Just updated the concept art I made for the 3CH forum in CA. *Hideyoshi
posted a speedpaint tutorial for what he posted in that forum, and it's far more better than the tutorial I made since it's a video capture... And yeah, his technique is a lot faster, easier and the outcome looks better
Check out the tutorial here: [link]
I promise you'll be happy you did
The updated bot looks similar to the last mech I painted... Ah heck, who cares...
I'll do better next time. Anyway, here's the description for the updated 3CH sketch:
At the turn of the century, man had gotten weary and bored with space exploration. The wind had brought into their hearts a new, and far more intimate challenge: the exploration of our very own deep unknown: our ocean.
But the effect of global warming has increased the melting of ice caps in the north, and over 100 feet Road Waves have been appearing unexpectedly thruout the entire planet, mercilessly consuming any ship in it's path. Man had sent hundreds of thousands of debris hurdling out into space... Who would've known that we were doomed to do the same with our ocean? Millions of ships had sunk on the ocean floor that it had become impossible to explore.
This destruction of our ocean is seen by many as man's curse to destroy everything around him. But there are a few who see this as a business opportunity. As the ships sunk, not witholding the might of the powerful Road Waves, it brings down with it precious belongings. Belongings that many people would pay handsomely for if ever recovered. That's what the Hunters of the Deep specialize in.
They have built big, powerful robots that can shove ship remains out of the way. It's got a mapping system that maps out a 3d image of the ocean floor and send the 3d image to the scouts to better help them traverse the dangerous wreckage. It can puncture holes, and lift thousands of pounds of steel, with it's claws to make way for the scouts to help them find the treasure they are looking for.
