Hi! This is the homepage/base for a brand new project - the one hundred fans collaboration. The idea is this - each fan contributes one drawing of a chosen Marvel hero or villain and then an editor puts them all together on a software programme to form an awesome poster showing group love for Marvel. No great artistic ability is need, this is supposed to be fun, but the submissions have to follow a few rules:
1. The figure must be full colour.
2. All forms of media can be used; markers, paints, digital, coloured pencils - whatever !
3. Figure must be against a white background and have no scenery around them.
4. Only one figure may be submitted by each participating fan.
5. The editor (whoever volunteers) may, of course, also submit their own work.
6. If you wish to submit, please post your intention and chosen character in t

Five Nights at Freddy's TheoriesWhile I absolutely hate horror games and refuse to play them, I get very interested in the backstory for them, what happens to the player if they die and so-on, and right now a very popular horror game is Five Nights at Freddy's because of how it's designed, so here's some theories.Five Nights at Freddy's Theories1 year ago in Personal More Like This
THEORY ONE: THE ANIMATRONICS
The bad guys of the game are the animatronic animal band of the building, during the night they come to life on their own and wander the halls. The one rule they have is the endoskeletons (robot bits) are not allowed to be outside their costumes, and they believe that the player is one of the endoskeletons without a costume. The animatronics believe that the way to solve this problem is to take you and try to shove you into a costume half your size that is already occupied by the robot parts, wires, gears and the sort, resulting in the robots crushing you to death.
THEORY TWO: THE PLAYER
Right at the beginning of the game it shows a small help wanted article for th

What's the hardest part of being an artist or greatest challenge?
Being able to concentrate on your path but at the same time finding time to do other things, without being curbed by your work and keeping your mind open to new ideas.
There's not a unique recipe for everyone, and this is maybe a useful thing to think about.

Tools of the TradeHey guys. I figured I'd go ahead and do a FAQ journal entry. Just a basic list of the tools I'm currently using for my marker work. I have a new tutorial for my markers that I'll post when I'm able to share the art I used for the progress shots. Feel free to fire away with any questions and hopefully, this can be a go to guide for basic info on my tools. I'm not going to talk about oil painting materials as I'm still figuring all that out and I doubt an answer I give today will hold up in the future.Tools of the Trade3 years ago in Personal More Like This

Markers: Prismacolor Cool and French grey markers. I think "Copic" has become another word for "marker" these days, so it's assumed that I'm using Copics for all of my work, but I actually use Prismacolor for all of my figures and detail work and only use Copic markers for backgrounds. I use to use "Warm" greys but I like the sepia look of French more now. I also occasionally use Copic color markers when I'm doing a full color marker piece. Why do I like Prismacolor markers

Burns one man's vendetta on fires of drunk delight while Heaven's rainbows burn and sparkle in the sky.
The fascinated coo while boredom freezes cold and watches while his breath fades steaming into night.
The pennies for the guy jingle in their tin while he a traitor burns, his Cath'lic soul in Hell.
The animals run scared, not from fireworks, but from th'unholy sound of Guido's punishment.
He screams a silent scream that no-one else can hear, save God and pets and Satan's wailing hordes.

10 Reasons You Shouldn't Quit ArtYou know i keep my journals short, so i'll jump right to it.10 Reasons You Shouldn't Quit Art3 months ago in Deviant Events More Like This
1. When you get an idea for a character, or an illustration or a comic, you can just draw it. You don't have to browse and see if anyone else drew it already, or commission other artists to do it.
2. If you get really good at art, your favorite artist might watch you back.
3. You might eventually get paid for it.
4. Because even if there's tons of art out there, and many great artists, no one, and i mean NO ONE can ever draw what you draw. There can be similar ideas, but only you can bring your particular flavor of art to life.
5. The awesome comments. The better you get at art, the more awesome and elaborate comments you get. Who doesn't want to get praised?
6. Art trades with really good artists!
7. Because quitting is lame.
8. Because when IRL people ask you what you do and you say you're an artist, you get the most interesting reactions. It never gets old.
9. Because you get to browse the internet a

What is it about a fictional character first introduced to the public in Great Britain in 1887 that has kept him being reincarnated, with generationally-correct upgrades, over and over again in film and on television? Who is this literary hero whose portrayal over the past century by such past masters as Basil Rathbone and Jeremy Brett to today’s vanguard talents Robert Downey, Jr. and Benedict Cumberbatch has inspired such a continuing outpouring of fan appreciation?

It resulted in illustrations of both known characters like Rosalina but also pretty unknown ones inlcuding even Golden Sun and the Wonderful 101.
Our new one is all about villains in video games! Can you illustrate those evil guys like Ganondorf, Vaas Montenegro, Kefka Palazzo, Sephiroth, Handsome Jack, Wario etc?
You can either choose one of these characters OR if you want a real challenge let me give you a choice between only three villains. I am mostly choosing those which are not so easy to illustrate of course.
Counting all ALL villains, antagonists and bosses in video games, this means that stage bosses can be claimed as well as evil fighting game characters like M.Bison or Shao Kahn or the big antagonists or villains of a game like those mentioned above.
Each character can be chosen by only one artist. Exceptions are different forms or designs. Like Ganon the boar like boss from the
Spidey 700 2nd printing coming soonI'm not a big fan of variant covers or 2nd printings namely because it deludes market values later down the road (10 or 20 years) on the original first print-first cover. To me, first print-first cover should be the most important because it is the most original...but some how because of the Image Comics market flood of the early 90s, this idea is totally ruined. Don't believe me? How much is your Spawn #1 or WildCATS #2 worth now verse 5 years after initial release? (Side note to further my point: WildCATS #2, with the cool hologram BG, was/is worth $100s...only if you got the print error version that had a double cover accidentally stapled to the front...why is that, the original work is ruined but yet its worth more?). Plus, the story for any variant (or reprint, naturally) has not changed a bit...whats the point of a variant if is the same. So, why pay the same price for the same thing that is just a redo?Spidey 700 2nd printing coming soon3 years ago in Personal More Like This

8 Suggestions for Unconventional StorytellingJust thinking about storytelling again. Seems like a lot of films are stagnating under the misunderstanding that stories must be told one way, especially according to genres. All superhero movies are one way, all horror movies one way, all fantasy and science fiction movies all one way. There are shakeups in general aesthetics, in ideas, in characters, but very seldom are their attempts to revitalize the stories at the source; the structure of the story itself.8 Suggestions for Unconventional Storytelling1 month ago in Personal More Like This
Here's my attempt anyway.
1: Segmented Storytelling
Stories, especially in films, tend to be told linearly even despite flashbacks and flash forwards. Events follow one on the other, characters meet in scenes previous to their combining forces, villains and heroes are introduced with scenes that are tailor made to introduce THEM specifically and do little else. It's serviceable but it's more than a little dull if you watch more than one movie in your life and see the same sequence of events follow the same path: heroes and

orld War I (1914-1918) was a human catastrophe
that devastated Western civilization and mocked the hope inherent in “modernism”. The sheer volume of the war’s slaughter was beyond belief. The horror of it all destroyed the trust in science, medicine and technology as the golden gateway to a harmonious and peaceful future for humanity. All that was thought to be good had been twisted to the evil purpose of a global war. A global sense of hopefulness was replaced with a global sense of fear and loathing.
