Newcastle upon Tyne has been voted the UK’s Best City by the Guardian and Observer newspapers. What makes this so remarkable is that Newcastle has found a way of transitioning from a gritty industrial manufacturing hub to a cultural mecca of the new computer tech-based economy able to support its working class population in comfort and good health.
The city was named after the castle built by William the Conqueror’s son, Robert Curthouse, over a thousand years ago. Newcastle’s location on the Tyne River between England and Scotland placed it in a perfect position to control the regional wool trade and later become

Hi! This is the homepage/base for a brand new project - the one hundred fans collaboration. The idea is this - each fan contributes one drawing of a chosen Marvel hero or villain and then an editor puts them all together on a software programme to form an awesome poster showing group love for Marvel. No great artistic ability is need, this is supposed to be fun, but the submissions have to follow a few rules:
1. The figure must be full colour.
2. All forms of media can be used; markers, paints, digital, coloured pencils - whatever !
3. Figure must be against a white background and have no scenery around them.
4. Only one figure may be submitted by each participating fan.
5. The editor (whoever volunteers) may, of course, also submit their own work.
6. If you wish to submit, please post your intention and chosen character in t

Let's ruin it.
Despite being a story of people who usually make it, The Walking Dead comics aren't that positively oriented. What's positive about a world full of mindless brain-eating zombies with very few living healthy humans left? (Don't answer, I know that for some of you it's a paradise). Come and take a closer look at these comics from a diffrent way than usual.
The basics. The Walking Dead is a black and white monthly comic book series, written by Robert Kirkman and brought to its visual life by Tony Moore. These two guys are the creators of the serie, however, Tony Moore was replaced from issue #7 by Charlie Adlard (which didn't stop him from making the covers through issue #24). And, of course, there's also Cliff Rathburn, who's

Like I said I would I drew some Dying Light stuff, more specifically an OC that I'm deciding what to do with. He's handsome Though I hate how his feet came out, but after an hour of attempting to fix them I said "Screw it" and left it alone. I'll probably cut out the feet when I post it.
Which will probably be later today if I get a chance at the Printer and Mum's desktop.
I've also got a few other things I need to say and some stuff that will be added to this journal. So listen up Kiddies!
First off, I was wondering if you'd like to hear a tale about my young teens that changed my life and molded me into the being I am today? It's sort of a story of depression, how I got over it and what not. A few people may know it but I'd rather vocally say it all so that I can have it out there. It's not my whole life story, like I said, it's just a chunk of it that ended up changing my l

Sisters and Snowflakes
Science was doing such an admirable job for humanity until the guys and gals in lab coats committed an unspeakable act in 1988: The National Center for Atmospheric Research photographed two identical snowflakes. That last certain evidence of real life magic in the world finally fell, debunked. And now I can never again in good conscience pass along to a child that most amazing factoid that amazed me when I

That Place we all go to though we don’t know the way
Almost half of our lives we spend in a state of being that ranges from a near comatose blackout to a surreal quasi–consciousness we accept as a visit to a non–reality. For some of us, bedtime is a welcome drifting off to a much needed rest. For some of us, it’s a miserable battle with the nightly brain gremlins that harass us into hours of exhausting wakefulness. Some of us “don’t dream.” Some of us enjoy our dreams. Some of us are terrorized more nights than not by hideous nightmares. “Beds” are different countries for each of us, with no

Everyone has their little routines for arranging and breaking up their days.
The most interesting ones are those that give you a break from fixating on imminent deadlines, when problems are coming at you ten times every hour and you need to recalibrate a little just to breathe. There must be a moment to reorganize and process information. Counter–intuitively, “takin

Every once in awhile, I come across a picture that takes my breath away. My DeviantART page has been kinda bland recently, so I thought it would be cool to dedicate a section of it to feature these awesome pics. You'll find it under a section called Awesome Pic of the Day. It's much easier and quicker to post these, and I'll try to keep it updated daily or as close to it as I can get. If you think it's a good idea, let me know, and I'll keep it around. I'll archive the history of pictures in this journal entry.

Amongst the Elves and Fae
“Where is the breadcrumb trail of fairytales, and breath of mother nature? We have grown blind to ancestors and their lore, surrendered to fantasy what we believed before. Yet still we dream of elves and fae, of fluttering twilight sprites and lords of timeless halls; we long for lands where battles are won with bow and arrow, skies belong to eagles, and fields feel the flow of magic under the grass. How have we come so far, and how to go back?”

Guy Fawkes Day
Burns one man's vendetta on fires of drunk delight while Heaven's rainbows burn and sparkle in the sky.
The fascinated coo while boredom freezes cold and watches while his breath fades steaming into night.
The pennies for the guy jingle in their tin while he a traitor burns, his Cath'lic soul in Hell.
The animals run scared, not from fireworks, but from th'unholy sound of Guido's punishment.
He screams a silent scream that no-one else can hear, save God and pets and Satan's wailing hordes.

The story could be like: Someone(could be Mike) takes a job at the place and soon finds out about what happened. The missing children, the bite and eventually starts to consider the animatronics being haunted. The Puppet could return as the main antagonist(since he seems the cause of all of it to me if you see the minigames of Five Nights 2), which causes the spirits of the kids to become afraid of the Puppet. Mike would have to side against the animatronics in order to take down the Evil Puppet.
Its a simple story that needs some working, obviously. But it would awnser a lot of questions we have as well as putting an end t

The Ever Evolving Icon
What is it about a fictional character first introduced to the public in Great Britain in 1887 that has kept him being reincarnated, with generationally-correct upgrades, over and over again in film and on television? Who is this literary hero whose portrayal over the past century by such past masters as Basil Rathbone and Jeremy Brett to today’s vanguard talents Robert Downey, Jr. and Benedict Cumberbatch has inspired such a continuing outpouring of fan appreciation?

Tools of the TradeHey guys. I figured I'd go ahead and do a FAQ journal entry. Just a basic list of the tools I'm currently using for my marker work. I have a new tutorial for my markers that I'll post when I'm able to share the art I used for the progress shots. Feel free to fire away with any questions and hopefully, this can be a go to guide for basic info on my tools. I'm not going to talk about oil painting materials as I'm still figuring all that out and I doubt an answer I give today will hold up in the future.Tools of the Trade3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Ok Here goes...
Markers: Prismacolor Cool and French grey markers. I think "Copic" has become another word for "marker" these days, so it's assumed that I'm using Copics for all of my work, but I actually use Prismacolor for all of my figures and detail work and only use Copic markers for backgrounds. I use to use "Warm" greys but I like the sepia look of French more now. I also occasionally use Copic color markers when I'm doing a full color marker piece. Why do I like Prismacolor markers
Spidey 700 2nd printing coming soonI'm not a big fan of variant covers or 2nd printings namely because it deludes market values later down the road (10 or 20 years) on the original first print-first cover. To me, first print-first cover should be the most important because it is the most original...but some how because of the Image Comics market flood of the early 90s, this idea is totally ruined. Don't believe me? How much is your Spawn #1 or WildCATS #2 worth now verse 5 years after initial release? (Side note to further my point: WildCATS #2, with the cool hologram BG, was/is worth $100s...only if you got the print error version that had a double cover accidentally stapled to the front...why is that, the original work is ruined but yet its worth more?). Plus, the story for any variant (or reprint, naturally) has not changed a bit...whats the point of a variant if is the same. So, why pay the same price for the same thing that is just a redo?Spidey 700 2nd printing coming soon2 years ago in Personal More Like This
