Stuck in the Past - Chapter SixChen and the others turned around as Lucero came charging down the ground staircase. He looked worried and Sparky immediately stepped forward. "What's wrong?" She demanded.Stuck in the Past - Chapter Six2 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
"It's the girl from before - Sarah Grace, I believe she's vanished. None of the maids can seem to find her and Leena's been killed. This was found in her chest." He said sadly and held up Grace's knife, stained with blood. "Leena must've tried to stop Grace from running off."
Angel gasped from behind Riddle and Sparky began to shake her head before she looked up pleadingly. "No, she wouldn't do something like that. She cares about everybody." She said.
Lucero held back his smirk, not knowing that one person saw past his ruse. And that person hung back in the shadows, watching the group with black eyes. Aslansa felt that something was wrong. How could nobody else sense that? Grace had been framed for murder once before. And how could they truly trust Lucero when they barely knew the man? What had gotten into t
Stuck in the Past - Chapter TwoI followed the women of the crew as they trailed after Lucero like lost little ducklings. My emotions were a mess as I tried to figure out whether or not to trust Lucero. Something made me want to, to just let him take care of everything but then the rational side of my brain kicked me in the ass for wanting to let a man I barely knew take care of me.Stuck in the Past - Chapter Two2 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Lucero was taking us north and I soon found that we weren't even in the town anymore, instead heading for a great mansion on top of a fairly tall hill. The entire property was enclosed by a tall, black, iron wrought fence with a massive gate just in front of us. The house itself was an absolute mansion and made of bricks that were the color of fall leaves ranging from crimson red to fiery orange. It was nearly three-stories tall with colonial-style pillars circling the entire wrap-around porch. The roof was pointed in the center like a pyramid with two chimney stacks and a few attic-windows. The entire place was rather foreboding but beau

Has a purpose and has a worth
From birth to grave, from life to death
Until they breathe their very last breath
Their path is laid out before them
Some are destined to help others
To act as parents, sisters and brothers
To bring light into a vast sea of darkness
Working to the bone and never less
Others might be tasked to sit on the sidelines
Waiting and watching for tell-tale signs
Helping without face-to-face interaction
Discerning what help to give from other's actions
Then there are the Angels, the light givers
Their love all-encompassing like a grand river
It is their nature to help all those that seek it
To be there for all and to never ever omit
These Angels themselves have seen Hell
And in their hearts, darkness does dwell
Yet, they take the pain of who comes to them
And never once do they condemn
Sometimes even Angel need a guiding hand
Stuck in the Past - Chapter FourOnce I finally managed to get a hold of myself, I rolled my shoulders and stood out of bed. As I swung my legs out of bed, I smiled when my feet brushed up against a backpack that Aslansa had left by my bed. Leaning down, I opened the bag and found a wonderful set of clothes within. I grinned happily before quickly changing into the outfit he'd brought me. Once I'd finished dressing, I breathed a sigh of relief. Aslansa had brought me a pair of black trousers, my white boots, some underclothes, and a tight black shirt with three-quarter sleeves.Stuck in the Past - Chapter Four2 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
I made my way down the hall and then down the grand staircase until finally stepping into the dining room. It was the real dining room, the one where the others had eaten the night before while Lucero ate with me in the room next door. I shuddered and shook off that memory and made to take a seat but, as I passed the front of the table, Lucero's arm snapped out and drew me closer to him, his hand tight around my elbow. Might be, to some, a bit too cliché
But I know that when I finally find you
You're the only one I'll ever look to
One day, maybe soon, you'll take my hand
And take me on a long walk in the sand
And then we'll go dancing in the rain
Then you'll take me and kiss away my pain
You'll ensure that I have nothing to fear
I will be known to you as honey or dear
Someday, our paths shall run together
With you, there is nothing I cannot weather
They say everybody falls in love someday.
Is it my turn yet?

Your words can lose somebody their dearest friend
Your jokes have taken another young life away
Now the day is bleak and a cruel shade of grey
Know that to obtain your one little power trip
Your victim will feel as if they are being whipped
So the next time you feel the urge to tease or play
Be sure to always remember what happened this day
Your torment stole a family member and friend
And for the family, there will seem to be no end
Stop the bullying before another young life is stolen from us

A day when you are so very numb
That the price isn't too high
And you give up the will to try
God forbid that day should arrive
I want you to be happy and alive

Stuck in the Past - Chapter ElevenI screamed, absolutely unable to hold it in. It simply couldn't be helped, not when Zabel inspired such fear. Not a minute passed before a pair of strong arms gripped my shoulders, shaking me softly. I opened my eyes and sat bolt upright, absolutely terrified. "It's alright Grace, it's just a dream." Silvian said quickly, soothingly as he sat down beside me, brushing a thick lock of hair out of my face. "There's nobody here Grace, calm down." "Come on, you should get dressed." Silvian ushered, standing up and offering his hand. I took it and whimpered in shock when black blobs began to dance in my vision. The room around me suddenly fell away and my eyes closed automatically. When the dizziness finally melted
Stuck in the Past - Chapter FiveLucero watched as Chen gave his speech to his crew and was actually surprised when young Sarah Grace stood and left the room. Only his sensitive hearing could hear her running through the halls to get away and a smile ticked up the corner of his mouth but he pushed it down into a frown, hiding his joy. He turned towards Chen and motioned towards the rest of the crew. "You continue what you have to say and I shall fetch her." He assured and walked calmly from the room, following in the direction of Sarah Grace's footsteps. He knew where she was heading even though she didn't and it didn't take him long to reach his weapon room.Stuck in the Past - Chapter Five2 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This

