another “ism” on the art world horizon, what with the growing accessibility of all
art technique and technology rendering all the “schools of art” equally available and doable and therefore making impossible the dominance
or even existence of any current art “movement” … comes “suggestivism,” the “ism” best summing up what art is in our lives today, defined
more by what it is not, rather than what it is.
