:::: DESCRIPTION ::::
UNIT NAME: SORA-209 "Invoker" ROLE: Sub-Sentient/Special Task Utilities STATUS: Active Service MANUFACTURER: Joint project between ARCA-Systems & Exo-Propulsions Laboratories
HEIGHT: 95 ft (29 meters)
This towering and ugly beast is mainly used for repairing, construction and maintaining installations. It is a self-operating unit with "sub-sentient" intelligence. Several Invokers maintaining large underground installations are not uncommon.
Though not usually used for direct combat, it is capable of limited defensive/assault actions. If provoked, it may pick up a manipulator-based weapon and defend itself. The "Invoker" can also invoke & interface with "Ronin" capable units. The Invoker will then essentially operate and become the unit's pilot.
This unit is equipped with a fully functional cockpit for full-manual control. Occasionally, elite pilots may use Invokers on certain assault missions.
Just updated the concept art I made for the 3CH forum in CA. *Hideyoshi posted a speedpaint tutorial for what he posted in that forum, and it's far more better than the tutorial I made since it's a video capture... And yeah, his technique is a lot faster, easier and the outcome looks better Check out the tutorial here: [link] I promise you'll be happy you did
The updated bot looks similar to the last mech I painted... Ah heck, who cares... I'll do better next time. Anyway, here's the description for the updated 3CH sketch:
At the turn of the century, man had gotten weary and bored with space exploration. The wind had brought into their hearts a new, and far more intimate challenge: the exploration of our very own deep unknown: our ocean.
But the effect of global warming has increased the melting of ice caps in the north, and over 100 feet Road Waves have been appearing unexpectedly thruout the entire planet, mercilessly consuming any ship in it's path. Man had sent hundreds of thousands of debris hurdling out into space... Who would've known that we were doomed to do the same with our ocean? Millions of ships had sunk on the ocean floor that it had become impossible to explore.
This destruction of our ocean is seen by many as man's curse to destroy everything around him. But there are a few who see this as a business opportunity. As the ships sunk, not witholding the might of the powerful Road Waves, it brings down with it precious belongings. Belongings that many people would pay handsomely for if ever recovered. That's what the Hunters of the Deep specialize in.
They have built big, powerful robots that can shove ship remains out of the way. It's got a mapping system that maps out a 3d image of the ocean floor and send the 3d image to the scouts to better help them traverse the dangerous wreckage. It can puncture holes, and lift thousands of pounds of steel, with it's claws to make way for the scouts to help them find the treasure they are looking for.
A migrating clan had arrived in the kingdom and asked if they could settle in the flat lands near Lionar Castle. The Lionar agree.
But after only a couple of months, the migrating clan had suspiciously built a tremendous amount of structures in the area where the Lionar had allowed them to stay. The Lionar send an ambassador and a bodyguard to investigate this surprising outcome. When the two Lionar arrive at the migrating clan's field, they discover that the migrating clans didn't just build a simple settlement, but they had also built hundreds of military barracks that is set to invade Lionar country.
The ambassador and her bodyguard try to sneak out of the encampment without drawing too much attention, but they are discovered. The invading clan quickly surrounds them. As the Lionar ambassador prepares to cast a spell that will send out a signal to Lionar Castle, her bodyguard steps in with his huge axe and lets out a roar that echoes thruout the entire military camp. Suddenly the marauders' grip on their swords tighten and their feet, rapidly charging at the Lionars earlier, come to a stop. And each of the villains suddenly think to themselves that they may have chosen the wrong kingdom to invade.
The investigation will have to continue with the Lionar ambassador's spells, and her bodyguard's axe...
~Character designs are based on character concepts as ~egoncalo described them to me.
