Crossover Contest 1: MLP:FiM vs Marvel CharactersThis is the first of the crossover competitions that were promised earlier.Crossover Contest 1: MLP:FiM vs Marvel Characters3 years ago in Personal More Like This
What you have to do is make a pony version of any Marvel character you wish. Be sure that it's a Marvel character and not a character from another comic series though.
If you need an example of Marvel characters the most well known ones are the X-Men. Aside from them I can only suggest is this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Marvel_Comics_characters
Click a letter to show the list for that letter. No shortage of options here!
As usual the artist favourite image will be awarded a 3 month premium membership, this one is for 2 weeks however as I don't think 1 week is really enough.
Submit to the Marvel vs My Little Pony subfolder of the Contests folder.
Deadline is the 26th of October at 5pm.
1 week isn't really enough for this one.
Good luck and try your best.
Edit: Drawing multiple characters is fine but the limit of 3 submissions per week still applies. Please only draw characters from Marvel for this

A simple guide on: Commissioning an Artist. It's often not as simple as one wants it to be when both artist and client want it to be: Cost efficient, time efficient and quality efficient.A simple guide on: Commissioning an Artist.8 months ago in Personal More Like This
I've often spend my time discussing the best way to handle commissions with clients and artist friends that I came to the conclusion that clarity and understanding is key.
I will divide the guidelines I work with based on 3 commission types.
Book covers ( or illustrations)
Reading all 3 parts will give you the full scope as a lot of it applies to one another as well.
1. Reference board.
If you as a client have very specific characteristic features all set and done for your character it can be very useful for the artist if you'd make them a reference board of art and photos that portray these things.
The artist does not wish for a life story of your cha

FAQI've been meaning to do this for a long time, and boy howdy is it long!!! It's organized into a few different categories. I'll update as needed. This may be repetitive to some, illuminating to others, and completely boring and useless to others still.FAQ4 years ago in Personal More Like This

Animation Job FAQ
Q: How can I get a job in animation?
The absolute best thing you can do to get into animation as a career is to go to art school. Not only will you learn how to draw and how to SEE, you will meet people, students and teachers alike, who will give you new perspectives and will likely be the sources of your future jobs. (My first job came from one of my teachers.)
There are several schools that have fantastic animation programs that cover all facets of the atr form. Schools like the one I attended, CALIFORNIA INSTITUTE OF THE ARTS, will teach you animation (2D and 3D,) character design, storyboarding, bac
On Panda Propaganda. This is actually going to be another observation on all the unfortunate body hate in the ongoing female Pandaren debate, so "bear" with me. *rimshot*On Panda Propaganda.4 years ago in Personal More Like This
I have to establish context, beginning with one of the perpetrators.
First off, most recently, it seems we in the debate on female Pandaren are "insecure" and maybe even "desperate", not merely voicing our opinions on the matter.
I'm usually a zen panda. It takes nastiness to push my buttons. Kailia (on WoW forums)/Alewen (MMO Forums) annoyed me at first by calling my and others' Pandaren concept art "revolting" or "horrible" or even "I would not wish these models on anyone", not based on their correlation to the males, mind you, but strictly on being "too fat". She nudged the button when she began picking apart :iconhitsujifox:'s gorgeous concept over at MMO-Champ, again, based primarily on fat content. In my artistic
Holiday ContestsWith December coming up quick, I thought I'd go ahead and ask if you guys wanted to do a Holiday Contest?Holiday Contests4 years ago in Personal More Like This
If we do one, there will be awesome prizes for sure.
If you have any ideas for exactly what kind of contest would be most awesome for the Winter Holidays, or if you'd like to donate something for the prizes for Holiday contests, go ahead and leave us a comment below!
Also, we've currently discontinued Weekly Feature, Weekly Feature! As we were having a bit of trouble with keeping the features up. Do you guys miss that? Or was it really not a favorite feature of Ponytopia (as it appeared since no one really ever commented on it)?
Hope everypony's having a great Fall so far! <3

Some of you may remember a previous group journal, asking you if you'd rather have artist alley in a secure, locked room or within the venue's hallways. MomoCon decided, due to lack of extra hallway space, that artist alley will be located in a
