"Uh... are you sure about this?"
"I really, really, really don't think that this is such a good idea."
"Oh come on you nilly fillies! This is a great idea! We'll get our cutie marks in no time."
With timid eyes, Applebloom looked down to the hap-hazard bed of pillows and hay resting a good twenty feet from where they were. Attached to a couple of trees sat a taut, thin line of wire. Currently, the three of them stood on a thick tree branch, a few balancing sticks resting in the crook above their heads. It was a sunny day in Ponyville, and the three Crusaders had left class, eager to try out Scootaloo's newest scheme on how to get their cutie marks. The only problem was, as young Sweetie Belle and Applebloom were starting to figure out, most of Scootaloo's ideas usually ended badly. And sore. However, she swore that this would be different. After all, what was more important than staying balanced?
"Listen, Scootaloo," Sweetie Belle began carefully. "Why don't we at least try this

Rainbow Dash flew up to her house. She'd had a long day, after ponyville's scheduled drought the rain clouds had taken a lot of work.
"Ah, another day of awesome work. Rainbowdash, you are the pony!" She flopped down on the cloud bed, exhausted.
"And now, it's time for some awesome shut eye."
Rainbow closed her eyes and listened to the rain tap against the window. She loved the sound, immediately she began to snore. She really loved her job as the resident weatherpony. The flying, the smell of the clouds, the respect it brought, she loved every second.
There was a small tap at the front door. Rainbow stirred slightly, snoring even louder. The tapping continued.
"No, no, I couldn't possibly be a wonderbolt mmmhhh..." she mumbled, "Well, maybe..."
The tapping grew more obsessive.
"Become your leader?" Rainbow turned over in bed. "Why yes, it only makes sense..."
There was a boom.
Rainbow tumbled out of bed. "What! Who where!? I'm up!" She took a defensive position.

Pinkie Pie's chipper voice called out over a faint clattering from the direction of the kitchen. "You left it hanging on the coat pegs by the back door."
The earth pony stallion backed out of the closet and trotted across the empty tile floor of Sugarcube Corner and disappeared through a swinging door marked "Employees Only". A couple of moments later his plaintive call came from the store room. "Aw, now where did I leave my rain slicker? It was just here yesterday!"
Pinkie's voice in the kitchen chirped in reply. "On the rack in the bathroom, remember? From when Snails brought Gummy over from Froggy Bottom Bog for his weekly bath!"
"Oh right, how could I forget?" Came the stallion's mildly pained reply as he cantered out of the back room shaking his head, an umbre

(Friendship Report: Even if somepony doesn't seem like they're capable of doing a certain task, they should still be given a chance to show if they can, because they may be better than you think; it's good to challenge yourself and try new things, but sometimes you have to know when something may be too big for you to handle, and try it again when you really are ready.)

"And then what happened?"
"Then, the beautiful princess summoned all her magic, and blasted the diamond dogs back to their kingdom!" The older pony fussed about with the little foal's blankets, tucking them in here and there. The filly clutched her little doll tightly in her tiny hooves. "Equestria was safe again, and everypony lived happily ever after. The end."
The small pony yawned. "Was the princess Princess Celestia?"
A cheeky grin. "Maybe."
Cadance and Twilight stifled their giggling, their muted amusement echoing down the stairs and through the empty lower level of the home. The little unicorn's parents were out for the evening, and Cadance had leaped at the opportunity to foalsit for the filly she considered a sister. Her horn briefly glowed

"Bml mblph." Rainbow Dash curled up into a tighter ball, nestling her snout between her front hooves.
"How in tarnation did you even manage to fall asleep in a barrel?" A hoof shook the pegasus by the shoulder. "C'mon, wakey wakey."
"Spitfire, watch out," Dash mumbled, her tail flicking.
Applejack took a deep breath as she grabbed hold of the top of the barrel and leaned over the edge. "RAINBOW DASH!"
The cyan pony yelped and kicked her legs out, bursting the barrel open in all directions like a blooming flower. The wide metal ring formerly supporting the barrel's rim came to rest around her neck as she glared up at the unwelcome alarm clock. "What the hay, Applejack?!"
"Ah thought you were s'posed to clear the clouds this morning, on account of the royal visit?"
"Yeah. And I did." Rainbow Dash rubbed the sleep from one eye with the back of a hoof and gestured up at the clear, blue sky with the other.

A "Back in Five Minutes" sign was hung in the window in a cloud of sparkling unicorn magic, as Rarity strode past a large boulder that sat by the path, pointedly ignoring it with the slightest upward turn of her muzzle.
A horn painted sign was posted next to the huge stone, with delicate calligraphy stating "The Management of Carousel Boutique humbly requests that customers not bring this object up in conversation. She stopped a few steps beyond it, turning back with an annoyed toss of her mane and calling toward the still open door. "Please do come along, Sweetie Belle, I'm far enough be

There are, of course, many changes in a pony's life. Sometimes it's a day-to-day difference like that of the weather, and sometimes it's a big change which leaves a lasting impact on a pony's life.
There are many events like these which have importance - weddings, births, holidays, causes of celebration and good tidings. And along with the importance of these events comes others bringing it up as their topic of current discussion.
The speaker was talking about a major event such as this - a wedding. And not just a wedding of two ordinary ponies, but a grand union of Equestrian royalty.
With royalty, a momentous occasion is never shared with simply a few close friends and family. The celebrity status of the ponies in question guarantees that the entire surrounding area will be alerted about the event sooner or later. Especially the celebration that was fast

Octavia groaned as she lifted her head off her pillow. It was the night after the Gala, and Octavia had been playing her double bass all night, virtually without break. Virtually. There had been several interruptions of her performance; however, she could not remember what exactly happened yet. She could not remember why she could not remember, until she winced in pain as her head throbbed. It all started coming back to her.
The Gala had begun like it always had; posh ponies from all over Equestria flocked to socialise. Though, not all of them were quite as posh. As that night was drawing to a close, a pink earth pony had walked in and subsequently began to dance around like a lunatic, and jump onto stage where Octavia played. She did her best to continue playing as this annoying pony continued her misdemeanours throughout the crowd.

