Leo wiped his forehead for the 5th time in the past...20 minutes? Maybe he was getting to excited. The others just looked nervous. They weren't sweating. Something tickled his hand and he looked down, half expecting some sort of wind nymph to be flying past his hand. That had happened a few times.
There was no nymph. It was a flame dancing in his hand. The rushing wind blew it out before it could cause damage, but Leo jerked his hand away. They were on a wooden trireme...
He shuddered to think about his ship plunging...however high up the were with all his new friends on it.
Percy had uncharacteristically used his newfound power to get to the front of the group. Reyna was standing beside him, and a little back, perfectly calm. But out of the corner of his eye, he could see her hand clenching and unclenching. They both had people on that ship that they wanted to see again Percy had his girlfriend and all of his friends.

After Annabeth's initial spasm over New Rome, she agreed to let Percy give her a tour.
They were done with the little tour, and now they were waiting for dinner call.
After about 15 minutes of idle chit-chat, Annabeth sat up, looking intently at the Colossiuem, which lie directly in front of them. Percy had chosen this spot in particular.
"Annabeth...?" Percy asked, almost worried by the look on Annabeth's face.
"We need something like this at Camp," Annabeth declared, "I'll talking to Chiron about it."
Percy just laughed, standing and stretching.
"Yeah, I agree. Now let's go eat."
Leo wasn't sure what was happening to him, but all he knew was that after joining the mythological world, he was falling for more and more girls.
This time, it was Reyna. The Praetor. Of the Romans. And either the ex-girlfriend or almost girlfriend of one of his only friends, Jason.
Well, scratch that. He had made plenty of friends at Camp.

"Coming Annabeth!" a female voice that Percy knew well came from the boat, "We just had a little trouble with the chair."
Percy looked at Annabeth, a question in his eyes. She just gave him a knowing smile. Then a redhead and a middle-aged man in a wheelchair (with the redhead pushing the older man) appeared from the cabin and came off the boat.
Percy's just dropped.
Near identical grins spread across their faces.
Rachel got the older mentor of demigods down to the rest of the group, where the Greeks parted respectfully for their teacher.
Reyna gazed at Chiron with a critical eye. The man was obviously disabled in some way. As a Roman, she looked down on disabilities. The Legion was much more flexible now (no longer would they abandon disabled children on a hilltop to die) but they still frowned upon weakness.
And then Rachel and Annabeth started to herd some of the crowd away. Chiron smiled at them.

"She confessed to that Genius Pendragon?!"

The sun beat down on my heat relentlessly, a terrible wave of heat ripped through my body and fled off my head. It was August 15th, and according to my iPod, around 12:30 give or take a few minutes. The weather was incredibly nice, although the heat slightly irritating. Sitting on that sun heated swing I pushed myself idly back and forth with my foot in the sand.
Without a word I tucked my iPod back into my pocket and turned my eyes up onto the sky, studying the white clouds smeared across the sky; like splatters dropped across the horizon from God's paintbrush. The sky was otherwise clear and a cheerful blue, at least, if you were one to like the color blue. I supposed it was better than a warm color like orange or red. Anything was better than being warm, it was so hot that day, the heat made me will for winter again. But I knew that as soon as winter would come I'd just want summer again. So I remained in the brutal heat, trying not to complain.
Somehow earlier that day I

The topic of marriage is no stranger to Americans in recent weeks. The Supreme Court, in a 5-4 split decision, ruled that DOMA (the Defense of Marriage Act) was unconstitutional because it failed to offer homosexuals “equal protection under the law” and that the purpose of DOMA is to “humiliate” and “injure” homosexuals who seek marriage.
No doubt a number of individuals celebrated the ruling, happy, perhaps, to see the archaic edifice of ‘traditional’ marriage burn and establish a sleek and modern “marriage” in its place. Many rejoiced at the new building, but many of us looked on and asked to see the building plans.
Arguments for “marriage equality” are many times the product of convenient reasoning. The typical strain of equality reasoning usually goes along the lines of this: We can’t expect everyone to go by one definition of marriage, nor should the government force one view over the other. Moreover, th

[For your benefit I have included the Gospel passage (Jn 6:16-21) below so you can place your mind in the proper place before reading this reflection]
When it was evening, the disciples of Jesus went down to the sea, embarked in a boat, and went across the sea to Capernaum. It had already grown dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them. The sea was stirred up because a strong wind was blowing. When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat, and they began to be afraid. But he said to them, “It is I. Do not be afraid.” They wanted to take him into the boat, but the boat immediately arrived at the shore to which they were heading.
The Gospel writers were fond of relating 'on/by the water' scenes to their readers. Many significant events happen by the seashore: some of the Apostles are called, Jesus teaches great crowds, and he encounters the Apostles after the Resurrection.
In this instance—Jesus walking on water