I wasn't sure what was directing me, but some outside force was telling me to get to the beach, to get there quickly. As I stepped out onto the sand, I jumped when I heard some loud crashes. I took off at a sprint, racing down the beach. When I turned a corner of the island, I found four people in front of me. Salazar and Ice were there, standing near Terran as he struggled to stand up. The last person there was Lucero and, when I took a step forward, his eyes snapped up to mine. I saw his lip curl up into a sneer and he shot towards me

Sarah Grace Saoirse didn’t have time to figure out who called the order, or why. She, like all other souls aboard, immediately hit the deck and grabbed whatever held purchase. A heartbeat later, a seventy-five foot rogue wave rose up on the starboard side, crashing over railing and deck like the great, one-fifty foot long galleon was no more than a bath toy. The ship rocked onto its side and the pirates were left hanging amid sea foam and salty spray.
“Grace, get this ship right-way up!” Captain Riddle shouted, hanging from the wheel.
Swells continued to pummel the ship as Sarah Grace struggled to summon up what powers she possessed. Her eyes flashed sterling silver, like little discs of molten mercury. The wind surged up in hurricane force gusts, whipping beneath the port side of the boat. At the same time, the temperature plummeted. So as the wind fought to catch in the sideways sails, ice formed across the deck, even on the skin an

All It Takes - Chapter FourJust when I thought my day couldn't possibly get any worse, I turned to meet a pair of pale blue eyes that belonged to the person who had grabbed my shoulder Duncan Smith. A sneer played across his lips and I felt the urge to punch him square in the nose. But, I resisted that urge and jerked away from him, trying to continue on my way to my car.All It Takes - Chapter Four2 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Duncan, however, had other plans. He caught my arm and twisted me around, shoving me into the one area of the school that was away from any prying eyes students, faculty and cameras. He pinned me back to the wall, rubbing my bare wrists against the bricks behind me. He shielded my body from any other sort of view and got so close I could feel the heat that rolled off of him in waves. I needed to vomit. The area he'd forced me into smelled strongly of burned marijuana, alcohol and sweat. Throw in some of Duncan's overbearing cologne and it was a miracle I hadn't already tossed my cookies.

Secret of the Soulless - Chapter OneThe Sangue-Padre, a grand galleon built of rich cherry wood, bounced atop the rolling waves as if it was nothing more than a child’s bath toy. Rain pounded against the wood, soaking the sails that had long since been tied back in the wake of the storm. As if affected by the weather, the crew aboard had stuck to their cabins, becoming almost eerily quiet. But one of the pirates in particular, Claire de Luna, was particularly affected. She lay in her cot, slick with sweat, tossing and turning as nightmares plagued her sleeping mind.Secret of the Soulless - Chapter One10 months ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
In her dream, she was running, urged on by something she couldn’t see. She ran through the forest and, though she didn’t recognize where she was, she had the feeling she’d been there before. “Just a little farther… Then I’ll be safe.” She huffed, pushing herself on. Her body ached more and more as she continued to run, her legs burning and her lungs screaming for relief. She found it strange, such exhaustion. S

One morning in particular, just after their breakfast had been brought in and the rat appeared earlier than usual, Kiri pounced and caught the rat, half dragging Grace along after her. Grace, none too happy about being jerked around, snapped angrily. “What the hell do you think you’re doing?”
“Silver needs to eat too.” She responded quietly, lifting the snake from her pouch. His scales, Grace saw, had grown almost dull. He scented the air lazily, his tongue barely flicking out of his mouth. Kiri

Stolen Away - Chapter ThreeSarah Grace groaned softly, her head spinning as she tried to get enough momentum to sit up and figure out what had happened. The Flying Dutchman - Part OneIt was All Hallows Eve, a popular night among the pirates of the Sangue-Padre. The entire ship was decorated with jack-o-lanterns, each carved with silly and scary faces. Each member of the crew had carved a pumpkin and placed them across the deck, providing sixty fantastically shaped pumpkins, some large and some small, but each carefully worked. In addition to the pumpkins, cotton cobwebs hung from the shrouds, each adorned with plastic spiders with beady red eyes. Sheet ghosts and rubber bats were suspended from the masts while toy rats with black eyes were stuffed in random corners and behind barrels. Everybody was getting ready for the party that would be thrown later that night, when everybody dressed up, played games, and even drank. It was a marvelous night for the pirates, and they were all looking forward to it.The Flying Dutchman - Part One9 months ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This

Sarah Grace glanced up with just enough time to see the fore-boom rushing at her before it slammed into her chest. She was thrown back violently and only stopped when she slammed into the ships railing, smacking her head against the hard wood. As she slid to the deck, Grace fought to get air back into her lungs and to control the spinning humble of thoughts in her head.
