The two men watching get taken down first, then the one with his hands under your clothes is picked up by his neck and held in the air. Cloud is stood over you, pure anger on his face, and he snarls, “Disgusting men like you should die.” The man choking tries to apologise but he can’t get out a sound. Not willing to listen, Cloud throws him with all his might and the man goes flying. When he crashes to the ground the other two men get up and drag their friend with them, wailing about a crazy guy trying to kill them.
You sit up, wrapping your arms around yourself. You feel dirty and freezing, your jumper and coat too far away to reach. Cloud walks up to the clothes, picks them up and returns, and as he crouches and hands them to you, he says, “If you were Tifa, you would have taken them out already.”
“Sorry,” you seethe through gritted teeth, tears spilling from your eyes, “I’m sorry I’m not as strong as her.” Y

As you put some books away on a shelf in the bookstore you run, you wonder if he will be visiting this time again. You worked next door to Seventh Heaven and lived in the apartment upstairs, so when you clear out the rubbish in the back you sometimes see Tifa out there too. Because of this, you and Tifa have become good friends and you often go to Seventh Heaven to have a drink or two.
It all really started when Marlene visited with Denzel in tow and wanted to borrow a book. As she was Tifa’s friend, you allowed her to read books at your store and you had even bought some bean bag chairs and cushions for her to sprawl on while she and Denzel read. It had soon become a regular thing so Barret would leave her with you some days and collect her after his work. On a couple of those days, Cloud had come to get her if Barret was late as Tifa would but she would always be behind the bar. Even though they were only next door it was still a dangerous place.

‘Where are you now? Cloud?’ You are standing in the kitchen of the 7th Heaven, busy washing the glasses and letting the water from the faucet run down between your hands. You are being careful so everything may look clean and neat, but in the same time your thoughts are in a mess. The kiss he planted on your lips made your senses so agitated and you can still feel the gentle touch of his fingers across your back. It’s been over a week since the last time you saw him, but you never thought that you could become so thirsty for his lips, eager to drown again in the serene blue heavens of his eyes.
Your heart flutters erratically each time his face flashes in your mind; ‘Why do I miss him so much?! I know he’s always busy… but even after he confessed his love to me… doesn’t he miss me back? Why doesn’t he come to see me? Why doesn’t he even c

You are dangling, hands shaking as they move to grab the horn as if you could make the pain stop by touching it. It’s real. It’s really piercing you.
You hear Quistis screaming in the background and you look at her and Zell who are staring gobsmacked. Zell yells, “No! _____! Hold on!” But the faction swarm him and Quistis. The waiting room was freezing cold. A handful of people were huddled in a corner like Eskimos round a fire, bundled up with heavy jackets and wool shawls. Another couple were hunched over in their chairs, asleep. All were silent, breathing, and barely existing.
A trembling mass of fabric was curled up on one of the seats. It was sniffling and a red nose tip poked out of one of the folds. Suddenly, the whole bundle shot up. The blushing nose tip was now accompanied by rosy cheeks and red rimmed eyes.

"Will you please sit?" the man she'd awoken grumbled.
She mumbled an apology and reclaimed her seat. Bouncing her leg

Wandering around in the Balamb Garden military academy, you can’t help but think of Squall. Since Ultimecia’s demise, Squall and Rinoa had spent every waking moment together, and you couldn’t help but feel jealous. After all, you had always watched him from afar. Being in the elite force SeeD, you had always admired him and even been on a few jobs with Squall. Even though Squall had been withdrawn and unapproachable, you had loved that mysteriousness, where it had pushed away others.
However, much to your secret delight – something you weren’t proud of – Rinoa and Squall hadn’t worked out. They had been together for six months but Rinoa’s forwardness and Squall’s brutal honesty had caused them to clash more and more and eventually Rinoa had left.
It had been very saddening for everyone, especially as Squall had taken it badly. Whenever he wasn’t closed up in his dorm room he was out at the flower field where he and Rinoa had m

It is twelve o’clock and you have a splitting headache, so you down a concoction your parents always had whenever they ‘accidentally’ drank too much, and go out to get some freshness to help clear your head and cool the pain. You wonder if anyone else who took part in the drinking game is feeling as bad as you are.
You wander to the nearby park and wander around the small lake they have, taking in the cool breeze with the scent of water. As you watch the swans drifting nearby you notice a flash of red hair. You turn your attention to it and see Reno playing with Marlene, Denzel and a few others. Not wanting him to see you at first, you move to hide behind a tree, though you know you probably look like a stalker. The children are laughing, playing tag, and Reno, in his silly and playful way, pretends to get caught by Marlene. He mock falls and wails, “No! You got me! Of all the people that you can ever fall in love with, you had never imagined that it would be a playful, flirtatious playboy of a guy. That person is Reno. Despite his frivolous personality and love of women, his sweet side, inability to hold a grudge and uncanny skill at keeping the atmosphere happy and bright won you over almost immediately.
You are sat at the Seventh Heaven bar, drinking a cool glass of white wine while Cloud mulls over his beer. Cid and Yuffie are fighting over something while Barrett watches in amusement. Tifa smiles at you, resting her elbows on the counter, “Deep in thought, ______?”
You look up at her and smile, “Oh, no not really.” You down the rest of your wine and order another. Tifa obliges and as she hands you your second glass, she asks, “How is the florists?”

I set out on a narrow way many years ago
Hoping I would find true love along the broken road
You look back at your hometown of Nibelheim, standing outside the main gate. You're young, about 16, leaving home already to follow a dream...one that can't be reached here. Your parents and friends didn't want to see you go, especially your best friend Cloud Strife, but they all knew you wanted this.
You turn with a sigh, looking at the trail in front of you. You don't know where you're going, but you know you need to follow the trail. Maybe you'll find your dream, maybe even love along the way.
"Wait, ______!" A familiar voice calls. You turn again, to see your spiky haired friend running toward you. He stops in front of you, panting for breath.
"Did you run all the way from your house?" You ask. He nods simply in reply.
"Do...you really...have to leave?" He asks as his breathing starts to even out, his blue eyes slightly sad. You smile sadly at him and nod. You've alw

"Are you closed?" he asks.
"We were going to close up, but you are welcome to stay," you say, smiling. You stop packing up, and pull out a menu, and place it in front of the blonde, "What would you like, sir?"
The blonde shrugs, "Anything you have leftover...I don't want to be a bother."
You smile, "I'd rather stay here than go back to the orphanage," you tell him, "By the way, I'm _____."
He looks at you, and smiles a tiny smile, "And I'm Cloud."
"Nice to meet you, Mr. Cloud," you say cheerfully.
"Just Cloud, please," he says quietly.
"Right then! What would you like?"
He glances down at the menu, "Anything would be fine." You nod, "Would you like water?" He nods.

You open your eyes and find yourself lying in the bed, but in different room than yours. “Where am I?” You rub your sleepy eyes and then realize that Squall is sleeping beside you and your faces are inches apart. He's resting one arm of his around your waist while the other is folded under his head. You can hear him breathing softly and you feel his warm breath soughing against your visage. “Come on Cloud, please don't be so reclusive. There are a ton of people out there, dancing, drinking and having a good time. As you sat at your desk working on the mountains of paperwork that surrounded you, your door silently opened. Just as quietly, Cloud walked to where you were sitting and gently placed his hand on your shoulder. “Hey, are you busy?”