"She's alive... that's all that matters. But I think she may be coming down with a fever. She's been pushing herself too hard..."
"I've noticed... She doesn't exactly know when to quit."
Slowly, Twilight's eyes began to creak open, and the world around her blurred and shook. A terrible throb came through her skull and she winced, her ears laying flat against the top of her head. Moaning miserably, Twilight curled her legs up against her belly, feeling nauseous. A hoof brushed against her bangs. Though it pained her to look, Twilight forced her eyes to focus and looked upwards. The faces of Rarity and Pinkie Pie began to come into view. Rainbow Dash relaxed lazily on a cloud. She had just finished a spectacular performance, being a Wonderbolt and all. She looked up at the few clouds above her, surveying their shapes. She did this quite often after a show, feeling like there was always something missing. To try and get her mind off the feeling, she bolted off the cloud into the open sky. The wind danced through her mane as she whizzed around clouds, deforming their original shapes. Up, down, left, right, in circles; it didn't matter the direction for the Pegasus. She soon moved to one cloud after another, transforming its shape into something else. Her mind filled with thousands of thoughts, but only one bothered her most. Suddenly, she lost her once graceful connection in the sky, finding herself crashing into a meadow of grass and wildflowers. Shaking off the pain, she pondered to herself.

Disclaimer: Yes, it's another one of these. Shut up.
It was another wonderful Saturday afternoon at Sweet Apple Acres. The pegasi, as was their custom, scheduled no rain for Saturdays and Celestia seemed to specially bless the day with her radiance. So, as always, it was the perfect day for the children of Ponyville to play.
Somepony should have told the Cutey Mark Crusaders. Just like every Saturday, they were in their clubhouse, hard at work figuring out how to discover their special talent.
Scootaloo was holding a clipboard with one hoof, with a pencil sticking out of her mouth like a cigar. "Okay, so we're gonna try milking cows, professional pie eating and stamp collecting. Hm what else I know! What about water polo?"
Sweetie Belle was lying on her back by the window, in danger of slipping off to sleep in the warm rays. She yawned, "Do we know the rules to water polo?"
Scootaloo shrugged. "It can't be too different t

A thunderous roaring of hooves and wild cheers shook the ancient stonework and columns of the starlit colosseum. The scene was alive, more alive than it had been in ages, perhaps in all the years and centuries since the first note was ever played in its heart. Everypony who was anypony was there, hollering and stamping with wild abandon as if to outdo each other. Their shouts and adulations were cast back and forth across the grand open space, where a regal figure was making her way towards the lonely player at the center of all the attention. Such was the din and clamor that the young princess of the moon, smiling brilliantly as she stopped and turned to lift a hoof at the audience, found it hard to make herself heard.
"We believe" She stopped and waited a moment, but the riot of cheers continued unabated. Luna smiled at the crowd, then down at the lone unicorn who looked decidedly uncomfortable in her position next t

"In the later years of Canterlot, ponykind learned that they were not alone among the stars. We long thought that the nights were hoof-crafted by Luna and the days brought by Princess Celestia." She paused for a moment, thinking about what had changed. "Then one day, they came from the stars." She chuckled halfheartedly at this. "From the stars. "There ya go, Tank," Dash said affectionately as she settled the tortoise down in his new enclosure. "I know it's not as big as Fluttershy's yard, but it's only for nighttime or when I'm on a trip. I'll make sure to let you out every morning before I go on weather patrol."
Tank turned his head and gave his mistress a smile, albeit both at an exceedingly slow pace. Despite her love of speed, Dash couldn't help but smile in return as she took a step back to admire the space she'd managed to set up in her house. Despite what most ponies thought, pegasi could and did have items in their houses other than clouds, albeit most of it had to be enchanted to stay supported by the otherwise immaterial vapor. Rainbow had spent some of her hard earned savings on such items as well, including the twenty-five square foot enclosure for her new pet would live in.

Dash heard a recognizable voice call out to her. She was in the middle of napping on a cloud after a hard day's work. Blinking her eyes, she tossed off the last moments of her relaxed break. She stood on the cloud, stretching her back and wings with a loud yawn. Finally, she moved to the edge of the cloud, looking down to see Scootaloo standing below, waiting in anticipation.

Scootaloo eagerly bounced from the ground. "School's out! I came as fast as I could, since I didn't want to keep you waiting!" The orange pegasus filly sounded extremely excited. She was smiling ear to ear, flapping her small wings a bit as she hopped in place.
Rainbow Dash then remembered how she promised to give the filly a few lessons in flying today. "All right," the older pegasus replied. Though a little irritated that she was disturbed during her nap, she had made a promise, and was always loyal t