Sarah looked at her hands, frozen stiff in the water, terrified.
My hands can't be turning blue. Not already. It's just a trick of the water. Just a trick.
Sarah kept repeating this to herself, trying to kick herself to the surface. Each dull movement was weak and strained, hardly enough to keep herself from sinking faster.
No! No, no, no, NO!
She struggled again, pushing her dull frozen limbs to their limit and beyond. "PLEASE!" Water rushed into her lungs again; cold, sharp, and painful.
Please… Someone… Anyone... Help me, I don't want to die. Not like this. Not now.
She couldn't move. Couldn't breathe. The cold was surrounding her on every side. Her lungs had devoid themselves of what little oxygen they had left. The hypothermia had set in, and Sarah could no longer kee

Where the hell is she?
Alfred's breath came heavy as he made his way up the rocky hillside near Chapultepec Castle, grinning widely even with the dirt and blood smeared on his face, his gun heavy at his side. He finally worked his way up further, up a narrow path leading to the rocky remains of the castle, gaining his footing along the uneven ground with his confidence swelling.
The battle had been so easy. Mere days, which was saying something after the awful run of some of the battles of his own Revolution. No, this had been simple, so simple it seemed mocking - the castle defended by, at most, four hundred people, not all of them even real soldiers.
The artillery barrage was mere child's play (all too appropriate, Alfred barely breaching thirteen and Maria twelve at most), the storming party ridiculously easy to flow into the place other than the short pause when they'd had to wait for the ladders. A stupid mistake, and it wouldn't be happeni

Soft flutters against his cheek joined the piping little noises. Soft like feathers…Oh. Baby-Tooth. What's…? The thought trailed off as the fairy rammed into his forehead with a relatively insistent huff. His eyes fluttered open. Upon seeing the young spirit's bright blue eyes, Baby-Tooth flew right in his line of vision and seemed to be asking questions with a series of high-pitched chirps and squeaks.
"Whoa, whoa there Baby-Tooth," Jack soothed over her squeals, "calm down." He raised his arms in an attempt to placate the tiny creature when he stiffened. His arms were all cut up…

Review of Chapter Four
By Stephenie Meyer
Quick recap from previous chapters tell you that Bella Swan moved to Forks because she's a masochist, every boy in the world must be in love with her [even if they're gay] and Tyler's van didn't succeed in its assassination mission. Quite a riveting tale, no?
So here I go again, with my bag of F-bombs, Wonka Runts, the Terminator 4 Sound Track and a crappy book that's probably not even worth being drug across my ass.
Mainly because who really wants hard paper on their backside? I don't. I like my soft tissue. It's got puppies and shit on the logo.
In the beginning of this chapter, Bella described a dream where apparently Edward has a severe case of radiation and probably need to be contaminated. She's trying to run toward him and can't seem to catch up.
For god's sake woman, hasn't anyone told you not to go toward the light? You like die or something. Is it just me, or is Edward being the light in this da

Luke stood in front of your house, straightening his tie and worrying about whether or not he was dressed too formally. He patted the box in his pocket, making sure it was there before breathing a sigh of relief. The night was rather chilly, so it was a relief when he heard the sound of your clicking heels growing louder and the door opened. The sight of you stunned him into silence for a few minutes before a breathless "wow" escaped his lips.
You blushed and folded our hands in front of you shyly. "Is it too much?" You spun, letting green fabric rustle across the floor. Your dress had a green bust, green, pleated skirt, a gold belt, and a gold halter strap. "You said formal, but I don't know-"
"It's perfect. I was actually just thinking the same thing, so we can be over-formal together," the words tumbled over each other in a rush from Luke's mouth. He held out his hand with a flash of pearly white teeth. "Now your carriage awaits." Amusement sparkled in his gr

She found the Lost Boy somewhere in an alley of poetry and a war of lyrics, fighting for his life with a broken piano and a worn tuxedo. She stole him before the bass viols, the gleaming guitars and the thrashing drums could kill him.
He fought with her all the way, telling her that they would never hurt him, but she had seen their wooden hands outstretching to wring his neck. When he spoke again, this time, calmer, he asked her, "What do you want from me?"
"Just your words."
"I lost my words a long time ago."
"I will help you find them, then."
"I never asked for your help."

Reconciliation (Loki x Reader) Ch. 16Loki watched the wispy tendrils of gold flit around his hand as he weaved his fingers through the air. He lay alone in his room, the bedroom he’d been given upon his latest return to Asgard. He was thinking. A practice he’d always been fond of and active in, but was about the only thing he had to do as of late. The general inactivity and long, lonesome hours of his new captive life were excellent for giving Loki the time to think about all he wished to. The wish for close companions remained in him, but crossed paths and arguments were withering the last of his bonds.
